QUICK FULL BODY HYBRID ATHLETE WORKOUT - EPISODE 5
Finding the athlete in me: Episode 5
Join me in this series as I go on a journey to find the athlete in me again. A quick back story, I became a competitive runner at 10 years old, running in cross-country races and this progressed into sprinting where I was a sprinter and hurdler for 12 years.
Since quitting track and field and spending most of my 20s figuring out what I want to do with my life and work taking over, I have lost a lot of my athletic ability. I have used the gym to stay in shape and get strong through bodybuilding and powerlifting-style workouts.
In 2023, I competed in my first Hyrox and have since competed in three Hyrox races. As I transition into longer-distance running, I am learning new skills and new disciplines.
I now have my flare back for sports and competition and want to bring you on the journey to find the athlete in me again. I will be training in hybrid style, running, lifting, and training for more Hyroxs next season.
This episode I join my brother for a quick full body workout. We both train in the hybrid style so working out together is always a fun time!

Lets talk cardio … Cardio used to leave me feeling sooooo bored Dreading when it was in a workout, reluctant to increase it because i couldnt fathom another 10 minutes on the stair master And as someone who ran from the ages of 10-25, switching to an incline walk or a stair master just didnt hit it for me Dont get this twisted, cardio whether you are building muscle, losing weight or training for an event should be part of our lifestyle for our health And in certain sports or events you’ll need to do certain cardio for a certain result e.g body building LISS is preffered due to it being less fatiguing and if you want to get better at running then you need to run But for me exercise has always been something i loved, and to find myself unmotivated and not enjoying it just wasnt something i was going to settle for And now as ive switched my focus to Hyrox performance I love training so much again Dont get me wrong i still have to psych myself up for a run or a tough session, but that feeling after is unmatched #hybridathlete #hybridtraining

Do more of what lights your soul on fire 🔥✨ I spent the majority of my life competing as a sprinter/runner, in an environment so familiar to me, surrounded by a community of people whom today are still my closest friends But after I finished sprinting I was left with a pretty big hole, no longer spending evenings on the track or S&C in the gym, no more races or sessions you only got through because of your track sisters So I started training to be shredded and to build muscle. I wanted a physique I was super confident in But it turns out training for aesthetics didn’t fill that hole that sprinting left I missed more than anything the goals of Sport, the competition and the community Until last year when I entered my first Hyrox Since then I’ve been running again, I’ve learnt new skills and pushed myself like never before I’ve made new friends and not only can I feel it but I can see that the fire is back 🔥 If you feel like how I felt a year and a half ago, where you feel in a rut with training and unmotivated, like something is missing Then I ask you to have the courage to try something new, to step outside of your comfort zone and relight that fire in you 🔥🏃🏼♀️💨 And this isn’t me bashing training for aesthetics, it really is about finding your people and what brings you joy whether that’s in competition, performance, or aesthetics etc 🩵✨ #hyroxuk #hybridathlete
