A few steam train videos I have recorded since 1985, from all over the world.
South Africa 2023.
An ex-SAR 25NC No. 3437 is seen hauling two freight trains on the branch line from Belmont to Douglass and on a part of the line Kimberley to Bloemfontein. A second part is dedicated to narrow gauge on the well known Sandstone Heritage Estate: an opportunity to watch a.o. NG/G16A No. 115.

A video report of a special tour on the Furka Summit Line (Switzerland). Two locomotives are shown in action: 0-8-0 T No. 704 built in Switzerland for the "Chemins de Fer de l'Indochine" (Vietnam) and 2-6-0T No. 9 originating from the Furka-Oberalp line. This is a HDR video, which may not display correctly on HDR incompatible devices. If so, you are advised to watch my other video of the same p...
Ex-SNCV Steam Locomotive No. 303
zhlédnutí 3,6KPřed 3 lety
A very short video of the recently restored locomotive 303, seen in Thuin, Belgium during this Summer 2020. This is a meter gauge 0-6-0 T locomotive built in 1888. This type of locomotives was designed to haul tramways and as such, used in populated areas. To offer better visibility they were fitted with a foot plate at either end. The valve gear was also hidden by steel plates, allegedly in or...
Belgian Steam 2007

I continue "deconfining" some of my old videos. This one shows two typical Belgian locomotives: 64.169, ex Prussian P8 imported from Rumania and 29.013, a post-war steam locomotive built by Montreal Locomotive Works on US design. As a bonus, some diesel electric locomotives, most of which belong to history nowadays. On Belgian line No. 128, Ciney-Yvoir, one of the nicest lines in the Ardennes r...
Belgian Railways Pacific Type 1
zhlédnutí 6KPřed 4 lety
A short video shot in 1989. The last opportunity to see SNCB 1.002 on a train, operating between Liège and Bomal (SNCB line No. 43). A commemoration fo the 150th anniversary of the arrival of the train in Liège. During the show, some piston rings broke in one inner cylinder, thus canceling the rest of the operation. Apologies for the poor quality of the image. This is an archive (shot with the ...
The Old Patagonian Express
zhlédnutí 41KPřed 4 lety
Probably the longest narrow-gauge railway in the world: 400 km (250 Mi) of track between Ingeniero Jacobacci and Esquel, in Argentine Patagonia. A unique gauge: 750 mm (±2 foot 6). All the rolling stock was purchased in 1922 and hardly modified ever since. 6 different steam locomotives built by Baldwin and Henschel are shown hauling coaches and wagons made in Belgium by Familleureux.

Steam in the mountains: Eritrea
zhlédnutí 1,1MPřed 5 lety
The line from Massawa to Asmara in Eritrea is certainly one of the nicest mountain railway in the world. Climbing from sea level to an altitude of 2349 meters (7706 feet) in only 120 km (75 miles), the line was built by the Italians from 1887 to 1911. It was later extended to Cheren (1922) and finally reached Bischia in 1932. It is built to the Italian "meter" gauge, i.e. 950 mm. The rolling st...

Service Steam in Bosnia and Serbia - 2017
zhlédnutí 325KPřed 6 lety
Steam-hauled service trains disappeared from Europe long ago. However, some unexpected spots remain where steam locomotives are used on a regular basis, shunting and -sometimes- venturing on the mainlines, as is the case in a number of collieries, in Bosnia and Serbia, as shown in the present video. Featuring ex-Yugoslavian Railways classes 33 (2-10-0, ex DRG), 62 (local copies of US 0-6-0T war...
Swiss Rack & Pinions: Furka Summit Line - NEW edited version.

New, edited and augmented version. Now includes shots from a drone and more. Certainly one of the nicest tourist railways in Europe, it connects Realp (Uri canton) to Oberwald (Wallis canton) over the Furka Pass. 4 different steam locomotives are shown. 3 of them are original from the line, one comes from the Viege-Zermatt railway: a very interesting locomotive. All are over 100 years old, even...

This short video is designed as a test for the new Panasonic Lumix GH 5 camera. In order to find out what this camera is capable of, it was used with most of its settings set to automatic. In particular, it was handheld and I made no attempt at improving the stability in post-production (FCPX). In view of the strong light, a ND filter was used.. The unprocessed sound track was obtained using th...

