Am moving away from the 24k and 9999 coins as will not work so well to hide, mixed in your change. Also will scratch, ding and chip so easily. Study what worked so well in the past. Even the Romans learned better to keep it around 90+ % purity rather than the 98% pure that the empire started out with. Again, the reason they minted bronz coins because of their durability over pure copper. Sure, we have junk silver, and most have the purest of bullion already. Why not have some near pure but won't chip at the slightest tap? BTW, junk gold is a fortune these days and you wonder why.

As much as I love the buffalo design so much, I like better that eagles are 22k with little silver along with copper, so it will not chip and scratch so easily and can be mixed in your change if ever had to hide it among your pocket change and on the go bartering should or when that day arrives.

I've always liked Philharmonics. Though they will spot up with dark tarnish milk spots if left unsealed. They along with Krugerrands are good strategic alternative to marked up silver eagles that may not be so popular outside the US as US is becoming less & less popular these days.
