    I'll interested in your single track thoughts. I have got a 350s, 701, 890adv and honestly I just want something to get something in the 300-500 range that slow and dependable with long maintenance intervals. The 701 and 890 are great, but get too exhausting and unmanageable on technical rides for me. The 350s a billy goat...with 466 miles intervals, You can do that in a 2 days. I've had really good luck with the Motoz Rallz tires.

    I bought one of these for my 2 Vespas (290lbs each) not realizing the outer rail only supports 250lbs and the inner rail supports 450lbs as long as the total of the 2 isn’t over 600. I wish their website was more clear on that before I dropped $1700 on it.

    Thank for the review. Wish we had flowing smooth trails like that in Arizona! I've only ridden mine around my property thus far. Hard to describe, but compared to me 2022 500 EXCF, it's just fun. I've never been able to nail some of Rich Larson's techniques, but experienced serious improvement after just a few rides on the 300 XCW. I love my 500, just installed the lucky cartridges up front and national shock, incredible difference compared to the stock WP crap on the 2022s, I like a more plush ride. I think that's the only thing I need to get tuned in on my 2024 300, perhaps a little more plush on the suspension. Surprisingly, I just checked SAG, and it's set perfectly for my 202 lb geared up weight. I'm surprised as I'm sure the spring rate is a little under for my weight, but that's the way it came from the dealership. I've heard some people are replacing the linear rate spring with a progressive rate spring in the rear.

    • @oregonmotojohn
      @oregonmotojohn Před 5 dny

      @MarkSpencerAZ Great info, yes, what a difference suspension makes.I was surprised that my rear didn't need a new spring rate as well. We got lucky! It is crazy how much fun these two strokes can be! Enjoy the ride! 👍 👌

  • @tawerner2
    @tawerner2 Před 5 dny

    Are you still running the Med Comp TSP Head and insert? I know TBI vs TPI, but on my 23 Husky I installed the TSP reflash and head kit with the med compression insert but it was really aggressive in the trails so I went back to the Low Comp insert and it made trail riding so much more enjoyable.

    • @oregonmotojohn
      @oregonmotojohn Před 5 dny

      @tawerner2 Hi, thanks for chiming in! All excellent points you make. The TSP ECU reflash comes with two maps, I do run the less aggressive map on the trail and the more aggressive map everywhere else. Because I can run the less aggressive map, it probably makes the medium compression head a little more mellow. This is functional using the stock map switch that came with the bike, only one map is downloaded from two stroke performance, but with the stock map switch from KTM, the TSP maps are both preserved and functional. If I couldn't run the easier map on the trails, it would be a bit much, I agree 100%. Very good point!

    At the 23:27 timestamp, the rubber pieces will slide down and out of the fuel tank if you leave them attached to the skidplate. When you re-install the skidplate they will help hold the skidplate in position while you re-install the mounting hardware. when given the option of using a Torx or a nut driver I''ll' always use a nut drive, less chance of striping the Torx.

I have read that the computer is locked into a circuit on the low end and the fuel controller only helps in the upper range? Great detailed video, this is much appreciated. I have this kit en route and I fear I'll have a little more work ahead of me than shown here due to the fact that I am running a Moto Minded Dash and Super mount. I fear the hardware used to mount that MM setup to the top triple clamp will interfere with the BRP sub-mount even with the provided spacers. Either way I have a great reference here to work with, many thanks!

    I just finished putting the lucky cartridges and national shock on my 2022 KTM 500EXCF. Night and day from stock! Then I make the decision to maybe play around with a 2024 300 XC - w. Convinced myself I won't need to work on the suspension to the tune of $3,600 like I just finished with my 500. It's nice to see a review from someone who has also experienced the MX tech suspension and compare it to the new 2024 OEM. My home should is that I want to go to the national shock anyway, but if the WP is close, it won't be as easy to justify that $2,600.

    what counts is not displacement or the absolute power; it's the weight:power and/or weight:torque ratio. For that 350S, it's about 8 pounds per (dyno i.e. to the wheel) hp and about 13 pounds per (dyno) ft-lbs. That's more than strong! In contrast, a Husqvarna 701 Enduro weighs about 6 pounds per hp and 8 pounds per ft-lb.; not really that much different/stronger! And, try throwing a 701 around like that 350. Note: gears multiply torque; those numerically larger lower gear ratios provide more torque multiplication. Have fun working with and learning from the math ... and Enjoy it !

I want to be able to loft the front end much easier. If not then yes will look into the TSP upgrades although it seems very pricey.
