It's a fundamental misunderstanding of Catholicism that we must have priests in order to pray, read, and interpret the Bible. Has the Church developed the framework from which we look at the Bible and intrepret it, sure as it should.

I know I'm late to this party and from a Great Grandmother 's perspective, it's more important to teach your children what to believe than how to behave. Yes, behavior is important, but belief will inform behavior. If kids don't have strong belief systems of their own, when the controls are removed, behavior alone can go out the window.

Momma you are glowing with this new lifestyle! Your humility and simplicity is inspiring. I know your not Catholic but reminds me of the virtues of Mary. Do you think fetal microchimerism of Jesus cells on Mary had some divine impact on Mary? His body was always apart of her! It reinforces my belief of her assumption. How can her body corrupt with Jesus’s cells merged inside of her? Blessing to you and your beautiful family! Love you guys!

I’m glad you are studying dispensationalism vs covenant theology. Yes the extreme form of dispensationalism sounds really crazy. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water though. Scripture really does support the literal Israel being a separate entity from the church. And that God’s promises to Israel will be literally fulfilled. …While also stating that Christians get to be grafted in and share in the inheritance of Israel in so many ways. Early believers seemed to have reason to believe that Jesus could come back any day / at any moment like premillennialists believe. Yet there are also signs of what will happen first so… balance that with waiting for the signs to show up. So many areas where theologians disagree seem to be a balancing act and it seems to me that the truth is somewhere in the middle. Perhaps dispensationalists drew from beliefs that the early church had, and covenant theologians drew from beliefs that the early church had. Perhaps the truth is a mixture of both. I’m 36 years old and very much your peer (went to a Bible college, had many of the same theological experiences that you are talking about here) and have come to believe that it is GREAT to read other theologians’ commentary, but not great to subscribe to one whole theological perspective. Don’t swallow the whole label as your own. Would love to hear if you come to more conclusions down the road.

If you are looking for covenants and authority, Christ's gospel has been restored and is found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We make covenants at baptism and in the Lord's house, the temple. We have a prophet and apostles who have authority from God.

I grew up Freewill Baptist and as a young adult switched to southern Baptist and married a pc son. I bought in to the rapture theory. But if I can offer some food for thought for anyone reading this. I’m still learning and studying Gods word almost daily so do with it as you may. First off there is a huge difference from reading plain scriptures and studying the Bible percept by percept with context and going back to the original language which is not hard at all the do with a Strongs concordance. Now I will say when I was a Southern Baptist I’m at fault I was spoon feed and I didn’t test anything to Gods word. I just trusted and believed they were the “specialists” and Godly men they would not lead me astray. I did read my Bible but I didn’t study it because I didn’t have a clue on how to. I asked several pastors and deacons and I honestly don’t think they had a clue either to be honest now in retrospect. But here’s my food for thought 1) Jacob is the 12 natural seeds or tribes, his blood lineage which Christ our Messiah came through. 2) Israel is the spiritual seed of God, His children/lineage. The reason I say this God tells Jacob you will no longer be called Jacob but Israel and 5 vs down God is calling him Jacob. Also God will use Jacob and Israel in the same verse. 3) all 12 tribes are not Jews. I have noticed people clumping them all together. The tribe of Judah are Jews or if you are a resident in Judea you are called a Jew. This is easily looked up in the Strongs. This is what Christ was speaking of in Rev 2:9 and 3:9 the only two churches that taught who was who. People claiming to be Jews but are not from the tribe of Judah and in return giving them a bad name. 4) the 10 northern tribes ( the Israelites, not Jews) God scattered, still to this day. They don’t know they are Israelites so Katie you can’t say you are not of Abrahams seed because you could be. 5) when we (if we are Gentiles) were grafted in to Israel because of our faith in Christ so all the promises of God include believers. 6) rapture= I know this is a hot topic as a past believer I get it the frustration but it’s absolutely not in Gods word. And I believe this is a HUGE salvation issue. Please hear me out. Gods word is clear that the false Christ will come and set up his throne before Christ returns and he is going to claim he is Christ. Daniel tells us that he comes in peacefully and prosperously. I see this as the huge deception the world as fallen for because they think (because man told them) that they will fly away and we don’t need to worry about the tribulation. People are going to worship him thinking he is Christ. When I say people I mean Christians who love Christ but choose to listen to man over testing it to Gods word. This is why the Bible says Christ will become the stumbling block. This is why Christ says pray you are without child when I return (spiritual adultery / Christ takes it down to our level so we can see how He feels about that). This is why mother will turn against daughter and so on because the mother is trying to get her child saved by Christ ( just the wrong one). This is why people will be praying for the rocks to fall on them because of straight embarrassment of being deceived. This is why Christ says pray you are not the first to be taken. I could go on and on. I just wanted to give you some food for thought. I think we are so blessed to have some true Bible teaching churches but Amos 8:11 tells us the famine in the last days is not for food but the true word of God. So I would sum it up with test everything to the word of God. Don’t just read the Bible but search out each word. If you have any questions about anything i have said I will be more then glad to try to point you to scriptures so you can seek out Gods truth. God bless.

