couple questions do we have to include every single photo ? what if i, for example, mask out a tree from one picture and put it on top of another picture ?
You can pick and choose which of the photos to use and decide for yourself. You can use one photo or 5 or all or composite 3 together. So yes, feel free to put the tree in another one or have the bird carry a sheep or whatever you think you can pull off 😉 In the different examples in the trailer, I used 1-2 photos for each example.
Sounds interesting 😃 So the final video should only consist of the provided footage? Or is it also allowed to add some additional things like short clips, sfx, music,.. ?
On the registration website it says the following: "Only use standard tools in DaVinci Resolve or DaVinci Resolve Studio and only use the photographs provided."
Good idea, but since I mentioned it that way in the videos, let's stick to the standard tools for this round. The reason was also to make it simple to review some comps at the end without having to install stuff or worrying about compatibility.
the prizes seem a bit lack lustre, if there was a signed portrait of the professional photragraphers feet or big toe as a prize, i would enter and obviously win.
Haha, ok maybe we can add that just for you 😋 Either way, I think the biggest win is the learning opportunity and fun creating it! If this works out I'll think of something bigger for the Future.

Sound is optional, but that won't be part of the contest. So for picture, use the photographs only and show what you can build from them alone!

Sorry, no. But there are some Photos you could use as textures (or part thereof). Or you can create them with fastnoise etc.
