Congrats on taking so much to the charity shop! That's fantastic! I remember once when I was in college and I went home and threw out a bunch of old school notebooks that I no longer wanted. When I went to school and then returned home several months later, I noticed the notebooks were back on my bookshelf in my room. My mom must've seen them in the trash and thought it was a mistake or that I'd regret getting rid of them. It was sweet of her to be concerned but I ended up putting them in my car to take with me and throw out. I'm still working on decluttering more sentimental things. It's hard but I'll keep at it. Sorry you had a rough week. Hope this one is better!

The most important thing is to make sure you spend some time just for you. Balance is hard when you are so busy, but it’s important not to forget yourself when you are working and looking after everybody else x

I have nothing from my childhood. And it made me careful about getting rid of my daughters things. I always asked and involved them. I do have a bit of a problem getting rid of items like antique or vintage. I keep all my cards from my husband and daughters,and my grandchildren now. I have a basket in my closet I keep them in.

Would your aunt expect you to keep the chest of drawers if she knew you didn't like it? I don't think you'll forget your aunt if the chest isn't there to remind you.

Put your washing machine in the bathroom .

If your daughter still wants the cuddly toys and bath toys, let her keep them. As she gets older she will decide to get rid of them, and that is a sad time for you, it means she is growing up.

Hoping you hear good news about the Job you Enjoy! Also think that swapping out the fridge for a Dishwasher would be a Great idea for You and your family. Everyone can help load their dishes and take turns putting a load away! Some models do small pots too. Too, the decluttering will free up Your time later, bc they’re will be less to clean and take care of. I still have a nice home with comfort and some decor, but I have more free time. It’s nice not to have dirty dishes on show and I must admit if I didn’t have a dishwasher I think they’d accumulate during the day as I’d rather not wash up multiple times a day. You wont regret the dishwasher if you do it. I feel the same way about getting a dishwasher as I did about passing my driving test - things got considerably easier on a daily basis. I am trying to declutter 2,024 items. I am on less than 200 and am struggling to find things to declutter, I have either already got rid of it, or it needs to be sold, or I am stuck. I used to go to Glastonbury festival and had a lot of fun over the years but it got a bit big and muddy. By going most years and going before it started and staying on afterwards as part of the team putting it on, I spent 6 months of my life on that farm. Have you ever walked up the Tor? I could do it when I was younger, it might be a good barometer of where a person is with fitness. Maybe it is time to drive down there and try again. I'll be back for the job cliff hanger Emma, this is much nicer than Eastenders, you aren't shouty and no one has got run over yet.

My dad is a keen pianist, from the age of 5 he’s been playing by ear now 84 he plays the organ in his local church and played a piece at our wedding recently. My challenge has gone by the wayside ? I’ve a little health scare going on at the moment but will do a month when things settle. Regarding your holiday personally I’d love to see some of Rome and Pompeii , very exciting ! Hi Emma,😊 I'm years into my decluttering. What I would say is that now, I only have utensils, crockery etc that I use regularly. I have a small box in the loft that the kids might use when they'll have their own flats but thats it! This also goes for food. Anything I'm not getting through I try to use up asap ir give away if not open. Then take a note of not to buy again. I look through my food cupboards before grocery shopping & make a rough menu plan. I do zone cleaning & follow the Fly Lady system as demonstrated by Diane in Denmark, on CZcams, who I would thoroughly recommend. Go you🎉

Hi Emma- Thanks for the additional information about Glastonbury. It does sound like a fun place. We went to Stonehenge but I wasn't able to take the shuttle close to the stones because there were thousands of tiny bugs getting on us and one of my kids was really bothered by them so I went with them to the visitor center then back to our tour bus. I'd like to go back again sometime. Great job continuing to declutter! I've been tired from moving two of my kids into their apartment but I need to return to my decluttering soon. I'll be waiting for the next episode of "Emma at Work" to find out what happened with your second job. I hope it got resolved so you can fully enjoy your vacation. I had my fortune done around 26 years ago,just for fun,I don’t really believe in it. The lady told me I would meet a man who would be the love of my life. Described him,mostly as a very warm and kind man. I told her she was wrong,because I’m already married. Then she said,he’s not who he is pretending to be,he’s cheating on you. I got angry. About 6 months later I came home from work to an empty house. Checked our bank accounts,11.11 left. He took everything. I tracked him down,it took a year. And informed him he would be paying for a divorce immediately,or my lawyer was going to make him pay support until I remarried. He was extremely emotionally and verbally and financially abusive. 2 years later I met that man the fortune teller told me about,we will be married 23 years in August. I never did try to find her to ask her how she knew.

Yes we get Coronation Street in Ontario Canada. It’s on every week night for half an hour. We are a few episodes behind from those shown in England. I have been watching it for years but much preferred the older episodes which included more humour.

Hello! Challenge update--I cleared the guest bedroom bed and painted the kitchen with my husband. Now all the other walls in the house look like they could use a coat of paint. 🤔 What have I started!?

Hi Emma,washing up really does take time doesn’t it. I’ve had dishwashers for the past 20+ years,the added bonus is it holds all the dirty dishes and mugs during the day keeping the worktops,sink clear. You’re right to think removing clutter definitely makes keeping the house tidy much easier😊 Absolutely thrilled your daughter passed her viola exam! I have a small kitchen, i had a washer and dryer, i got rid of them and had a washer dryer and dishwasher in the place of the dryer. Best thing ive ever done.You could re jig your kitchen without losing cupboard space. My old neighbour had a side board in her dining room for all her plates and bowls. It's not far to walk to put them away.
