It’s a very good knot and I liked the Uni knot finish at the end. I always find the most important part is finding a leader that best allows the braid to bite in. That and cinching down until you see the colour change along the braid at the knot. That way you know it’s good to go.

Is a great knot probably the best braid leader knot , but very differcult to tye outside when in harsh weather, do you not sinch down the braid wraps to the mono at all, or before you finish it off.Me like most l guess, just watched and copied the 100s of versions online till l got it right but it was a painful frustrating saga.Braid mono was okay, but the braid to braid version still has me banging my head at times.

Hi David. I just let the tension of the wraps do their job. I find of there’s the right amount of tension while tying them there’s no need to sinch it.
I doubt braid to braid would work given there’s no stretch?🤷‍♂️

@@fullcircleanglingas they all switched mostly to fixed spool for shore fishing in Southern hemisphere RSA, Namibia, etc, mainline braid to braid leaders is all that's used now, though with a mono or wire, trace body's and snoods. So lve had try learn tying braids averaging 30/50lb mains to 100/200lb leaders. It helps to get it right I'm just about competent now if l take my time.But it's another world out there in fish sizes obviously, if your lucky ofcourse.👍🏻