How do you guys deal with Romans 5:10? I came from a reformed background and grew up with my parents assuming my sibling and I were saved. We clearly did not possess the fruits of the Spirit growing up and feared the consequences of our sin rather than that it was an offense against God that needed true heart repentance. For me it was confusing that I was told I was saved while not truly having a heart change. I also think we can rely on the sovereignty of God to keep those safe who he will save in time even tho they may not currently be saved.

Omg, I had all these questions too as I was growing in my faith and it eventually led me to the Catholic Church. I didn’t want to be Catholic but the more I learned about it and honestly gave it a chance and prayed, after 5 years Im finally entering the Catholic Church. Jesus prayed that would be ONE. Keep praying and keep seeking, the Lord will lead you.

I didn't realize this was a christian show until I looked it up, I've been pressured to be a conservative religious person, but I refuse, and what angered me about this show, is that it idolized the Battle Of Jericho, What about the people IN Jericho, how did THEY feel when their land was taken because god told Joshua that land is theirs? That whole episode's telling do to "do what god tells you to do" instead of making your own decisions. It's about "You shall listen to me because I'm god" Fact: All of this is exactly what Israel's doing to Palestinians, stealing their homes, committing genocide, etc all because "gold told us your land is ours" Battle of Jericho my ass, I'm not following god's will, I'm following my own beliefs.

I was just listening to tucker carlsons interview with a country singer and it was the first time I heard about the Bible that taught all these things. Interesting that it’s all coming to light recently. Whenever I read my Bible I definitely did not see it aligning with the post trib rapture, so I felt more led towards reformed theology and covenant teaching. But I still don’t understand much of it. 😅

I find dispensationalism to be truthful. It seems like there is a lot more manipulation in Gods word through a Reformed theology to benefit and "grow the church" and "grow the kingdom" but on the otherhand, where we live, its hard to find other christians to study with dispensationally which makes it feel a little more isolating and i feel like i am the one who has to compromise my spiritual stance when studying with others. And almost every other christian i talk with that is from a reformed stance has never even heard the word dispensations/dispensationalism which is to me is a bummer and especially for people my age (33) and younger makes me think they are so caught up in the trendy movement the reformed church has going on.

It is not as though God’s word has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. 7Nor because they are Abraham’s descendants are they all his children. On the contrary, “Through Isaac your offspring will be reckoned.”b 8So it is not the children of the flesh who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as offspring. 9For this is what the promise stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.” You guys are on an amazing journey! My husband and I began our journey less than two years ago and had so much unlearning to do from our own childhoods. But He has promised that all who seek Him WIlL find Him, if you seek Him with all of your heart. So excited for you!

Loved hearing your book discussion and historical review throughout this episode! I found myself thinking about the perspective of community salvation (i.e., all the members of the body of Christ forming the single body of Christ) in terms of a quote I credit to my husband: "Jesus isn't a polygamist." That is, salvation of individual believers must always be connected to the life of the whole Christian church on earth, whom He loves as His bride. None of us can be the church by himself/herself.

What was in regard to? Elisha has some interesting pronunciations. SOW- siety instead of suh-siety. He also says boLth instead of both.

Anyone use beast academy from AOPs? My husband studied applied math and has recommended it to several of our friends. We’ll be using level 1 this year. Want to hear any feedback

No baptism and no communion yet claiming to get your theology from a plain reading of scripture. Wow. What was the cult your Grandpa was in? 1:01:00 My pastor was always anti Scofield study Bible. I assume we were covenantal from everything you've said. The ligical end of dispensational theology is dumping anything you like. I am convinced most if not all theoligical error is just looking for loopholes on things we don't like. Don't luke dancing in the Bible, get rid of it. Don't like the idea that women must submit or can't teach, get rid of it. Don't like prohibitions on homosexuality, get rid of them. Speaking in tongues and the gifts are weird, get rid of them. Deliverance is creepy, get rid of it. Etc. 1 Corinthians 12 [10] and to another the working of miracles, and to another prophecy [foretelling the future, speaking a new message from God to the people], and to another discernment of spirits [the ability to distinguish sound, godly doctrine from the deceptive doctrine of man-made religions and cults], to another various kinds of [unknown] tongues, and to another interpretation of tongues.

It sounds like Elisha read a lot of emergent church theology in the earlier 2000s. The whole rebellious, chuch at a bar with a cigar vibe. 58:00 Scripture talks about worldliness, loving the wirld, double mindedness, carnality, lasciviousness, sensuality. These aren't modern inventions nor are they off base. If you attend a mega church, I would guess the majority are nominal Christian. I was at Craig Groeschel's Life Church for 7 years or so. I finally realized I was a nominal Christian.
