I've never been a TM fan, and this childish, unprofessional behavior just cemented my decision to never root for him again.

@@MagicPickleball dude has no backhand game from the baseline. There are 4.0 rec players with better backhands than TM
The game has changed very rapidly in the past year. Dude has been busy capitalizing on the business side instead of working on new shots. His backhand volleys are pretty med as well.
@@MagicPickleball his punch volley is solid but yeah no offense really at the pro level on the backhand side. Almost every top pro has a two hander now and a two hand top spin dink. He probably makes the most money of any pro with his brand so good for him but he’s a douchebag honestly

Could you guys make a suggestion to the tour about improving line calls. Take 2 more net cams and put them down both lines. Also on a side note, they should put some advertising in the gap between the pole and net.

I appreciate this a lot! I’ve been drilling way more and working on being more aggressive. I’ve been working with J.Peery quite a bit and he’s been helping me.
Tyler, for sure laugh when Jimmy is being Jimmy! It doesn’t mean you are complicit, it means you’re entertained (as are we). Of course they will try to say “it means you’re complicit” but don’t take their bait. You be you!
PB doesn’t need a Hawkeye system, just 4 cameras pointed down the lines would be enough. Too many times the angle is bad, or someone’s head is in the way. As important as one line call could be…there’s no excuse for not having 4 cameras pointed down the lines on CHAMPIONSHIP court.

TM's demand to be traded is similar to demands made in the NBA over the years, where players have either asked to be traded or asked that a member if his team be traded. I recall that early in his career, Magic Johnson caused one of his Laker teammates to be traded.

If I’m the MLP, I’d say screw the randomized pool, we need maximum conflict this first event in Atlanta. Group A will be Utah and Orlando for obvious reasons, New Jersey since ALW has problems with Fed for calling her a b*tch and Tyler for losing that 1 point that costed her team the dreambreaker and the match, the last team you could put a couple different teams. You could put Texas because Christian Alshon and/or Pablo Tellez can start something at anytime or you could put St. Louis since Tyson has a problem losing to kids as evident in the season he was on New York. Do it MLP. You have to.
Don’t give them anymore ideas.

PB vs tennis: while similar because of racket sports, both require different set of skills. I think tennis purists look at PB and automatically think it’s a “lesser” sport. I like the analogy that PB is easy to learn and difficult to master. Both sports look easy to play but on the court is more difficult to execute. Not sure why people keep trying to say one is easier or harder than another. It’s easier or harder depending on your own strengths and weaknesses.

@jimmy where can the masses get one of those hats?!?!?! Also, I know this would likely never happen, but curious to hear your discourse on a potential 'Only wooden paddle' pro tourney. There is always so much to be said about the paddle tech and paddles becoming hotter and hotter seemingly each month, I think it would be fun to see an all wooden paddle pro tournament where no one can complain about paddles, everyone uses the same one. Any opinions on who would do well in that environment? Who would be less effective? Could be a fun annual tourney, more light hearted and take people back to the true roots of the sport.

I am visiting SoCal, and because my brothers won't play pickleball, we all played tennis. I absolutely prefer pickleball because the rallys last longer, the engagement is greater, and the ability to put the ball away is harder than tennis. Not to mention, I laugh more!

Jack Sock is definitely in the best position of anyone to comment on the issue of the relative skills involved in Tennis vs Pickleball. I'm waiting for his take on that.
There are so many more PPA events now it will take AL less time to get from 100 to 200 titles.
Agreed, but there should be more talent which *should* make it more competitive. Also, ALW rarely plays all tournaments. But yes, she is the most dominant force by a LONG shot right now.
@@morekingofthecourt I keep telling myself that too. But then I remember she’s only 17 and who knows what her upside is and she has the drive to be the best for the next 3-4 years. I hope you’re right about there being more competition. I don’t mind seeing her dominate…but I’d like to see her have to push harder to win instead of winning every match so easily.
If Tyson was one of the people who was an instrumental first domino to MLP, why in the world would Conner “choose” (the word Jimmy used a lot in saying Tyson “chosen MLP) Tyson first?
I believe CP thought he would be an "adult" about the situation and move forward, clearly, that didn't happen.

