So, instead of just saying the the contract terms and conditions he signed worked in the dealers favour, no surprise there.. look at this totally different range rover!! Im a winner!!
He's a car dealer... standard behaviour.
If that's his view of being honest with his viewers, then I never ever want to buy a car from him!
Zero understanding of legal rights when it comes to buying and selling cars yet he apparently has a car business..
Glad you've come to your senses and left the battle.
It’s a good story to share, so happy to hear it, if anything you have come out on top with a better car for a better deal, look forward to more content
Bro if you seen a vehicle going for £39000 usually for £30,500 you should have brought it straight away after video and servicing mot questions instead you took the piss purchasing it if you brought it there and then they wouldn’t have been able to do nothing after. I bought a Audi s3 2018 at the time from Marshall it was listed for £29,990 usually £35000 I sent them a £500 deposit and picked it up the next day
What a great deal! I think it worked out in the end for you with the newer RR. Subscribed and followed on IG.
Congratulations, stunning car and Very attractive colour combo, I’ve had three L405 Range Rovers and similar to you with little issues. Looking forward to the video on security which is still to some extent the elephant in the room, noticed there’s a modest recovery on auction prices with these recently.
Thank you :) they are great cars!
This car looks way better than the other RR. Good informative content. 👍
Thanks, it’s something different!
Thank you for the chance / opportunity. We lost our car over a year ago after failing MOT & the cost of living crisis. So got to be in to win. We are enjoying your content and thanks for sharing.
Cheers
Sorry to hear that! I’m glad you are enjoying the content.
Any reason why you couldn't use your existing finance agreement on the new purchase?
The majority of people that go on about the reliability of JLR haven’t owned a JLR!
I’m not saying that they don’t have their faults, they most definitely do but it has been way over hyped by people that just hear stories.
I drive a 2006 Range Rover sport. I’ve had it for almost 2 years and only had 1 real issue which cost just £150 to fix. I did the labour work myself and sent the electrical part off for repair. Had I have got it done by a garage, it would have still only been around £400.
Maybe I’ve been lucky?
They are definitely a car worth giving a chance, especially now that the prices are dropping (which gives the buyer funds for repairs if needed 😂).
How much did it cost you in full out the door of BCA?
Seems to me he said a lot about the price EXCEPT what the price was he paid at auction Why?
Yeah, I was expecting to know the price on this one as well… 🤔
40% below trade price of £47,500 according to the video
Hi @BuySellCarTV
Nice car fab interior. Want wanna of those too. Really great content and channel. Keep up the good work👍 Love to buy a Range Rover. Biggest roadblock are the repair horror stories... Added to that the horrendous insurance. I've been quoted £5000 pa!! (a) Are Range Rover dealership warranties worth the paper they're written on? (b) where can I get 'reasonable' insurance quote from, if any, and/or how best to get lower the insurance quotes? Look forward to your advise.
Thanks for the comment!
Insurance is an individual basis, age, location etc, but I’ve only had crazy quotes with SVR’s. Don’t get me wrong, £1600 for a Range Rover or sport is still high compared to 5 years ago. Try some of the comparison websites?
LR warranty from my experience has been fine, but I can’t speak for specific dealers or recently as things may of changed.
He never said what the blue Range Rover cost from auction!
I think the mileage is a bit too high & the colour/interior isn’t ideal.
I used to buy regularly at auction, but I haven't for years now. The fees seem to have become ridiculous, right?
i would have thought the negative feedback would have been enough to honour the deal. To have made a positive video would have in no doubt generated trade in the long run.
So how much was the auction purchase??
I am a New subscriber & enjoying your vids(especially the Range Rover Saga) ,your clear ,straight talking & honest. One thing that is bugging me though & it could be that I’m old!,but I’m not keen on you keep referring to your subs including me,as ‘You Lot’ ! I know you don’t mean anything but it doesn’t sound good. Thanks👏🚙👊
Thanks for subscribing! I will try my best, I didn’t even realise!
im looking to buy a petrol manual transmission toyota avensis or lexus is250, (or mazda6 maybe), with around 100k mileage, i wanna spend between £2000 to £3000, up or down depending on the mileage and price,
dont you have a website, i really wanna see the cars you're selling,
or winning that car prize would be a bonus,
either way i enjoyed this video upload
What about insurance rates. All the RR in London are being stolen
How much you paid from bca?
