    Nice to watch video again as always and very rig informative today, not often you will get to see Martins Dingle Dangle rig being used here in UK. Most wont realise this new so called "Dongle rig" doing the rounds here now, was copied from the afore mentioned South African Dingle dangle rig above. The Crimps were an interesting variation though, but think lm happier sticking with my trace body knots and snelled circle hooks lengths on my dingle dangle rigs. Always like Newton classic Cod ground summer or winter.

    • @martinking9663
      @martinking9663 Před 22 hodinami

      Like you said and this rig is definitely more suited to big big baits where the likes of pullys would never work. If the target species have teeth then it's wire not mono. I said the same as you but I done as I was taught, failed at first because I didn't use crimping pliers, but once I did, it hasn't failed yet. I may persuade david to do a video on stress testing to show knots V Crims.

      @@martinking9663 l cheat here as lve seen all this evolve first hand , when l first started going to RSA and Namibia 20 years ago when they hadn't progressed passed a flapping patornoster, multis and mono. Video and testing crimps be very interesting, l know it' ll hold up here at home, but Crimps are a no no for me, just personal preference, on mono or steel traces on Big fish away. But what's even more bonkers is all the locals swimming out with a trawler net practically and hauling it all in by had! 🤯 Glad you liked the tips mate 👍 I'd be lost without my power gun tbh hahaha I've used it under the pully beads to register bites better so it acts like a patonoster and can still pull through like the pully.

    Done that rig a couple of months ago, but I clipped the weight line straight onto the mainline. Then I evolved the idea into a 2 hook system using a cascade swivel on the bottom snood, so it's a paternoster on the top and uno rig on the bottom. And it's a brilliant rig that works.

      @@martinking9663 it fishes great, I also only use small hooks with fat gauges like sakuma octopus and chinu hooks, then called it the sliding uno pat rig. And with it being a sort of uno rig, on the bottom you can have a 6 foot snood length if you ever need it. Pulley systems is all is use on my big gear and swear by them. And ye, go for it, experiment, that's what I do to 😉

    Great video been watching a few of them now. How do you get on with pulley rigs? I stopped using them due to lots of bites but not many fish. A more experienced cod angler showed me how to tie a semi fixed paternoster rig which has made a big difference to hook ups, with it being semi fixed when fish is on hook length slides down so that weight is above the fish just like a pulley rig.

      @@AllyMac-ic6tv thanks Ally much appreciated. I like them, never had a problem to be honest. The trident figures of 8’s as I call them create more resistance meaning that the hook length doesn’t pull through as easy and there’s more chance of a fish getting hooked. But yeah that system sounds good too, I’ll have to try it one time.

    One of them couple of lads was me mate. We got not a thing that night so your session went better than ours. That mark does throw up the odd cod though fish it all the time.

    Great video, I love how you don't waffle on. You seem very knowledgeable, certainly much better than me, mate. Atb Look forward to the next one. The number of channels I follow is hard to keep up, Lol. I don't know how your subs aren't 10k plus personally speaking. Hope your channel keeps growing 🙏

    Great video buddy 👍 out of interest which do you prefer the dymic HST evo or the kompressor SS? Keep up the good work

    • @fullcircleangling
      @fullcircleangling Před 5 dny

      @@charlieharrison9088 cheers Charlie thanks very much mate. Mmm good question, the SS feels lighter and not quite as stiff in the tip, but my Evo is unique in that it has a beefed up tip which is probably why. The Komp feels slightly more user friendly but to be honest there’s not a lot in them.
