I figured out what my issue was. When using io saver to export frame sequences. If I compounded the clip then opened it in fusion I could export at timeline proxy resolution but if I opened the original clip on fusion it would always use the original resolution

Blackmagic Pocket 4K. But recording through an ATEM Mini ISO in HD quality and upscaled in resolve. Screen recording separately in OBS in 4k. But my workflow is still evolving. I feel the camera itself isn't the most important piece in the overall equation...

@@VFXstudy i was confused on seminar or fusion intermediary course.. i was not sure of the updates so i thought of waiting for a new course with all updates in fusion .

Fusion comps are part of the project and automatically live within the project database. Could it be that the comp was on a different clip or different timeline than what you looked at or that you accidentally reset the comp (or due to bug...)? If you have project backups enabled, I would try to go back to an earlier version of the project and see if the comp is available there. If you have regular backups set up then hopefully you have one that was saved while you were working on it and before it got deleted or corrupted.

@@VFXstudy actually I don't have project backups open (and it's probably a bug since the project only contains this clip and couldn't be overlooked) so there isn't a way to visualise the .dvcc files (cache files)

@supstite reg. The cache files, did you try throwing them back in Reaolve as media? Not sure if that works. I never tried it but since they are just frames encoded a standard codec defined in the project settings, maybe it works - but never tried ..

Well, the Proxy setting is still available there in v19. Crashes are always possible, especially in a Beta release. You can report them on the forum / via support and hopefully they fix it till the stable release of v19.

Either via a character level styling modifier or via manual positioning. For the latter, enable "Allow Manual Positioning" in the options on top of the viewer or via right click from the Edit page with Fusion overlay enabled.

I found out the solution in the Transform tab, however sometimes it just won't work until I play around with the size parameters, crazy

Haven't had any issues during recent tests, but keep in mind that it's still public beta and not stable release yet...

Glad I could help! Yeah, it takes some time getting used to it. But once you get a hang of it it's ok. It's one of these tools that works a bit differently in every software...

You can definitely also change the duration of Fusion Composition effects the same way. I just tested it and it works. You get extra frames without changing the keyframes. If you get errors or media-offline or so, also check if any of the loader/media/generator nodes have incorrect global in/out values. You can check that best in the Keyframe editor. Check the console if you get error messages.

Yes, via the edit page, pretty much the same way as for compositions on media, but check any loader/saver/generator nodes if it doesn't work. Sometimes the Global In/Out don't get adjusted automatically. You can also check it in the Keyframe editor.

Not sure I understand. Are you talking about USD? That can only stay within USD and ultimately needs to got to the usd render node. But you can get regular 3D geometry into the USD system through the umerge. However, not everything is supported. I think projectors won't work and Fusion particles won't work. Regular meshes should be fine, though you might need to replace materials.

Not sure what you mean by "picky". Fusion always works in a resolution independent way with normalized coordinates, if that's what you mean. It supports very high resolution. I think 32kx32k is the official limit if I'm not mistaken though I haven't reached that yet. Neither in Resolve nor in Fusion Studio.

Yeah, I whish they would. The Fusion loader node can do it, even though some of the default naming conventions aren't ideal but better then "MediaIn1"...

Adding a box is simple, but I've shown some more advanced developer options for people who want to go further and build custom templates etc.

Markers in presentations should be synced with Resolve and you can export markers as a csv file from the edit index.

I might do another tutorial sometime soon. But what was not working? One thing I noticed recently is that if you change to output space to something like Gamma 2.4 or so (not the scene default) then you should go into the viewer LUT and enable "Forward OOTF". I already informed BMD that this isn't done automatically and hope that they can fix it. Maybe there are other small hick-ups that others find in their setup, but generally speaking it seems to work...

Thanks for your immediate reply. My files are from Blender which I set to a " linear color space" These files are very dark inside Fusion. I applied a LUT to the monitors to match the ones in the edit page, and one Color Space transform after the media output to correct the external monitor. When I set the Resolve 19 Color management to Auto, or manual setting the images are still dark once I remove the LUTs and color space transform.

Agreed. That's why I made this video specifically with students, educators, and hobbyists in mind. Agreed, if it's your job, then typically you don't need to think about it for long.

Oh, yeah, I think I've heard about that specific issue before. Maybe try not using the relink button at all but instead manually add the paths to the path map and see if that works?

Indeed. Though personally, I will still only rename little, since a lot is clear to me by context and by default naming. But yes, the bigger and longer the project, the more important it gets.
