Hi! I'm Krystal and I've created a charming little space to share with you my love of cooking, crafting, sewing and more. My goal is to inspire you to take what I share and make an even bigger and better version.
I hope to bring a smile to your day and an idea to your brain. Some of the things I share will be "all done no fun" - ideas which seem great but turn out to be no good at all. I can't promise that all my ideas will be winners, but if I can keep you from making the same mistakes, that's okay, too!
If there's something you'd like me to cover, please be sure to reach out either in the comments section or at any of my social media platforms.

I splurged and purchased a bag from a fellow bag maker - Niki Kinder. Divine!
I regret not doing this sooner! There’s something special about buying a bag from someone you admire. I’m so glad I was able to grab this from Niki!

Fantastic pattern! I love it so much! You can also clip it inside a larger bag onto a well-place D-ring so you never lose track of your wallet! I've just made my first, but several more are in my future!
Oh. This is the most amazing thing I’ve seen on CZcams today this far. Can you show a video of you spray painting and then applying it to the bag with rivets maybe.
Thank you for the video. I like that you don’t edit mistakes or bloopers out. That’s how a lot of us learn & we make mistakes so you showing us yours help us not worry so much about ours.
Using the walking foot or a Teflon foot will stop you from having to use machine oil. Thank you for the video. People love to trash talk singer online but I have several singers & one is old & still running strong. They all are but one of them is an older model heavy duty like yours & it’s been around for yrs plus yrs longer cause my uncle didn’t buy it new. They’re wonderful machines.
That is so kind of you! I’m glad it was helpful and relatable!
Thank you so much! I thought about purchasing hump jumper, OMG I didn’t know about that little black button! Awesome! 👍
You’re so very welcome!
Thank you I have been looking for a tutorial like this forever. Unfortunately I am a very visual person and I’m wondering if you have any other videos like this so I can practice more? Ty!
Thank you! I have a series of beginner Cricut videos that were part of my live series. What kind of help are you needing?
@@CharmingCheek every thing and anything would help!!
Hello! Any updates on this? Still enjoying or using this method?
Hi! There’s absolutely zero paint peeling or flaking using this method. Highly recommend.
@@CharmingCheek awesome! What a sweet hack!!! 🤩
That was very helpful. I was lost
I’m wondering if you spray painted it yet to look more “girlie”. 🤔
Absolutely! I know of several people who have done it. Just use a really good degreaser first since there can be a protective layer on it. The ram and lever come out easily and it will be a quick process.
Well you just solved months & months of questions I’ve had about other machines. Most were too expensive by the time I would have to buy die after die, specialized parts & rivets, etc! Or others that wouldn’t do everything I needed it to do. I’ve researched & watched videos til I’m exhausted from it. Then your video came up! WHAT A BLESSING! It’s 4:30 a m & I’m still watching & excited I found you & your video! You’ve absolutely solved my problem & I’m so happy I haven’t ordered anything yet. Thank you, dear Lord! Thank you so much for sharing your techniques & your talents. Have a very blessed day!!
You are so very kind! Thank you for letting me know this was helpful for you! If your local store is out of stock, I’m told the half ton from Amazon works well, too. Or you might find them second hand.
@@CharmingCheek THANK YOU again!!! 😀
Your video makes me feel like you are sitting next to me walking me through the entire process! I’m new to working on the Cricut SVG format and I have struggled with understanding how to upload my patterns. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us!
Oh my goodness! That is such a lovely compliment and is exactly my goal! Thank you for visiting back with me!
Thank you. Great video! ❤
I’m so happy you liked it!
I’m finally doing it! It does have a learning curve so your first few may not be perfect. And applying the resin is another learning curve to have the tags level and not touching anything when you apply the resin. I finally used a styrofoam piece that the tags were not touching that foam when I applied…stick prongs into styrofoam. I only messed up two and feel really good that the rest turned out well,
That’s wonderful!!! Great job finding a way to make the process easier!
Do you have a social media that I can send you a picture on of something I want to try?
Hi! I do - you can join me in the Charming Cheek Chatroom on Facebook. I’m an Instagram dummy . . .
Excellent demonstration!
Thanks so much!
This is adorable. I noticed a discrepancy on the written instructions. Piece has two different measurements listed. The pattern piece AND page 4 are consistent, but pdf page 1 (really page 2) has it wider and longer. I’m making this now…keeping my fingers crossed.
Thank you for the catch! The pattern piece is accurate - I will get the inconsistency corrected! I appreciate you. Can’t wait to see what you think of the finished wallet.
Thank you for this! I bought an arbor press a few weeks ago and have been experimenting with different things. Rivets are no problem, but I can’t get the hole cutters or grommets to work. I am applying all the pressure I can and it just isn’t working. Your video looks like you’re just pressing a little. I wonder if I’m doing something wrong?
Hi! It sounds like something isn’t quite right. Are you able to join the Facebook group (Charming Cheek Chatroom) so you can share a photo and I can troubleshoot?
Great video! Thank you so much. I hadn't even thought of this.
My pleasure to share! Thanks for watching and for your nice comment!

