Anyone considering buying anything from the now-bankrupt Marsaudon Composites and its successor, Grand Large Yachting, after how they treated John Lawson should see what they did to this fine and just man. They are despicable, incompetent scoundrels! Please go to this link: czcams.com/video/bsnpnBhaZnI/video.html. These people build a demo boat to high standards, use that demo to lure buyers and then build inconceivably shoddy products. Shame on the "sailing press" for complicity in this ongoing scam. In two heartbreaking videos John Lawson tells his story of a sailor with a dream who sells his possessions to buy a boat from these serial bastards. It is not only the sordid story of Marsaudon but the heinous fools that bought its assets going forward, with a former owner avoiding all responsibility and claims to Lawson and others going forward.

It would be nice for one day to have an A.I on these that can help the sailors do the work. Turn it on tell it where to go and it pulls the sails that are needed out and back depending the speed you need. I would love to sail but not do the work.. Yes I m lazy! but like driving I choose to drive an automatic :) this would open it up to people that have no interest in the work.

If I won the big one I would have to learn how to sail

Jérôme Guillou from Garcia gave me detailed, insightful and very competent run through of the Exploration 52 at the recent Boot Düsseldorf 2024. This is a truly remarkable boat, outclassing all other blue-water boats at the show.

From our perspective it is an excellent and beautiful boat, we really loved and appreciated it. We would like to own a Garcia 45, but since France is actually an invader and colonialist in 2023, we did not want to contribute to the French economy (we have not used French products for 20 years) and went to the Besteaver manufacturer.

So the question is, if money was not an issue, Exploration 52 or 60? We should do a poll. I love the extra space in the 60 but the 52 seems more easily handled by a couple, with less reliance on technology, and I think I like the saloon better. Since I'm not that keen on having a big aft cabin like in Fiore, I would be torn between the two.

Sorry, Garcia. I've still not won the lottery. One day, tho....

Other yachts don't catch my eye, I'll definitely travel around the world as Garcia