Congrats on the RR great colour inside and out , you bought this at a auction near me so made me laugh
Love JLR products but they are in a mess right now especially the parts supply chain ⚠️
I wanted a Range Rover but values and insurance problems are rife at present so I've bought a mint 2016 XJ 351.
The interiors are Bentley quality and far superior to any German car by far for the price.
3 services in 63000 miles. Sounds risky but glad you resolved the situation.
I've serviced my car 3 times in 25,000 miles lol. The previous owner was the sort of person who thought "Service every 20k miles? That'll do? TPMS sensors in the tyres? Don't need those, just an added expense" even though they are runflats and it's legal requirement for sensors to be fitted on a car with runflat tyres.
Even worse he said it's done no miles since it's last service.
So it's done say 60k with only 2 services!!
@@bumpkinrocks Dang, thats bad.
Glad you’ve found the right car. 👍
i commented on your instagram, the car you sold with £2000 profit,
it was a ford, i think its a c-max,
where do you advertise your cars because i couldnt find a website
Did I miss it??? What was the out the door price of your RR?
Yeah right - how much did he actually pay for the car? He never says. Fucking annoying!
Love the interior colour so much better than black
The RR looks a very nice car, interior seems to be nearly spotless.
Great story I always thought the price that was on car that’s the price you pay dealers loss. But I think you ended up with a nicer car in the end wish you and the new car all the best
I have owned 4 Rangers Rovers / Land Rovers over the last 10 years, never having any major problem including having that use of a Autobiography works car , they are great cars , it a mith that they all have problems.
Same for me, numerous models over 7 years, no major issues.
Some of us don't do the whole Instagram thing mate!!
That's ok. You don't have to participate if you don't want to participate. No one is forcing you to do that.
@Locutus I would of liked to participate, but I don't have Instagram and not making one just to enter. Seems abit unfair to people/ loyal subscribers who don't have or want Instagram.
I try my best to make it accessible to everyone, not sure of exact details yet.
@@readstadee If you had watched the video, you would know life is not fair.
He is under no obligation to be on every social media platform. No one is requiring you to be active on IG. I have a Twitter account for things like this. I don't use it.
If this is a problem, either unsub, or don't say anything.
@Locutus alright mate, keep your hair on. Sorry we're not all geeks like you. Now stay behind your keyboard and feel like a big man, sad act.
Did you find a RR approved ivory jumper in the boot too? I can only see your head and hands
😂😂😂
Why did you not just admit that you didn’t win the argument? Than just saying “it wasn’t for me” If you can’t be honest about that why would someone trust you in buying a car from you?
You must have missed the bit at the start where he said that he didn't think he was going to win the argument. You must have also missed the bit him driving in a different RR because he realised that he wasn't going to win...
@@Locutus or he read past his bs exuse
@@slowpaceplop6375 His BS excuse was that he wasn't going to win and conceded defeat. Total BS, am I right?
What a negative nanny. Isn't there a rock somewhere that you should be under?.
Because he's a poncy egoist.
How much was the new car. Pain and agony. This is probably most relevant point of video or did i miss it 😂😂
For the people without calculators or ears he paid about £28,500 at auction
On the Marshall RR, a guy just won a case against cartier to get earrings for $28 instead of $28k, same principle as your case, but Mexican law is prob a bit different.
Look at shifting metal, they're doing a giveaway to their subscribers, they might have some advice for you.
Good idea, thanks!
If this was in fact a Land Rover approved car then it must meet their standard for genuine JLR extended warranty. You can pay to add this on to car if it passes an inspection at a main dealer (that it should pass considering they were marketing this as an approved vehicle in the first place ...).
Might help with the peace of mind aspect and an interesting video if they demand many £££'s work for it to now pass considering not so long back they considered it up to that standard!
Great idea, yes it would’ve been put through a health check prior to sale! Will look into this thanks!
What a lovely car you now have shame the other one didn't work out in your favour but I can't blame you for trying to get it as they say don't ask don't get looking forward to future videos
Yeah it’s worked out for the best, thank you!
Hi. I'm new to the channel. Good watching. Thanks.