TM’s rant & behavior at that tournament was witnessed by the spectators AND, it’s on tape, somewhere. He is definitely on the way down.
The first portion of his rant was, but after a little, I don't think the cameras caught it all... it was bad.
TM is one of my favorite players to watch, and Vich is another one of the great new players and think if TM is playing at his pre-injury level, it will be an outstanding lineup! If TM didn't want to play on a given team (for whatever reason) and could swing a trade, good on him. If given the choice, most of us would not choose to work with somebody we don't like. BTW: I saw Tyler play with Conner at the indoor championship in MN a few weeks back, some really strong play......... I also still don't understand why the chunky monkey on the left never stops his PA whining about Tyson.... well yeah, I do..... he needs something to add

Tyson was toxic. He said he didn't want to play for 2/3 players that were on the team. TM doesn't like the owners of the team so it was easier to move him rather than shuffle everything else.

Agreed ... everybody can read between the lines. KOTC started it, TM overreached. Not a good look for the sport or either side. Jimmy just can't help gossiping. Spread the private life of BJ, before kissing BJ's ass when he became TL's teammate and guest of the show. Trolled ALW for the RV and her BF until ALW became such a dominant force in all women's events, and until CA started winning gold medals.

Not a fan of TM at all but his MLP move just seems like a “pro sports” move to me. Look at pro doubles. Players change partners all the time and occasionally one will dump the other to get ahead. If MLP survives you will see more moves like TMs in the future. It would have been cool to see you, Tyler and McGoofy work it out on court but it isn’t in his DNA, apparently.
Agreed. We don't deny trading or dropping or anything like that, its the fact that TM refused to even attempt to work things out is what is sad. Players get traded, dropped, whatever, all the time. But most players have a positive attitude to work things out and be optimistic.
Regarding the tennis vs. pickleball debate, Jack Sock is playing pro pickleball, playing the best players in the game, and holding his own, at the very least. Now Reverse that. Could Ben Johns and Anna Leigh play tennis at the pro level? No.
That is true, and Jack S has talked about this briefly in interviews. (I think saying PB is harder than people give credit for)
I also agree Ben/ALW would not be able to convert to Tennis and be a top player in the world, no chance...(I dont think they would disagree either)
With Jack, while he is insanely talented, people forget that he's been playing since 2017 and his mxd is a top 2 female, so that helps... I dont think he's made any finals in singles or MD yet. (His medal is with ALW when BJ wasn't there)
Jack is incredible, a very nice and charismatic guy who is amazing for the sport. Hope he continues his success.

I know from first hand experience that pickleball is a lot tougher than people give it credit for! I have a lot of respect for people/pros who play it at a high level. I do think it's a mistake when comparisons are made between pickleball and other sports (particularly at the professional level) because it invites the reverse comparison, as mentioned in my previous comment.

Disagree with Tyson’s move all you want, but let’s not pretend this is the first time a “big name” athlete forced a trade in a professional team sport. It’s been an issue in the NBA. And Elway, Manning, and others have made it known to teams that they would not play if drafted by them. Pardoe, fully aware of the drama, is responsible for the circumstances and I respect Tyson’s move more than ALW’s (IF she/her entourage lied to teams about the number of events she’d play in order to land with NJ).
Jimmy keeps saying he doesn't understand why Tyson wasn't content to stay on with Utah, and I can't figure out if he is stupid or disingenuous. Anybody should be able to easily understand. If TM can be traded to a team he wants to be on, play with people he wants to play with, and enjoy his time on the court with team members he likes. I mean whether you agree or not (which really only means something to you) is one thing, but to not understand makes you look pretty thick.

Auggie is the best lefty on tour. Tyler gets dropped to challenger next year. Jimmy should get some tatoos for skin thinning. Jimmy has created a stir but has not helped Tyler's pickleball career. I wouldn't want to play with the Tyler/Jimmy circus either if I'm Tyson.

You're right... we actually have a picture of him in our studio that we idolize each time we record our pod. I didn't realize it was so obvious!
We actually think TM is the #1 player. Way better than everyone else and has way more sponsors than everyone else! Not sure why everyone else even dares to compete with him on the scene.
