Combine the BZER pickleball with a mini sweet spot training paddle and you now have a combination that helps create a training environment where FOCUS, CONCENTRATION, and PRECISION are a high priority. You simply won't get away with miss hits. Topspin, slice, groundstrokes, serving, volleys, dinks, drops, hand battle exchanges, Etc. ALL can be trained using these two items. Be forewarned: 1. It will make training much more difficult or frustrating at times...but the time spent will be well worth the improvements. 2. MAKE SURE you get a mini paddle that you can weigh to the weight and swing weight of your normal paddle. This will aid in adjusting more quickly when you go back to your normal playing paddle. 3. Use these two devices in combination with your regular paddle. Say, warming up, drills, games with training stuff...then same with playing paddle. Even with adding weight and keeping swing weight as close to your playing paddle as possible...the "feel" will be different. You just want to get the mini paddle as close as possible. Here is the link to the paddle I bought, weighted, and use as it most closely represented my Six Zero Infinity BD. It does feel more "solid" than my normal paddle with not much give but that is most likely due to the smaller size and the T700 Carbon Face vs the Composite Face of my Infinity BD. tinyurl.com/3nw27k9m There are others...Franklin makes one, another called the Professor, and several others...look on Amazon. Just try to match up the construction with your playing paddle and its sweet spot...also don't forget to weight it and match the swing weight as close as you can. Additionally, the sweet spot of the Ace-X Sweet Spot Paddle matched up IDENTICALLY to the center of the sweet spot on my Infinity BD….just MUCH SMALLER sweet spot….PERFECT!!! BUT it has worked GREAT for me!!!

Anyone try a game with training paddles plus the bzer? Sounds like a fun challenge for those who appreciate hard mode. Definitely recommend eye protection in that scenario though.

Jimmy is on to something smart here. APP needs to embrace semi pro and amateur level competition players. There is no room to compete with PPA they have a stranglehold on the best of the best. They also need to jump on college pickleball. Feels like they are trying to win big with pros in the short games instead of playing the long game.

I have been using little baseballs that Jimmy was talking about in training people in Colorado. In fact, I was talking to Scott Moore about this very same thing about two weeks ago. This is a great training tool Lenny Dykstra that played for the Angels used to use the same principal with ping-pong balls.

I think Ben and Collin would start dominating again if Collin would change his mentality of being only defensive and relying on Ben for all offense. Dylan is the best right side player because he is not only defensive but aggressive offensively. Collin has trained to not be offensive and let Ben do it all. The level of play is too good to continue that strategy. There are so many balls that Dylan would have crushed that Collin just resets. Collin has the skill to be aggressive, now he needs the will and the nod of approval from Ben to actually be aggressive.

I was at San Clemente, agree that level of play is getting more parity, competitive. All levels except women singles. ALW is just widening her level against everyone else. She is just a beast, needs to play with the men.

Storing a paddle in a climate controlled cabinet does not seem like cheating.

About the balls. I ordered a paddle and they said they were sending Selkirk balls (it was a Selkirk paddle) and when I got them, they said they were out of Selkirk balls and sent me two DuraFast 40's.

It amazes me that you are now just realizing that the right side player should be aggressive. There have always been 2 sides of the court so why would you ever think that only one side can be aggressive. Just like a couple of years ago everyone said you shouldn't lob, well everyone's lobbing now. Don't have the mindset of absolutes , keep an open mind and your game will keep moving forward.
