They have no choice but to sell you the car at the agreed price. You have entered a contract. It is illegal to try to change the price.

Ive driven volvo’s for 35 years and thats the last place id ever go , they can fit new parts till its fixed but they cant actually fix anything all at merc labour prices .had a full clutch on a v70 d5 years ago , had to come back out three times before it was drivable , the first time they parked it ready for collection but i couldn’t pull out of the space , nor could three of the mechanics , then the burger van guy said theyd wheeled it in the space by hand , the clutch plate wasn’t pre tensioned , twice , witch tells me they never had it apart the second time , by the third attempt it was just drivable . £1759 . Never again.

Have a think about it might have done you a favour after 4 years payment you still owe 23k it wont be worth anything like that in 4 years, PCP not to sure about low monthly payments then big amount at end or hand back + £££ usually their way.

Give them a break! They made a mistake, it should have been listed at £39900, quite obviously and they just can’t sell it for a massive loss. Man it up and move on.

It's not cancer, it's not motor neurone disease, GET OVER IT. It so IS about you not getting the car at the stupid price. They made a pricing error. When they discovered their mistake they rectified it. They should give you some compensation for your trouble, time and journey but that's it. Your rant is a complete waste of time watching. I’ve also had this and I did consult a lawyer .The garage in question were enrolled on the uk approved motor trader federation (license.) My argument was always that if I had made the error would they have refunded me the difference.NO ! The case never went to court but I did end up with the car , BUT I had to pay a little extra for all the service prep work etc . My lawyer said that it would probably cost me more in legal fees etc than to accept the deal . It ended very acrimoniously with no sales personnel or manager handing the car over , we had to collect the keys from the receptionist in fact It was my wife as I was not allowed on their premises.( being the plaintiff) The garage I had the miss dealing with was a small franchise, not like Marshall’s I’d talk to a lawyer and get him to advise you on your position before accepting any deposit/costs refund. Dodged a bullet whatever the price

MARSHALL LAND ROVER CAMBRIDGE READ THIS!!! We bought a new 65 plate land rover discovery sport. After 1500 miles the car filled with smoke with my wife driving and she thought it was on fire. Got a mechanic out. Smoke had stopped. Back to a main dealer not Marshall as they were too far. No fault found. Fast forward to this happening x6 and the car was back at Marshall Cambridge as on the last occasion the steering failed. Turned out to be caused by an omitted DPF filter gasket and on illegal dpf soot burn off the hot gas was going onto and electrical junction that included the steering motor electrics. I think they had our car from September 2016 we bought it Xmas eve 2015. Land rover CRC told me that Marshall told him that they will not look at the car until the new year and we are past the legal time to reject it for a full refund. He lost his job for telling me this info. My car sat in the corner of their car park until January 2017 until they looked at it. I had a base model loan car and was being threatened every Friday by land rover crc that they needed my loan car back. On one phone call to enquire why my car was not being looked at I was told that I was a toxic customer. Absolutely vile lying scum. If you buy any car from them then you are a fool. Absolutely the worst car buying experience and treatment that I have ever had. The 1980s dodgy dealers never went away, they all went to work for Marshall. It seems that after land rover have made and sold you a lemon, they are not responsible for it. Thus then passes to selling dealer and black horse finance so you are left out in the cold and at the mercy of the dealers lies. With hind sight I should have gotten a solicitor much earlier on and not let them drag it on for so long. A bit like this rant but you have been warned people. And Marshall if you read this and don't like it then I will happily see you in court because every word is true.

Bought a VW polo estate for £75 and with fees £130 in total.(1989 car in 2003) Took for MOT it failed tyres hand brake and drivers wing with emissions We fixed car for £87 and I sold it for £300. I bought a Vauxhall Astra Twin top 1.9 CDTI Its low mileage for 17 year old car couple of marks on bumper corner oh and the roof needs a £20 quid cog fix.2007 plate good service history Maybe I am getting a bit old in the tooth I paid £1300 originally paid £130 collection fee. Fresh mot £50 no issues and a Valet for £80 new battery £60 with a drivers door switch £20 and Diagnostic check £70 and another mot at £50.total £1700 excluding tax and insurance £535.50 (tax) and about £1000 insurance.. Other day roof plays up People one guy was £100 quid and didn't really want car because a diesel. Then other guy I gave him £20 on putting roof back up but hopefully knowing the fault he offered me £200.. Was well insulted.. Reason I pulled car out its been real nice weather and convertible car is good seller in this period. I have it on Market place £1695 . But another blast of nice weather which I am sure we will get all day long fixed should make £2500..? Tell me if I am wrong..