Thank you!
the coolant pipes leak on top of the fuel tank, that feed rear seat heater, loss of coolant people assume the motor is using it sell them. its not its just a plastic pipe
That happened on my mates, only done 30k and not that old.
I have had two of them and done 60.000 miles with absolutely no reliability issues..
Thanks but how did you insure it?, that’s the question.
Trade plates?
Take any high end car that’s spec’d with as many toys as you get on a RR and you’ll get issues in some shape or form, I’ve even witnessed people comparing the reliability of one of these cars with a Toyota Yaris FFS !!
Toyota is king of reliability, no comparison 😂
How much? If you're on trader insurance it's fine.. Try insuring a keyless vogue privately.. Just not worth the outlay.
I’ve got regular insurance on this, not traders. It’s a higher risk car so I would not want to claim on traders policy.
JLR vehicles and in particular Strange Rovers are kak in terms of design, reliability, security, cost, depreciation, insurance, dealerships, etc.. They got even worse after TATA started to have a go making these Chelsea skips. I guess owning one would be like buying an overpriced cheap suit, best suited for the scrapyard IMO!!
You did the right thing leaving Marshall in the rear view mirror. Happy for you. Good luck with the channel mate.
Thanks mate!
Range Rovers & Land Rovers are not the money pit many people believe they are. It's when you try to run them on a shoestring that the problems occur (exactly the same with any car really).
Good vid again mate. Already subscribed and like you mentioned it would be nice for the free car to go to someone who may be looking to get started in the trade which is exactly what i am looking to do so this would definitely help me if i did win! :)
Thanks mate, I agree it would be nice!
One phone call to office of fair trading would of solved your problem
So as predicted by so many people Marshall’s contract won in the end you bottled the legal route due to cost and were advised by many to cut and run on video No 1.
Hope the car you bought in the end works out .
Shame the main dealer did not hand you the car at the confirmed price. I like the blue car more and the light interior is beautiful.
Great looking car, much more attractive than the rather miserable black car from Marshall not to mention this example having the Pirelli Scorpion versus whatever budget nonsense Marshall will have stuck on theirs. Regardless of T&C's if the deal was done, paperwork signed and hands shaken the deal ought to have been honoured mistake or not. Marshall have lost face massively over this whole fiasco. Thank you.
So basically the main dealer handed you your arse on a platter.
Your videos have ensured that, I personally will never buy a vehicle from a part of the Marshall group.
Marshall's car was eventually sold via Cinch for £40,980.
On your last two videos there were wildly different comments being made about the strength of your case and the costs of taking this to court. In fact, people are still making comments on those videos concerning their views of what the law states despite this Pt 3 video now appearing.
To round this off properly it would be beneficial and an education for everyone if you told everyone exactly what was the legal advice you received and how much did your lawyer charge you for that advice ie what was the definitive answer you received from your lawyer concerning your legal position and how much did it cost?
Clearly you were told that you were not likely to win but WHY were you not likely to win?
thats way nicer worked out better
Thank you!
How much did you pay for this from bca
Circa 30,000. The list price was 47,000 ish and he said he gets a 40% discount.
Rather have the £30k any day of the week
Well done on taking the right decision. Shame on Marshalls. I've always loved the Range Rover and I am looking forward to seeing the pitfalls of owning a luxury car like this.
While I applaud your perseverance in this matter and these crooks should be exposed - they're done you a favour by not selling you this old gal [you would have looked hood rich]
Lovely colour👍🏻
Thanks Andrew
I'm glad you found another RR to buy, don't understand why people are negative saying move on, everyone is that position would be pis*ed off including me, Marshall group & Volvo should of honoured the deal, the daft thing is they would of been happy to spend thousands in legal fees to defend it, There will be nothing wrong with that RR as you will know Land rover dealer will be in big debt with stocking finance and will have needed to move some stock on i'd say you got yourself an excellent buy
Best comment! You’ve summed up everything perfect 👏🏻
Fantastic looking SUV!
It looks nice but it's not a make of car I would take a chance on buying.
Looks a better Range Rover than the other one to be fair..👍onward an upward...
im a big believer in what ever happens, happens for a reason. nice choice
Me too, forget to say that in the video 😂
Happy you've found a car you like, as a car trader you did do a lot of whining last time. Like someone else said , turn the tables, and you'd have done the same.
Ian, I could never make a £9000 pricing error, so won’t be in that situation!
