- Bottom loading is the easiest way to tint a door window however it involves pulling the door window seal which can involve taking apart a car door panel. Some cars are easy to take apart and some are difficult. I never learned how to tint this way but its a very popular method now and you may want to consider it and new to window tinting

Here at Sun Distributing, we believe that the supplier of the window film should know every aspect of the business. It makes it hard when a tinter or tint shop needs support but their supplier does not know the business from one end to the other. I started as a tinter helper in 1989 and worked my way up to the point of distribution. Along the way I have put together a successful retail tint shop and know every hurdle that a tinter and/or shop owner could face. I believe that there is an extreme value to having a company with our experience in the industry having your back.

I first learned how to tint by bottom loading and I pull every seal. After enough experience and practice then you know the tricks for each make. Most of them can just be peeled back from the top enough to grab the belt molding out. I prefer this way because it makes for an easier and cleaner stick all the while being faster if you know how to pull the seals properly.
I started out 2 staging then went to bottom loading after a couple years cause the results are much better. Well at least for me they were. I actually hired someone to help take door panels off and clean windows. All by yourself can take some time in my opinion. I also learned from Matt’s videos, so appreciate all the videos
there no need to take the whole trim on most cars, you can just pull the top and take it out
Prefer 2 stage. Its much faster, less hassle.
The best method for the cleanest and most consistent results.
When I was taught how to tint I was always told to take the door panel off.
You taught me how to two stage.
When I done a 2007 RS6 the seal goes all around the window so I had no choice but to two stage.
It was from then I decided to change my technique to two stage more, because I'm like you I don't really like taking things apart and I have broken clips etc that I've had to replace.
Thanks Matt your a legend!
2 stage is faster
Depends on the window but yea man once I started 2 staging I rarely bottom load now.
My favorite CZcamsr :)
Matt you are a natural at bottom loading 😎
Most Chevy sweeps are cake without pulling the panel. I also own a blazer, you just need to use a push stick to pop the top clips or give it a nice yank. There's the same amount of risk of breaking something as there is water soaking into some of the crappy leather out there causing it to swell. I haven't 2staged in years, I tried not long ago and was not a happy camper since I'm no longer used to it lol
I got my new 2023 Kia Sorento SX Prestige yesterday i went 70% on the front 3 windows and 50% on the rest of the car and went 5% on the panoramic sunroof and I must say I’m impressed with it
I love bottom loading but i agree with you, if i see a car where the seals are very loose i just 2-stage it. But everytime I bottom load, U usually don’t shrink!
Tell me about that sprayer you’re using. Please and thank you.
It was helpful, Love u 🇧🇩🤝🚕👍
Nice recap...can I ask you if you'd need to remove panels for a Peugeot 308 hatchback? TIA
Is there a link for the hook tool that you used to pull the sweep? Haven't seen that one before.
when I was learning i was watching your video and 2 stage is all I do..but in some cars seals are to tight for me so I remove panels
I just get much cleaner jobs especially on older vehicles bottom loading. most cars you can just pop out top side clips, and usually on screw behind door handle for slack to access seal. you can get little hooks so you can hang panel on so you panel wires dont get stressed if the whole thing needs to come off. Also aliexpress for panel clips in case you break one.
All in all well worth the time. 20 minutes per car for an easier job.
Bottom loading results are way way better. Most of the new BMW's you can pull the top part of the door card off. Then pull the seal out so you don't have to undo all the card.
everyone saying bottom loading is faster never spent enough time developing decent tinting skills
Can you please let me know where can i get the moulding puller?
Do you have a link or name of that seal puller tool? Thanks!
Lol haha when u said ten I was speaking to the screen saying it’s a seven most Chevy are I love removing door panels makes the job easier I have extra clips if door clips brake
Wish you were in Atlanta
I learned bottom loading then started tinting at a larger shop that wouldn’t allow it. I have done both. I get the same results either way. However by not pulling the panel, more $$ is coming in because of time wasted on panels. I Also build police cars where taking the panel off is necessary and these parts keep getting cheaper and easier to damage. My opinion is don’t remove it unless you’re unable to two stage.
You don’t have to remove the panel on this one but it is a gold thing to know how to do for bottom loading, but the tops just pulls back and the sweep comes put with no issues with a pick tool.
Hey Mat would you try the EZ Tint tool from Xpel and give your thoughts on the tool vs this bottom loading method and/or the 2 stage method.
