The number of people in attendance is only one consideration when selecting a speaker. It depends on the TYPE OF EVENT you’re doing. It depends on HOW DENSELY PACKED the people are going to be. It depends on your SOUND OBJECTIVE (how you want to fill the space). It depends on HOW LARGE the room/dance floor is. It depends on HOW LOUD you need to be at the farthest point in the room. It depends on the UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS of the venue/room. It depends on your CLIENT’S EXPECTATIONS (think student prom vs corporate picnic; do they want or need to to be crushed by sound?) It depends on INDOOR/OUTDOOR considerations (sound moves differently with and without walls). It depends on your knowledge of PROPER GAIN STRUCTURE and knowledge of BUILT IN FEATURES of your speakers. It depends on what your speakers are realistically DESIGNED FOR/CAPABLE OF. Maybe some other things I’m forgetting too.

Is this just “background music” like a cocktail hour? Or is this a “performance”? How large of a space? What type of environment?

You’ll need to do a number check on both units to determine that. I’m not familiar with the power requirements of a BLX system.

I just got it so I don’t have much feedback on it yet. It’s spec’d out to handle live STEMS so it’s been solid on that front. I’ve used ASUS for many many years. This is my first MSI laptop. Both brands have been highly recommended.

Thanks for checking this out. 🙂 The EVERSE 8 packs a lot of punch in a little package. It’s definitely my favorite ceremony speaker out right now and I’ve heard basically all of them. Ha! I mean when you try to annunciate names with excitement and clarity, the voice does tend to change. I definitely don’t try to be a radio DJ and do the “announcer thing”. This is my normal voice just with extra effort to speaker clearly and bring up the energy a bit.

The speaker does get updated from time to time. It’s not only the app.

@@DJRachelLynch So I called the EV support and they told me, that there are no updates when not used with the app. There was one update, that had to be done, when using the app, other updates are always optional and can be done later.

@@privat5316 Correct. Sorry if I misunderstmisunderstood your questions. The speaker can not and will not update on it's own without the QuickSmart app. The speaker isn't connconnected to the internet like that. I've only had 2 updates since owning the speaker. It is not something you should be concerned about. I'm glad they were able to answer you.

If there is any ground saturation or random flooding it gives extra piece of mind and they are easy to keep clean. Nobody works harder than an out door wedding DJ. 😂

That said, outdoor events are significantly more complex and require more work due to all the factors mentioned, so my prices reflect that as well.

It’s right in line with other premium brands like Humpter, Bunn Booth, Hoer, Toadmaric, etc.

Appreciate you watching! ☺️ Anything outdoors is so much more work and so much harder on our gear. I definitely charge more for outdoor events. I usually just use my up lights or I’ll add a WASH FX to give more punch. Lots of bang for your buck with those. I highly recommend them.
