Tyler, you played some incredible pickleball in Orange County! I hope that you and James get to team up again as you compliment one another very well. That line call that hosed you in men’s doubles further underscores the need for the PPA to roll out a better replay system/ line call automation. It’s an ongoing eyesore (pun intended) to a league claiming to be the utmost representation of the sport.

CJ needs to get over the net cords and just play. He lets those situations get the best of him and he plays bad. At the pro level, he needs to forget about it, refocus, and play. Or BJ should seriously consider replacing CJ.

Ben and Colin's last win was in LA, 5 tournaments ago.
The venue is beautiful, but the seating is limited, and sitting on cement is uncomfortable. Also, it's not the best venue for vendors with booths surrounding the center court. Due to the limited seating, people who cannot find a seat stand three deep in front of the booths, preventing traffic. A sponsorship opportunity to provide cushions would be nice. Just FYI.

Hey guys you were singing the praises of the 1st gen Vulcan ball. When there were a lot of complaints. Now you sing the praises of the 2nd Gen ball and acknowledge there were problems with 1st gen.
What did we say back then?
That it was the official ball of the PPA Tour and MLP?
That we love the color?
I don’t recall saying it’s perfect, in fact I’ve always said every ball is imperfect, even this current gen2 ball.
The main complaint with gen 1 was that it got out of round, this new gen 2 ball, seems to have improved significantly on that.
I was at San Clemente, agree that level of play is getting more parity, competitive. All levels except women singles. ALW is just widening her level against everyone else. She is just a beast, needs to play with the men.
The half the courts in Logan have bad lighting.
I was courtside for Tyler's R16 against Tyson and Dekel. I was sitting behind the baseline where the controversial call was made. I couldn't tell if it was in or out. It was too close to call from my vantage point. It was an awesome match and it was very unfortunate to have a controversial call play such a big role. It's inexcusable that GS doesn't have a replay system. For the Rd of 16 matches they only used two courts (CC and GS). PPA can't pony up for a replay system, really?!?
BTW, you guys failed to mention that the main deciding factor on that call was Pablo Tellez weighing in from the sideline saw it out. He did have a very good view of it since he was standing parallel with the baseline. Tyson didn't see it, Dekel thought it was out but wasn't positive. If Tellez didn't confirm his call I think Dekel and Tyson overturn their call. Great match regardless though.

Agreed with not having challenge on gs, very bad.
We did fail to mention that, also Travis R was there who he claimed it was out, however knowing his public dislike of me, hard to believe what he says. As we said, there were also many that did see it in, I’d still say probably 80% saw ball in…and myself included.
Hoping changes are made so the right calls always happen.

About the balls. I ordered a paddle and they said they were sending Selkirk balls (it was a Selkirk paddle) and when I got them, they said they were out of Selkirk balls and sent me two DuraFast 40's.
They will have Colin "retire" and keep him on the payroll to coach.
I think Ben and Collin would start dominating again if Collin would change his mentality of being only defensive and relying on Ben for all offense. Dylan is the best right side player because he is not only defensive but aggressive offensively. Collin has trained to not be offensive and let Ben do it all. The level of play is too good to continue that strategy. There are so many balls that Dylan would have crushed that Collin just resets. Collin has the skill to be aggressive, now he needs the will and the nod of approval from Ben to actually be aggressive.

That was painful and frustrating to watch during the comeback. I wanted them to win so bad just to see new champs. Definitely a choke they were so overwhelmed they forgot to use their time outs.

It amazes me that you are now just realizing that the right side player should be aggressive. There have always been 2 sides of the court so why would you ever think that only one side can be aggressive. Just like a couple of years ago everyone said you shouldn't lob, well everyone's lobbing now. Don't have the mindset of absolutes , keep an open mind and your game will keep moving forward.
Because Ben and Collin have won a million titles with Collin not being aggressive. So everyone was emulating a winner.
Storing a paddle in a climate controlled cabinet does not seem like cheating.
It’s crazy everyone’s getting leaner and it’s like Jimmy’s taking their weight and putting it on. Maybe it’s just the camera that had 50 pounds.

Women’s doubles is boring compared to men’s. Men’s is way more fun to watch and I would have never thought I’d say that year or 2 ago.
