I am an award winning singer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist trying to bring the essence of live music to online videos.
The majority of the videos I share are live, one take videos with no overdubs. Some of them are songs I’ve just learned, some are old favourites and some are my original compositions. They’re not meant to perfect but they are meant to be musical and I hope you enjoy them.

Suzanne - Leonard Cohen One Take Cover by Tara Dunphy
I love this song. I played it this week at a memorial for a man who had learned it as his first song on guitar, which means playing it over and over again and I thought "what a perfect choice!" It has a simple chord structure so it wouldn't be too hard to get your head around and the melody is just lovely, it comes in waves, each phrase is so poetic, it's wonderful to sing.
The memorial was beautiful and while I didn't know John, he was clearly beloved by many and he was a true music lover. It was my honour to sing this song for him.

Very nice, and truly a stunningly beautiful song. My two favorite versions, which are recommended to all, are by Fairport Convention and (yes, really) Spanky and Our Gang. I love the double tracking of your vocal.

you can sing anything and you play a wonderful fiddle but your acoustic guitar is painful to my ears after hearing a few of your songs in succession. i think because its country acoustic rather than folk acoustic - phil ochs was never considered s guitar player but his playing always supplely supported the song…
Well, I guess the only thing I can suggest is not listening to the songs if it’s that painful. Nothing will please everyone and I’m ok with that 😊
