I stick with APMEX, JM and SD only. Yeah you pay a little more but the guarantee is worth the extra when it comes to our investments.

the only 100% real way to determine real from fake is with a precious metal tester. They cost approximately $1200. They can test almost every metal

This is why I stress so much on the importance of removing at least one of your genuine bars and handling it in your actual hand. Getting the feel of gold, feeling the weight, the density, the shape, size, color and texture. Someone who is familiar with gold will immediately realize there is something off there cause the fake bars are larger than the real, also thicker. Gold is very dense, and almost no metal can match its density, thus the fake bars will either be off on the weight if they have the right dimensions or will be off on the dimensions, thickness, width, length, if they want to match the weight. The color of the fake bars is also dull, gold has a unique luster to it. Dont know why people are so upsest with keeping the bars in the plastic. Gold is gold, gold will not go down in value cause its not in the plastic. Infact go and try selling one of those bars to a coin store. You will see the very first thing they are going to do is remove that gold, and test the actual bar. Some will go as far as drilling right into it. So if they don't trust the plastic why should you. Its total nonsense that you need to keep the gold sealed to maintain the value. The value is in the metal, not the plastic case. By now I can be blind folded and pick up two bars,xand let uou know right away which one is gold and one thats not.

Never buy silver on E-Bay! If you are buying silver make sure it is GRADED for your protection

E BAY is "Buyer Beware" and always has been and not just with silver. From what I have seen, there are so many legitimate silver dealers on the internet, some with very good prices so WHY take a chance on saving a few pennies on a bar of silver if the chance of buying from a crook is very high?

Don't buy Gold and Silver from Ebay or Craigslist or anything of the type. Sometimes China is where it comes from. Fake! Buy from Apmex, JD Bullion , SD Bullian.

You should give the guys name out anyways if it's fake and that's where you bought it from it's the truth but those look too big way too big to be 2.5 grams didn't look like 10 oz bars find the surface area alone I don't know how thick it is but it would be literally paper thin if it was supposed to weigh 2.5 grams

You have to pick up the bar and put tip of your finger and tap it at the edge of the bar. You can’t tell like that, copper also does the same thing when you use an earth magnet.