He bought from BCA who are owned by Constellation who also own..Marshall’s 😂
Cars nice but nearly 7 years old will come to have issues £40k no thank you
Love the colour of the new range rover
Thanks mate!
loving the channel
Thanks mate
This is just boring now
Yeah you couldnt exploit more those ones you went to exploid other one.
Well done good deal for you enjoy
That colour combo makes me think it’s Royal/Specialist Protection car.
I am so fed up with people slagging of The Brilliant Land Rover and Range Rover line up. Every year the least reliable cars are listed by different companies, and in 2023 the "Reliability Survey" of over 22,00 cars, not 1 car from Land Rover was on the list - NOT ONE. However there were 3 x BMW, 2 x Porche, 1 x Audi, 1 x Bentley (German engine) and truly surprising 2 x Japanese cars and 1 Ford (Built in USA). All these German cars owners are the very people who slag Range Rover off. I do love a bit of Karma.
I so do agree
I travel the motorways of Kent daily. The most common breakdowns are German Marques. I don’t own JLR & I won’t buy a German car either, after personal experience
Why do you have shares in the company?
Does your dad own the company for you to be this angry? 😂
@@nahinahad8787 I wish. I just get mad at Land rover taking such a hard beating all the time.
Great video and we all now know not to trust Marshall's......
Who are owned by Constellation Automotive Group who also own BCA 😂
i am glad that you have got that sorted out , but being disabled now really puts a spanner in the works , i was a insurance broker so know the in and outs and freinds with a lot of people , but good luck.
👍🏾
I find It right, what he did. If you suddently decide to witdraw from a deal with a dealer AS a customer. The Dealers will try to get as much Money as they can from you.
Everyone wants to know HOW MUCH DID YOU GET THIS NEW CAR FOR 🤷🏾♂️ spill the beans
Delighted Marshall Volvo stood their ground, you are a car trader and had you made the same error, you would have been quick to revert to your T&C's.
Enjoy the new car
£9000 is a big error, I could never make that mistake and not realise after 3 days.
@@BuySellCarsTV
The size of the error is irrelevant.
The T&C 's are there to protect both parties.
You realised the offer was to good to be true, and elected to pursue the purchase by highlighting the delership's error on Social Media.
Don't believe that angle played in your favour.
Marshalls were wholly correct in their stance and you knew this, but tried to garner public response by an ill guided socail media campaign.
But hey, the media click bait worked and I did enjoy the tale unfolding, ultimately knowing that rightly you would not get the vehicle.
As stated previuosly, enjoy the new purchase.
@@ft6666 Do you work at Marshall Volvo Derby by any chance 😂
He said in his first video if the positions were reversed, he would have stood by his mistake. I kind of believed him.
I've had my own business and sometimes I underquoted the price because I didn’t realise how much time it was going to take, but I never charged the customer more as it was my mistake. If I got their order wrong, I would make it right.
@@Locutus Thank you, I appreciate that!
Well done mate, don’t forget you can always take it to a JLR Main Dealer and ask them to do a warranty check on it at a cost and then you will be able to buy the JLR extended warranty 👍
You are what we call a chancer buddy!
Risk taker* 😂
This makes no sense at all exactly my argument in part 2 video why didn’t he just buy the autobiography version outright which is far more better and 10k mileage difference than this car ? Given that he is a car trader you would think that he is aware that the car is massively under priced. He had 24hours meaning he could have easily walked away with the car on the day he test drive the car . Then he goes and bought this one at probably just a few hundreds under £30200 compared to the Marshall car . This is a massive L in my view!! . In light of it all glad he got something in the end
So all the BS and you didn’t get the car
Shock
They did nothing wrong in the eyes of consumer law
I’m glad you moved on. But if you are concerned about having all that money tied up in the car, why not just get a bank loan and pay monthly
The other range rover looks much better, the one you bought looks basic.
You tried to rob from the dealer knowing it was a mistake, you are a scammer. Unlucky 😂😂😂😂😂
Awful colour combo. Thats why RR didn’t sell it, thats why it was cheap going through the block.
Your cheap car will have to be cheap when you bale out of it.
Interesting videos mate, thank you
It’s for personal use so I’m not looking at it from a profit perspective. Thanks!
