Gman is great as always, but everything surrounding the humans is just hot garbage. You can see & feel they’re in a studio. And ofc they are, but the whole point is to make it seem like they are with the titans in the scene. I understand budget wise they had to sacrifice a lot, but also in terms of writing & direction, it just feels very underwhelming.

I hate scenes like this. What person in their right mind would stick their hand in there? Crazy scientist lady explained exactly what was going to happen and she still goes for it. She then takes her sweet ass time hovering her hand over the snakes assuring they will bite her.

Nice touch of detail putting the Dutch windmills along a canal. Along the length of the Netherlands ran roughly three lines of German air defenses aimed to stop bombers from reaching Germany from England. The Germans coupled radar sites, air artillery batteries and airfields into a coordinated defense. Towards the end daytime fighters were replaced with radar equipped night fighters, with more and more air defense batteries and Luftwaffe personnel being sent South to provide defensive support against advancing allied ground units.

Lucy Gray is probably the most important and tragic character in the canon. If Snow wasn’t in the picture, she would’ve died as another tribute, albeit more interesting than most. But with Snow, her existence was enough to drive down any humanity he had and showcase what the games truly could be: entertainment. In a way she’s almost like Kim in Better Call Saul. Spoiler alert for that show, but when Kim left, Jimmy truly became Saul and later on helped Walter’s drug empire. With Lucy Gray, her existence was what kept the games alive, because Snow was so infatuated with the thought of her, his actions to keep her alive provided the framework for all future games from the 10th onward.
