Everyone calls the ringmaster him, but when I look I see a woman. It's a woman dressing as a man (and clearly acting as one, exploiting girls for the pleasure of a male audience), but her features are feminine and not drawn like the men in the video. The ringmaster wouldn't be the only woman taking advantage of the doll girls, the dancers with masks like predatory bugs definitely participate.

I'm glad you also released The Greatest Living Show, because it shows the other side of that wish. We may wish to be seen and have a dance partner, but the devil will not care for that dream. One more or less dead dancer doesn't matter to him

Its honestly a really good detail that the shadow men from the start appear but seeing other girls just like the mc at 3:32 really shows how she isnt the the last.

A tale of innocence lost. It's a beautiful song and the animation fits it perfectly. Heavy stuff below... It reminds me of girls who fall prey to "lover-boy gro0ming," get seduced by a charming man, then sold into sex-slavery. They get wowed by the fancy life they think they'll have, then it turns out they're made to "perform" for whoever paid for it, doing whatever they expect, and it tears them apart. Someone else pointed out that she could clearly see the other dolls becoming cracked as a result, and still went with him. Often young, innocent, impressionable girls get sucked in, despite all the red flags around them. All she did was follow the crowd and follow her heart, only to have it ripped apart, still forced to dancew.

This is great! I often hear Kirby BGM thinking they're usually emotional. Even though Queen Sectonia is seen as an antagonist, I felt a sense of sorrow at the last battle, and this cover captured that same feeling

i adore this, but am bemused by everyone interpreting it and applying it to real life issues. it reminds me of when folks did that with spirited away. personally i think it's its own story, not an allegory.

I think the Greatest Living Show is an allegory for human trafficking and fake/abusive relationships showcasing the dangers that come with it. The Greatest Living Show on the surface acts as a surreal show but in reality is a circus of horrors that is hungry for victims, their suffering being amusement to the ringmaster's sadism as they will never tell the tale. The girl's romantic relationship with the Ringmaster is simply an illusion existing through seduction and deception by making her feel beautiful and loved, not realizing she fell into his web. Her fate is brutal, she becomes a puppet stripped of agency and femininity, the strings tear her apart as the puppeteer dances with her beheaded body. Like many before her only the demon will have his happily ever after and she won't be the last to sustain his living show.

am i tripping or is this song also about being stuck in a relationship with a man that treats you as nothing more than a girlfriend or a wife, rather than a person.. she talks about him saying only yes or no, he wont dance with her because of his own insecurities, she has to do all the work in the relationship to get him to talk to her at all, and its a cycle of toxicity because she feels so "enthralled" every time he acknowledges her despite how he treats her.. this broke my heart