Welcome to "post COVID". It is not just car dealers that cannot be competent, it seems that it is every business or government body or council in the world who are totally incompetent. Every time you pick up the phone or approach anyone to resolve anything or "do their job as they should", just expect to be disappointed, sorry to say.

The main dealer staff are professional car dealers and they would all know what the value and selling price, indeed how much the car owes to the dealership during the negotiation and sale. However, I expect nothing better from large dealerships. They seem to be almost universally incompetent and indeed often dishonest both on the sales and after sales side. I’ve dealt with very many different dealers and worked in sales for a decade for a more industrial dealership business which also had a fleet of vehicles that were main dealer serviced. The most incompetent and dishonest were Mercedes and Audi dealerships, wherever you tried. Most disconcerting. I once bought an ‘ex management Audi 90 Quattro’ obviously many years ago now, which I specifically asked and said that I didn’t want one that was raced or rallied. The dealer principal insisted that it was a senior management car. Until, that is, some weeks after I took delivery there was an article written by Sue Baker in the Sunday Observer, covering the Audi Performance Driving School. In it there was a picture of my car, number plate clearly visible, with a big driving school sticker on the door, going round a corner of a race track almost on its side. Showed the picture to the dealer owner and I’ve never seen the blood drain from someone’s face so quickly in my life. I really thought he was having a seizure.

Cheap cars are great for a quick flip after a minor service, good wash ect but if you buy a lemon/problems then the profits quickly diminish and are a pain to deal with. I’ve yet to buy a car from auction which have never had any issues, there’s always a reason the previous owner has got rid of it rather than sell it privately.

Looking at the age, mileage, condition, even with the low miles and FSH you’d be good to get £1,100 for it as it is. Even with the bumper corners, and arches painted it’s a maximum £1,500 car. Personally, i’d G3 compound polish it, then wax over the whole car, put the mats in the washer/dryer and then put it up for £1,245. It says “no reserve” on the window, so I guess it a “red dot” which means the very basic of checks. My guess it sold for £450 minus any fees. Still around £400 profits

You saw a car at Marshalls that was being offered at less than trade and you thought you could have one over on them. Why else would you have travelled all that way and as a car trader you weren't taking time off work, but just doing what car traders do! They saw their mistake in time and pointed out the law to you . They have to get you to sign the T's & C's which are printed in black & white so you can read them. The most disgusting part is that you ran to CZcams to squinny instead of taking it on the chin when your offer to scam them was declined. If, as some of your followers feel, that you can't sink lower than a car dealer, believe me, there is one much lower, a car trader!

You failed to mention how the 9k discount actually happened..... They would have never agreed to that, not from a dealership.... From auction or trade yes maybe.... But no no no. You are being dishonest. You mention the word honour but you yourself are trying to shaft the dealership, KNOWING they have made a mistake. Please give the full details and truth about how this discount was agreed and understood etc etc.... You've exposed your own dishonesty, but I guess you do need content don't ya.... Someone’s made a massive cockup there and the three people involved should have clocked the pricing error, but on the flip side, as someone who works in car sales, customers fairly frequently back out of deals when the finance is approved, order form signed etc and it’s not an issue as they haven’t taken delivery - but if customers can do it even when a signed order form is in place, so can dealers. Should have been picked up way before the Friday though, should have been picked up the day you signed an order form.. also pretty embarrassing that none of the managers at Volvo Derby knew roughly in their head what the car owed if they’re so keen to sell it (probably overage stock). Any sales manager worth their salt would know roughly what that car would be worth & stand at on the books, alarm bells should’ve been ringing when an order form came through at £30500…

Doesn’t work like that. Unless you actually paid in full or have a contract in writing they can back out at any stage. Works same as with a supermarket. If you get to the checkout and they tell you the wrong price is on the shelf or product, you can moan all you like but they have no legal obligation to sell you the item at the wrong price. If you went up there with cash and paid for it in full and then they later found the price was wrong, they couldn’t back out

Know what, I’m a dealer also and you are just hard work, you well knew this car was underpriced and you were just trying to take the piss but got rumbled. I wouldn’t have given you a penny extra just not to deal with you. Sellers have the right to be picky in this market. Also, stop creating while driving, you’re a fucking danger to women and children

I used to like the Audi service location I went to but I think Marshall bought them and then customer service went pants.. change in culture.. and they didn't fix a problem (I found the issue before leaving parking lot) once too until chased. I ended up giving up on Audi when I got a new car.