Rails are welded over a certain distance
Watching steam locomotives gives goosebumps
Que hermosa locomotora 🚂🚂🚂
Cool video of these Colombian Steam Locomotives (All built from my home country United States of America) in operation at this railroad over in Colombia.
Thanks for the video I remember them with fondness
DHR Toy Train, it is the integral part of our Gorkha culture of Darjeeling but alas not a single Gorkha passenger is seen traveling by this train....Is it due the expensive fares ?
No graphitti on the cars
Amazing to be able to see this..Steam freight trains with cabooses.. Excellent.
I love Zimbabwe beautiful Harare Salisbury gokwe gweru bukawayo hänge Vuc falls kariba dam tiger fish zuscosteel.... Unfortunately Mohave ruined looted Zimbabwe.
jammer die kamera werk is soo swak met die laast treintjies . mens kan nie uit maak wat dit is. hoefeel wiele daa is nie . maa ja dankie dis interesant .
On the narrow-gauge locomotives, the wheels are inside the frame and can hardly be seen. Leaks of steam and cold weather did not help in the visibility of the under frame of the locomotives... I can record videos but not make miracles.
Ja nee kyk dit is my lewe ek was a stoker gewees
my home city Attock.,..
One of the most exciting, energetic, and emotional sounds you can experience!
My dream of driving steam locomotives will never come to fruition, just like every dream of mine
Great video, love steam locomotives are awesome I got the opportunity to operate one and it was amazing czcams.com/video/XRQEZfU0EWU/video.html&t=
❤That's you awesome wonderful posting fantastic turistic locomotive garratt congratulations 🎉thank you beautiful.
The title of this video should maybe be " the little engine that could" ...lol
Sangat mempesona
Stunning footage!
Does it still drive in 2024?
Saw many on Australian railroads. Powerful and dependable.
That's you awesome wonderful workshop sharing posting operacion fantastic history locomotive vapore garratt congratulations pictures beautiful turistic.
Are there any non NC class 25 still around?
It still runs. ITS ALIVE! nice engine too.
Beautiful place!
Pramath
Beautiful sights and sounds....I can still hear the whine of the condensor unit fans when the 25's still had them when traveling through the Great Karoo condensing used steam back to water to make the extra distance without a water stop.
Baie mooi video. Baie dankie.
Excellent video and old memories recalled ❤
Wonderful video! Impressive to see those little trains tackle the very steep grades. I wonder how many times the train got stuck uphill in autumn season...
I am so much love coal locomotive rail . Thanks .
ダージリンヒマラヤ鉄道🚃と一緒に、エンフィールドに乗って旅してました。最高の旅でした♪😊
What's the Trochita?
Strictly speaking "trochita" means "narrow-gauge" in Argentine Spanish. This is also the name of the railway between Ingeniero Jacobacci and Esquel in Patagonia.
@@KochersbergTV that's so cool
Qué hermosa! Locomotora 🚂 ❤
Красавчики 🎉
Chinese steam locos were definitely built to last
The scene at the 2 min mark, train, vintage car, pair of hikers, absolute perfection.
Wonderful clip , thanks
Great video my father used to work for NRZ for many years, good to see some of the trains still running. Hopefully we can get back to the glory days soon enough.
Maravillosa locomotora! rompiendo el paisaje desolado❤
These were the days when it was a complete pleasure to ride mainline trains in South Africa. Not like it is today unfortunately.
Todo el 🌎 está en decadencia!!😢😢

What year this was filmed?
2021
@@KochersbergTV wierd, now they are not used by the railways anymore. so much change in just few years?
I see this video is from 5 yrs ago. Does this R.R. still in service? Ive heard this Country is under dictatorship w no electricity & even no internet. Such a beautiful place. Your video is just amazing. Very good. Sharp & great sound.
This railway is still in service, but in a limited way. There is electricity in the capital city Asmara and very slow Internet. If you are interested in visiting the place, you may wish to take a look at www.farrail.eu. They organise a steam tour in January 2025.
パキスタンの鉄道…のどかでいいなあ。イメージ変わった。言葉がインドよりわからないのが残念。
2 good 💯 end rool on u 💛 vaporish tonish rools on i ♥️🍒🍒♥️
They also made a bb diesel hydraulic rack locomotive for Indonesia
that is one heck of a tender And that garret is one leaky locomotive
I agree about the tender, the size of which is amply justified by the dry weather of the Karoo desert. Otherwise, this is not a Garratt locomotive, but "just" a Montain locomotive (4-8-2)
This is wonderful! Does anybody know how many of the German locomotives they still have/operate?
