Tim Buckley - Geordie (1964) [AI]
zhlédnutí 489Před 10 měsíci
An AI representation of Tim covering Joan Baez's version of 'Geordie', inspired by accounts of one particular performance at Loara High School in 1964, outlined in David Browne's excellent book 'Dream Brother': "The students gathered in the gym to hear Denny Brooks and Bob and the Leveemen - “professional singers,” noted the yearbook - along with a few student performers invited to complete the...

Tim Buckley - Rare Live Recordings (1975) Based on a couple of old sources online and the similar audio quality, I believe these tracks may be part of the Detroit set in June 1975, following 'Who Could Deny You' on the original bootleg. For whatever reason though, many sources do not have these songs listed and they were also not present on the 'Return Of The Starsailor' bootleg. Either way, th...

An attempt to isolate Tim's vocals from this performance at The Troubadour, inspired by Lee Underwood's account in 'Blue Melody' of the famous Carnegie Hall performance in the same year: "To this day I have not heard another performance that matched the intimacy, melodic range, and musical beauty of that song and the way he sang it. 'Anonymous Proposition' had appeared on Lorca, but at Carnegie...

Interesting that he knew his outgoings that closely. In that respect he is similar to how many musician currently have to budget and monitor to make sure theyre doing all they can to run a tight ship. Obviously, as we know, he didnt sell records in big numbers, again, like modern musicians dont, but for different reasons (free streaming etc) He does sound like hes been 'on it' here, probably booze, as he slurs a little a couple of times. Hes quite cynical about the music industry too. With his obvious intellect, I wonder if he grew disillusioned, and his sharp brain knew all too well what was going on. Tragic end not long after this. Such an avoidable, senseless fateful night all those years ago. I see Larry has a poetry night this week. Glad hes still enjoying expressing himself.

This is the Tim Buckley song I really like so much, especially (the first song.) The folky Tim before his music went in another direction and changed into some very strange vocals and arrangements. I like the second song too but not as much as the first song.

So great to hear the very folk genre songs of Tim Buckley. How different his later music became with jazz and extremely different genre of music, almost screaming and strange arrangements, jazzy, psych rock. I know there are many, many fans of his jazzy psysc, styles but I never got into his heavy progressive singing and arrangements. I just enjoy his early very folk singing.

Just absolutely beautiful WOW total folk, never heard this before. Is there any bootleg of this recording anywhere, on LP or cassette with his other rare very folk style singing, "Geordie" and other folk stuff? I love his extreme folk genre that he first waa singing in the very early years.

I can't believe I am hearing the total folk side of Tim Buckley. I love it, love it! Pure folk as you can get. It is hard to imagine how Tim's music changed so dramatically from folk like this to extreme jazzy and almost screaming voice later in his music. Almost a funk or just way out there singing or music style I couldn't get into. I really liked his "Hello Goodbye" album but Tim had such progressive styles and arrangements that was nothing like his early folk voice. Hard to believe it is the same person.