I don't like the exterior colour. It reminds of a 90s RR. 😅
The interior colour is ok. I can some people loving that.
Colour combinations are a matter of personal taste. I happen to quite like the Byron Blue with Ivory interior!
Colour of car is a matter of personal taste. I used to be obsessed with this particular shade of blue, now I'm into champagne or gold or black coloured cars. I hate yellow on any cars, but i understand some people love it, so each to their own really.
@@Thatiswhatitismadefor very true!
If you are car trader? Buy from auction? it seems strange buy top retail from Marshals main car retailer outlet and paying on the never ever finance and loose thousands of pounds over the next few years? What ridiculous load of agro for nothing 🤔
Knowing that he's a trader the most likely scenario is that he wanted to buy from Marshals because he knew they'd fact up and he wanted to flip it. Especially since he bought this car also for 30k but from the auction. What doesn't make sense is him financing that car, especially at the 10% APR he was given. And now he claims he dropped 30k cash at the auction. Typical CZcams grifter, can't believe anything these people are saying.
@@hughjanus7354 Even if he wants to flip the car? the car belongs to the finance company. Yes you are spot on with your thoughts🤣
"I want the car"
"I want the car for £30k"
"You sold me the car for £30K..."
"We will sell it it to you for £39k, we can't sell it to you for £30k"
"You'll be hearing from my legal team"
"The car wasn't for me"... really? Pull the other one. More like you knew you were never going to win the legal battle. If that's "honesty" then I never want to buy a car from you!
They made a mistake witht he pricing pure and simple, and contracts and the law is designed to protect both the consumer and dealer, but come on mate the price was £9000 too cheap, so you had no chance of them sticking to it, and to be honest are stupid to think they were ever going to do so in the first place. If you wanted a car at trade price, why try to buy one from a dealer in the first place.
That spec you bought is pure aids 😂 blue steering wheel 🤮 hope it was very cheap…
You bottled it! You were in the right and failed to follow up. Not good bud
Sorry this is ridiculous now, the finance application is worthy of compensation as is your time, but there terms and conditions are explicit and it was an error, they are incompetent especially as three salesmen including Business Manager did not notice the error which is terrible product knowledge...but it would be nice if you could simply backdown gracefully I am sure their reputation has suffered , it would certainly give me pause for thought before buying a car off them.
Does not sound like a massive loss to them, if you want to buy cars for trade, then they would not get your business in the first place.
Bit of a damp squid this - just admit you bottled it and bought some auction house special - whippy do
I have to say you haven’t come across well in this story
Ths Whole Story is bonkers and dragged on and on.
The big boys won..
Never buy one of these without a warranty, and be wary buying from auction. if anything you’re better off buying a pre face lift privately or from a dealer which represent far better value for money and spend on the preventative maintenance making it less risky. Later vehicles sold through auction always raise alarm bells for me, these are trade cars sold back to trade? Because they never sold, the question is why? Range Rover prices are still dropping like a stone and are still in free fall. what looks great value one week, is far from it a week later, be fore warned.
"vehicles sold through auction always raise alarm bells for me, these are trade cars sold back to trade? Because they never sold, the question is why?" If you did a wee bit more research you would have found that a lot of insurance companies won't insure a Range Rover anymore due to the high theft rate and therefore, if people can't get insurance, then they ain't going to guy one are they?
@@Bootneck-RMC where to start with this one 🤔 there are a whole host of reasons other than the obvious one you stated to be fair, there’s the obvious reliability issues, which is then further compounded by the lack of parts resulting in vehicles being off the road for months, even for simple to fix faults, insurance premiums and thefts are only one element of this debacle. Then you have the dealers who have been price gauging them since Covid, massively over inflated prices, we are now seeing a return to pre Covid prices, hence the prices in free fall coupled with the aforementioned mentioned issues, people holding onto high prices because they got fleeced over the last years when they purchased. it’s all a bit of a cluster Fk to be honest. Simply watch one car in any auction, these are going round and round for sometimes weeks on end, when the do eventually sell, they then end up on a forecourt for weeks/months on end. Pre facelift make a far better proposition in the current market, half the price of face lifted, arguably a better car, comfier seats etc, and at less in depreciation. Unless you desperately need one (which nobody does) either wait for normalisation in the market, or simply buy another brand, buyer should almost certainly beware.
