Do you shrink with or without the layer that needs to be peeled off when applying the tint?

I’m a doer so I wanted to try tinting for the first time but I’m also a planner so I feel like your videos are giving me the most important information so instead of doing it 20 times per window, I only have to do it five times per window to get better. I'm still kind of shocked at the amount of shops that STILL refuse to use the soap rope. I've owned three different cars from three different manufacturers that were known to develop electrical gremlins if water got down between the dash and windshield. I kind of lose all respect and faith in any shop that doesn't make it a basic part of their routine since it's such a known issue. Great video. I wish I had shops like yours in my area. My local shops have you wanting to just do it yourself, but I know most of us with 0 experience would royally screw it up.

I wonder if they reformulated it in the last year? They no longer have a 35% VLT option, and I picked up a roll really to put on my house windows (it's cheap, and really the only ceramic film you can buy in small batches/without having to contact an installation company. I really didn't care if it turned out a little hazy since the outside of the windows only gets cleaned once a year, so it's hazy anyways...) It's still obviously cheap, and has that typical blue/purple tint to it, but in your videos it seems to have a green tint. Maybe they actually listened, maybe it's all in my head vs cheap tint that I've seen. as a good tint shouldn't be noticed at all (Like I didn't notice my car had a tint installed from the dealership until a month into owning it. and that's mostly because they used cheap garbage for the back window, so the edges started lifting + it faded to purple & hazed over within a couple years. the side windows I wouldn't have noticed except they wanted to keep the window stickers on so you can see there's a layer over them from the inside if you look close.) Now, if you plan on doing more than a couple windows, the cost of buying a bulk roll starts to make sense real quick. This stuff is ~$1.53-$1.92/sqft, whereas you can get a 20ft roll of a good ceramic like Xpel XR Plus for ~$1.32-$1.43/sqft. So once you're looking at buying 4 rolls of Black Magic, it becomes cheaper in every way to just buy a roll of the good stuff off a reseller.

I used Windex and trash bags for my windshield tint removal, same concept but I sprayed then waited 30min, sprayed again and waited another 30 and then peeled it. All the glue came off with the tint in one go. Shop quoted me $120, I did it myself for 1/2 bottle of windex

Really appreciate your professional work, I'll save this video as reference since I'm going to do it myself next week, if I have the internal sides OEM trim covered with fabric, this extra water will not damage it? (Can I use isopropyl alcohol? at least it will evaporate in a minutes)

Can you tell me why I keep getting damaged hardcoat marks towards the bottom of the windshield only when I use geoshield apex 70. I tried it 3 times and used way less heat 2nd and 3rd time but it keeps getting these scratch/hardcoat damage marks at the middle bottom. All other brand films have been fine.

Pretty sure you test Ceramic tint by... Using a heat lamp or heat gun from the outside and measuring tempreture spikes from the inside. You're also ment to use UV"s not VLT ( visible light transfer ) to measure the effectiveness of a ceramic tint. Aye yi yikes... do you even know what your doing mate? Lol You pretty much apart of the whole ceramic tint scam by pulling that little trick on your Viewers who are ignorant of tools like this in the Industry.

The amount of times ive watched guys use that silly little... Water collector you use at the bottom of a windshield... And when they're done they pull it out genetly only to find it rolls up your tint from the bottom puts fluff and dust inside your TINT. It has the potential to absolutely RUIN your jobs. Especially with that expensive ceramic tint....
