This alternative history has always fascinated me. Under this scenario, the US never becomes a superpower. No nukes. No Cold War. No space race. Much, much slower technology changes. It's highly unlikely we would have laptop computers and smart phones. All of these innovations were driven by Governmental fear of the Soviets. There would be no UN, no Israel without a Holocaust. We wouldn't have Islamic terrorism because we wouldn't have a Middle East presence. If they had still been built, the Twin Towers would still be standing. Of course, humans, being the power hungry animals they are, wouldn't be able to leave well enough alone and there would still be trouble in the world. Somewhere. Fun to ponder.

Also, the United States would be very different. It was WWII that drove the United States' rapid industrialization and military growth. Without WWII, the US would likely have remained isolationist and weaker.

A good turning point would be Hitler's death in WWI. On 5 October 1916, Hitler had been wounded by shrapnel. What if, instead, he had been killed? That's a great starting point.

Without World War 2 and without Japanese invasion, I think it is impossible for Indonesia to get full independence. The best thing they got is status like Australia, the king/queen will be of the Dutch with Indonesian Prime Minister. Indonesia itself will be a federation with many kingdoms/sultanates were part of it. There maybe communist rebellion but as in 1927 it will be crushed. With Indonesia did not get total independence so were many countries in Asia and Africa. The old elites will be still in power. Without world war 2, Japanese Empire will be stronger and stronger. The world will have 5 superpower, US, British Empire, Soviet Union, Japanese Empire and somehow Germany will find a way to become super power too. The French Empire will still crumble. Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos will be independence but become client states of Japanese Empire. Morocco and Tunisia will be dominion of France, Algeria will be a province of France with natives became French citizen. There will be one or two Algerian French Prime Minister. Syria will be full independent, Lebanon as Tunisia will be French Dominion. French Africa will be annexed by British Empire, each will be British dominions. Libya and Albania will be province of Italy with Natives got Italian citizenship. Ethiopia will be full independence. In short, the world will be much peaceful.

As for the alternate or prime time lines, some things would be better, some worse. Without WW-II, the impetus to make the atomic bomb wouldn't have existed, at least not in the way it did in our timeline. There would still be enough enough basic knowledge and curiosity about atomic energy that likely some country would have gotten there, but who and under what circumstances is the open question. Would we then have nuclear power and radiation therapies instead of bombs? Who knows. We may have also had just normal demographic development, absent a baby boom after the war. In the end, however, in all time lines the results are the same, people take birth ultimately facing death, old age and disease we should live so long. Hopefully you live the best life you can and maybe try and leave the world a little better than when you arrived.

The western world would ne prosperous organized and healthy.and free of the major problem plaguing us today.

If britain sees it as crucial enough, and its before 1869, they likely would colonise it before japan could, though they may colonise it after 1869 without any regard for the japanese. Realistically they'd mainly just need ports, right? So they may just make agreements with japan for a couple port towns. I'm skeptical that britain would colonise japan, though they likely would find ways to keep the japanese somewhat tied to them, to prevent troubles in trade routes. That's my thoughts at least. I'm not much a historian.

while i like this, i find it unlikely that england becomes a satellite kingdom. by the time of edward iii, a national identity was already forged with a more english flavor to it through edward i and iii. while i don’t think it changes the early outcomes, i think it equalizes the two realms a bit more which opens up a pathway to eventual english independence especially if the court centers in Paris. i’d say the best way england stays as a satellite realm is if the plantagenet empire solidifies under Henry I in the late 12th century and defeats the House of Capet edit: there is also a chance a more northern european ethnic identity in the anglo-saxon group emphasizes with the Reformation more due to language. English is not a Romance language the way French is and I think that would make England more Protestant than a Plantagenet Empire

While I can see the fun in alternative history, the human animal follow strict mechanical rules that lead to equations of outcome. Wars and revolutions are automatic processes that can only be altered by prosperity, education and peace. Since humanity tries to avoid prosperity, education and peace WW3 is right around the corner. Canada would have been smart to enter negotiations immediately when they saw the Empire had turned its back on them. If I was Canada I would actually flip my allegiance versus simply surrendering. It is possible that Canada could have better terms other than absorption into the American Union. If Canada initiated an invasion of the US first, the American wrath would have been severe.

You forgot to mention nuclear weapons. Without them, there would be no Cold War, instead what you'd get would be a hot war. If the Soviets began trying to expand their revolution without nuclear weapons, then they would end up at war with the western powers, this would be a delayed World War II started by the Soviets, maybe in the 1950s or 1960s, it is in this World War that atomic weapons would be developed.