That tool is crap too big and awkward, get the Gasket Pro tools Speed loader
@@JuanPerez-ec1hp I have both the EZ and the Speed loader. I was just wondering his opinion on the EZ tool or I would have asked about the speed loader. I also feel the EZ tool is a little to cumbersome.
Something to be careful of when the trim is hanging like that is that some cars may put tension on the door handle and lock cables and break at the handle. Mazda 2,3,6,CX3-9 are very easy to snap. 😉😊
I normally do bottom loading but I don’t pull sweeps, I just use the “gasket wizard” or “Speed Loader”
I'm not a professional tinter, but I'm not sure anybody mentioned this. On every car that I've ever worked on since the early 90s, the top seal is connected to the door panel. They come off together. I've never in my life had to remove the seal from the door panel. I'm not sure that I would ever do so. I wouldn't feel safe snapping them apart. It's not necessary.
Love your work and your videos though.
I've been a bodyman for 20+ years I think I'll take the panel off for a while until I master the 2 stage process, for time
The only time I do this is usually for euro cars. For some reason BMWs have very tight seals. But if you care about time and money then this isn't for you. If you don't care about time and about a great finish then yes. By the time you take the panel off you would of been done 2-staging the window. Preference I guess.
Bottom loading is a definite advantage with cars that have deeper side rubbers with felt like a Dodge Nitro. 😉
I do this too
check door sweep remove
What’s the benefit to this over the way you normally do it?
To me it’s cleaner and less corner creasing I been removing door panels about three years now most door panels are easy to remove honda are the easy ones
I agree with tint wizard plus some panels don’t need the whole panel removed. Also you can tuck more film down and it can rub less
For some it’s cleaner and it’s definitely easier
You can tell majority of the time if a window was top loaded because there’s always a crease point. Bottom loading doesn’t have that.
@@DetroitTintStudio you don't have to do all of that Matt just get a speed loader
Now you gotta remove quarter windows
All You need to remove la sweep not the whole panel
90 % of cars you don't need to remove door panel. Just pop off top off the panel and remove seal with proper hook.
I'm sure people have different techniques, but working on car stereos for decades, I've always removed the door panel and the seal as one piece, since they're snapped together. I've never thought of just removing the top seal. But again, that's regarding car stereo work.
Whatttttt😮Matt is bottom loading
Bottom loading master race
Update: Whoa, he did remove it! I must comply and remove adblock! I dislike ads as much as rush hour traffic, but i’m a person of my words. Enjoy the ad revenue 😢 I’ll also give you a like too! Love your work! 🤙🏻👉🏻👍🏻
Downdate: Remove the “So” from the title of your video, and I’ll remove Adblock.
😂
Can I tint in 32 degree weather?
Second
HOW TO KEEP CONTAMINATION FROM GETTING IN THE TINT JOB, SMALL PIECES 🤔 😕 😅
Third
I've actually never pulled the door panel to bottom load
i'm gonna try bottom loading on a 2007 lexus gs350
i heard that driver window is curved though
First
Check the tinting laws before you tint. I see so many tinted windows that are blacked out. By law you are to have so much light to come in. Can not have them blacked out. Also I see so many cars with there front windshield tinted. Again by law you are only to tint your front windshield 6 inches from the top down. Not the WHOLE WINDOW>
I've been tinting for years. Ive never pulled a seal ever on any car. Time consuming and unnecessary
How do you do it with no creases
@@JBIRD575 heat shrink and 2 stage it. I wouldn't advise anyone to do it like this. To much liability. Better investing the time to learn and heat shrink
@@mikegenesis7484 you really didn’t answer the guys question. You can shrink it all you want but he’s wondering how you stop the crease you get on each side from 2 staging and the answer is you don’t you will almost always have a crease on each side there’s ways to fix this but the crease itself is in avoidable. Some head and a hard card with a paper towel will set the crease down and make it stay sometimes you can make it look like the crease is not even there. Bottom loading on the other hand never once had a crease on the sides
@@shansh98 got you. I use a medium stiff triangle tool with a curved edge. Stick the sharp corner in the frame and push it with the curve in a pivot motion. This only works with 2ply 1.5 mill or anything thicker. You will destroy any single ply dyed film
looks like it just depends on what you're comfortable with, both do the jobs.
I'd MUCH rather do the 2 stage. Taking off the panel is way too much hassle. In addition, the 2 stage is much faster!
Toyotas and Hondas are the easiest to pull seals from 🫡 when pulling seals you don’t ever have to shrink the tint which saves time
