Ben shooshed Rachel because she screamed for a shot she thought was a winner that Ben got back. No hinderance was called, but she basically just screamed during the hands battle.

With all due respect. I live in DC and went to all 4 days of the MLP event. I parked on the street and had no issue. RFK is being torn down and no homeless people live in it. DC leases the land from the federal government and the lease extension is being held up by the Senate before anything can be done with the land.
The homes behind the practice courts are not the projects. I am sorry that your player had to deal with the cat calling and that people felt uncomfortable. I live in DC 5 miles away from that facility which I didn't even know existed.
I hope the MLP returns. If you do come back I will be happy to recommend places to stay

@@rebekahcalano417 thank you. I just wanted to set the record straight. DC is home for me and saying that homeless people live in RFK was absolutely absurd. We want to do something with that land but can't because of bureaucratic BS.
I do feel bad for teams that got AirBnBs in not so ideal locations but the facility itself was not in a bad area right off East Cap
MLP is by far the best pro pickleball format for excitement. The energy at D.C. was off the charts for streaming , with it being a 'home team' venue. I caught almost all the CC matches.... I hate to tell you Jimmy and Tyler its going to be a Loong season for you guys...
We're ready for a Loong season. The atmosphere was electric there, so much fun and high energy and of course, amazing pickleball.

DC was off the chain it was so awesome. It was packed all weekend and it was so fun. Mlp really is just the best format for in person
The problem is, it's the opposite for online and TV viewers.
@@WisdomInsightReality I think when you have those competitive matchups, I think it translates well, but for the matches that aren't close, its slow.
Since there is no MLP in my town, I pick my favorite team based on the players drafted. If the players keep changing teams, it’s hard to settle on one team to support.
Spencer smith did really well this mlp. Caught his last game against jack munro and he did really well
Spencer did great. He was the best player on the entire team.

The shock and squeeze ownership groups are supporting their teams like good ownership groups should.
Totally agree... only issue is not sure if every ownership group has that capital to spend like they are... but yes, that is what all teams should strive for.
Joola is not going to disappear, they're simply a PPA/MLP/UPA-A conduit, being used too bankrupt the bush league USAP.
Bears sucked..watched most of there matches and they sucked.. 😊 hopefully DJ is back and can bring positive energy to the team.. They need it.. Jimmy looked like someone stole his ice-cream cone when they put him on camera during the matches I saw.. Body language wasn't good..😊

I wish MLP stopped doing player drafts. We want connections to players within the teams they are on.
Agreed.... while its entertaining, its hard to keep up with and is stressful for most players. Hard to build any story around players/teams when players are changing teams every 2-3 months
Jimmy I warned you! Benning Road is notorious in SE DC/PG County.
Also with three players per team that’s also introducing more players to the highest levels of MLP. 24 players (12 men and 12 Women) in premier, and 20 (10 men and 10 women) in challenger it’s huge for growing the sport. More players equals more exposure

Next time check with people who live in the area before booking. I guess you could have slept on the courts since they didn't have lights. MLP - There's nothing like it! What a great slogan...mediocre streaming video quality, subpar audio quality and the minimum wage monkey manning the scoreboard can't provide timely updates throughout the various games/matches. One would never know that this is a production with millions of dollars involved...especially when there are better video feeds streaming from attendees instagram and Facebook live feeds 🙄
I keep seeing Callie playing with all the different paddle Brand. She needs a high end paddle. She’s not good enough to keep switching between companies and definitely should be playing with head if she wants to play a lot better.
I see you no longer talk about paddle reset. Is it still a viable solution for your paddle?

I'm sorry MLP is a joke, nothing against the players but when you have owners yelling and taunting refs , the line calls, the players maturity level and let's be real you have 150 60 year olds in the stands.

Carolina Pickleball Club has to improve their women's doubles and mixed matches with Colin. I feel like Andrea and Jesse will figure it out as the MLP season progresses. If Jesse won with Lacy then she can win with Koop.
Agreed. I imagine they'll get it figured out as well. Though the game is changing quickly, Jessie/Koop are veterans of the game for a reason..I imagine they'll be fine.

I'll take a Rachel scream after a point any day over a tennis grunt. She's just a fiery competitor like AB. If grunting becomes a thing, I'm done.
I'm surprised that there is not a bigger push to have the Gearbox Pro Power paddles banned. They have more power than any of the Joola paddles and yet there appears to be nothing happening there. And worse yet, you can't even hear them because they sound the same for a moderate or hard shot.
Jimmy and Tyler, please stay away from the shoulda, coulda, woulda, its the same old tired song and dance we hear from losing teams. And scrap the excuse stats too, here's a stat for you, that actually does have some meaning, food for thought. Roger Federer: "I've won very close to 80% of my professional tennis matches, at the same time, I've won just less the 54% of my points throughout all of those matches.
Roger F is the GOAT and that speech was amazing.
Come on guys, how can you say that "one match" out of the entire event represents how good the MLP can be. Thats laughable, as it stands, it's not even close to being a sustainable business model.
1. Streaming quality is horrible
2. The team names appear on screen, but not the actual players representing those teams does not.
3. The score is always incorrect
4. You're doing commentator by commitee/who has a pulse.
5. Commentators repeatedy saying the excitement is palpable, does not translate, their job is to convey this excitement and make us excited.
I didn’t think that Allyce’s high energy style matched with James and Dekel who have a more low-key and focused style of play. I wasn’t surprised that she was traded for Glozman who would be a better fit for the team. Hopefully Rachel will cool it down some too.

You sound just like an English teacher. Our deepest condolences for not being 100% correct in our grammar, this is something we will try for in future episodes. I think in our incorrect thinking, we were using the word “venue” as the exact place for the tournament and “location” more of a general term for location and surrounding areas.

@@morekingofthecourt How leagues work. How European sponsors work for soccer, Manchester United, Juventus, Real Madrid.. all have sponsors across the front of their jerseys. So it makes sense DC does the same.
But if you want to check out sponsors and names, check out Italian volleyball. Named after fashion shoes, whatever. Leo Shoes Modena Volley. Gas Sales Piacienza Volley.. etc.
As a fan, I understand how leagues work - none of our major sports has a champion every weekend. It's a "season", and at the end of the "season", there will be playoffs.
@@EddieDBama gotcha... I guess I was comparing it a bit more to Baseball, Basketball, Football, and many other sports that have the team's name on the front of the shirt...I think that's actually a bit more common.
You're correct, most sports don't have a champion every weekend. For MLP, they did which is what the public is mostly accustomed to and many still prefer that format.
