- Today in the life of a car trader, I buy a cheap R50 Mini Cooper for £175 hammer price at BCA car auction and go through the collection, first drive and repairs involved (with full costs explained). This is to show you types of cars you can buy, and potentially the expenses involved when bargain hunting in the car trade... Hope you all enjoy!

I was waiting for the miss fire bud, tbh it'll be a valve burning out, it's nearly standard on that 1.6 petrol, you'll get a code for number 2 pot miss fire, basically after so many duty cycles the ecu will turn that cylinder off, that's why it'll be OK at first, most people go the spark plug, coil pac route and can't understand why it's not sorted, maybe it's in its early stages and you can get rid, be ready for the comeback tho bud.
Thanks for the heads up! I always found the 2006 onwards facelift model to be the unreliable one compare to the r50/r53.
@@BuySellCarsTV no mate early ones are rubbish engines and chocolate gearboxs, power steering motors, head gaskets, burnt valves, tbh I've just taken a loss on a 59 plate cooper d, lumpy low down, took 895 for it, glad to get rid, left it stood and it even lost its immobiliser code, nightmare cars, paid 3k for another, left it ticking over and chain came thru top of engine, lost 2k on that, had a mint 1 owner 04 plate the other mth, full BM history, same thing, slight miss fire, had to refund. Unfortunately there not worth doing the head at that price point, hope your lucky with yours, bagging a cheap car at auction probably just means it's got a very low reserve to get rid of it tbh, especially if it's a none franchise dealer p ex.
What about the brake pads?
Fantastic video. Could you please share how you do the insurance when you are buying and selling?
I have trade insurance, but I will make a video soon explaining what you need to become a car trader!
@BuySellCarsTV thank you very much, really appreciate it
That will be great
Thanks for sharing your experience
Trade insurance is a killer at those mo 🤬
I’d love to know which action house you bought this from. I buy cars from BCA all the time and your lucky if you can get a grade 5 non runner out of there for less that £225 hammer price . Great video though mate 👍
Thanks pal, this was from BCA Walsall.
Bargain mate well done 👍
Great price 👍 got mine higher spec for 150 so they can be had
👍🏾
How much you asking for it brother?
Car should be a quick seller bro 👍🏼
Great price but not as cheap as what I paid for my last buy 🤣🤣
I've had loads of minis and when you add the losses due to all the nightmare faults to the profits, say over 20 I'll have just broke even, I won't touch one now, any spec any year.
Don't blame you that's why they go cheap as everyone is scared I picked one up high spec for 150 quid check it out
Is the steering ok on this? Common on them
Easy fixes tho
Where do you advertise you cars? For £20 it’s not auto trader? Assuming eBay?
Autotrader under a grand is 11.95,up to 2k is about 17.99 mate. Trade anyway, don't know about private.
Yea true his a car trader has his on Ltd company

Yes you’ll need to apply with BCA as it’s all online now.
1500 alday long that's what I'm putting mine up for less miles and big spec apart from panoramic roof 🙄
Pan roof is a key helper with any car sale!