Where did you get the edge paint roller? That is a great idea
Hi! I got it on Amazon! It’s pretty spiffy. A medicine dropper (also from Amazon) is helpful for adding paint to the well - and taking it out.
I’m shocked!! I always wondered what the little black button was for🎈!! Thanks!!
Surprise!
New at this. What size would you call this a little rivet please? I am cutting out a quilt for the local Junior high basketball weekend tournament. Your instructions are just great! I love how you explain everything. Gives us newbies hope. Thank you from Canada and Happy Mew Year.
Thank you so much for your kind compliments! The little rivets are 6mm. The snaps are 12mm spring snaps or fashion snaps.
I have those hollow hole punches. They work for the most part, but I make leather crafts, so they eventually separate, the weld breaks, and then when you're cutting a circle, it cuts 99% but leaves a gap, and then you have to cut with a knife. Better to spend the money on higher quality hole punches when you can afford them. That's my problem, I got most of my initial tools on Amazon. FYI, you need to get a metal plate to put under your plastic piece under the arbor press. That will stop the plastic from bowing, and make it easier to cut holes. I'm sure you've figured all this out, now going on two years. And I also use the rectangular magnets on the arbor press to hold the plastic cutting board down so it doesn't move much.
Beautiful bag! Great investment. ❤
Hi Krystal. Thanks for confirming that I made a great investment purchasing my Singer Heavy Duty 2252 four years ago. I don't even use my other machines anymore because I sew mostly thicker fabrics. Great tutorial as a refresher! ❤
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm just getting seriously interested in adding rivets to my bags but felt intimidated by the process & the cost. After watching your tutorial I feel very confident that this is a great option for me. I subcribed to your channel and hit the like button & can't wait to view your other tutorials. 😊 ❤
That is so kind of you! I hope this will help make the process of your bag making journey much more enjoyable!
Great video. Lots of info easily explained. Can’t wait to say goodbye to that dang hammer! Would this work with metal stamping?

Tudah Rbah (thank you very much, in Hebrew). // SHLM & HaB (peace & love). The Name of the Creator is Hayah asher Hayah, as what He told Moshah (Exodus 3:14), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. There is a curse to the G-o-d name (Isaiah 65:11-12), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. All followers of the Messiah are to do the 7 appointed times (Leviticus 23), but no more animal sacrifices, following the Crucifixion of the Messiah. Great tips! I learned about some PowerPoint functionality. Plus, I didn't know I could save as an SVG from PowerPoint. Thanks for creating this video.

I just finished my trial one and it came out great! I used scrap leather that I get “cheap” from an upholsterer. It’s so cute I’m going to go ahead an make a matching Linds phone strap. Thanks for this awesome pattern. 😍
That’s fantastic!! I hope you’ll share it with us on social media so we can give it alllll the oohs and ahhhs!
I think that’s great! Just a little heads up maybe putting something directly in the middle so when the press comes down your your white plate doesn’t flex three stacks of pallet. Wood works very well. You could even make a gig for the outside in the middle!! For leather clickerdye
Hi! Thanks so much for that hint. I agree that if you're doing extra heavy pressing, a sold surface under that plate is a must.

@@CharmingCheek thank you so much for the info 🖤
@@ispops87 my pleasure!
Congrats, it's a cute little wallet. The video was very needed, thank you. I work much better with visual direction (compared to written, even with photos). Quick question: would you consider doing an add-on video showing how to make the cell phone modification and the belt modification? I'm not sure I follow the written directions where it says "sew the bottom of the cash pocket to the body" which end is the bottom? It's sewn down normally at the end/topstitch. So that part is confusing me. I think I can figure out the belt modification but I'm not sure without seeing a photo. With video/photo of the original method it helps to have a photo/video of the modifications. Thanks for considering.
Thank you for your feedback! I can do a video but it won’t be until next weekend at the earliest. If you’re in the Facebook group I can share photos with you sooner. Great suggestion!
I’ve had bad burns from UV resin when I wasn’t wearing gloves and got some on my hands in the past. There is no way I ever use it now without wearing gloves! I’ve learnt my lesson! I use waterslide decals on to thin baked polymer clay (about 1mm thick cut into the label size I require) (less expensive than buying the metal tags IMO!) Once the printed decals are placed on to the water moistened baked polymer clay, I bake the decals on to the clay (it takes about 10 minutes at 130 degrees Centigrade (use the temperature recommended for your brand of Polymer clay)) Don’t touch the decal when it comes out of the oven as it will be slightly sticky. Once less sticky, I apply the UV gel and place in the UV lamp for 6 mins (I add more than one layer of UV Gel if required) and then I stick the finished polymer clay labels to my bags with E6000 glue (this glue doesn’t react over time with the polymer clay (you could also use super glue, which is also safe to use with polymer clay. If the labels are bowed after applying UV gel, just before gluing I will apply a heat gun to the back of the label to slightly warm the polymer clay (this flattens it out). I use white polymer clay as I currently only have transparent decals, I’ve yet to try the white decals on coloured polymer clay. This method can also be used with your own artwork printed on to the decals and applied to the baked polymer clay. Thanks for the great video! Greetings from England.

Could you use 1/8 in DST to hold all the pieces in place?
You sure can but you would want to keep it out of the stitching. I like the masking tape because it keeps the edges from getting shifted by the feed dogs. But as you can see, I’m kind of clumsy and need the extra help.
Congratulations on your first pattern.
Thank you!
