Rachel Hands down my favaorite blogger. Your attention to details is amazing. I so appreciate your transparency of how you do what you do. You are appreciated. I'll end with this thank you so much Rachel for being You.
❤️👊🏻
A professional rock star putting on a rock star performance for a room full of rock stars celebrating a rock star couple!
😂❤️🤘🏻
vendor appreciation... that's what up. definitely came across some angry vendors during gigs as well... good perspective!! and yes ma'am the photobooth is definitely a good perc too!!!
Great idea to set up by the dancefloor, the stone walls on the stage were made for uplighting and having the bride and groom up there worked brilliantly.
Couldn't agree more! They should be the focal point! DJs belong near dancefloors! :)
What an amazing crowd! SO FUN! thanks so much for your videos! im learning a lot!
Thanks for watching!
I was Looking forward to this giglog because of the Facebook posts… shame on me just had time to watch today..
Here the notes/questions I wrote down:
1- Female Dj Struggles funnnnnyy. You need to find a way to make a video illustrating the changes after unloading and Setting up
2- do you have a video on your “light show”
3- what you do with your bags if venue doesn’t have a storage room
4- what’s your go to song for table dash
As always… you are a rock star
1- Female Dj Struggles funnnnnyy. You need to find a way to make a video illustrating the changes after unloading and Setting up.
A: HA. It usually involves a ton of hairspray, a brush, and mini curling iron. LOL I have a beauty bag with me for touchups after I've destroyed my hair and make up from setup.
2- do you have a video on your “light show”
A: My "light show" is pretty much in every gig log. The simple answer is @apelabsUSA. Apelabs up lights have a very sophisticated "MusikMode" that gives me a DMX like look with zero to no effort. All of my fixtures (including my moving heads when I use them) are controlled by a RF remote. I don't know anything about DMX.
3- what you do with your bags if venue doesn’t have a storage room.
A: My bags go under tables, in closest, or any where I can stuff them in the venue. If worst comes to worse, I put them back in the truck. But the key is, I KNOW THIS BEFORE the event, that is why I always do a site visit. I can plan accordingly.
4- what’s your go to song for table dash
A: It changes every time. I usually let the client pick but if they don't I choose things that are VERY upbeat and make a custom edit to ensure its long enough for the activity, based on the number of tables they have so they always "finish" in time.
Appreciate your time to check this out!
Mama said there'd be days like this. Way to keep your cool.
We have to. People mimic the energy we send out. See and example and other will mostly likely follow. If we have a plan b most situations are “figureoutable” 😂
Love ur videos like how you add the music titles since I mostly play Latino
Rachel! You're just straight up Dope!!! you rock Gurl!!
🫡❤️ Thank you!
You killed it as you always do!!!!! Great job girl!!!!!
👊🏻❤️
Journey is the best encore. I'll die on that hill. Nice work, as always, navigating the nightmares!
💯❤️
It’s what we do!
Appreciate you stopping by to check this out.
@@DJRachelLynch Every time! Hope your '24 is stacked! I'll cross my fingers for less rain because I think you've had enough. hahaha
You addressed my question at 4:00
You took so many notes and put stickers on the video! It's a lot of work! Respect for other vendors is very important!🎉🎉🎉
Yes. Respecting and helping others goes a long way. 💯
That's part of being a pro, keeping your cool when things don't go according to plan! Well done 🎉
Great stuff as always Rachel
I appreciate your time! Thanks so much! It was a great party!
i have always admire how prepared you are for any situation Rachel , and that's there is professional DJ at its finest , great job as always ...greetings from your number one fan inn chicago.
🫡❤️ Thanks so much for checking this out.
Absolutely love how you do your introductions! Keep up the great work! You made it look so easy! 😅
This is so flattering. Thank you! I think my MC work is the WEAKEST part of my skills and don’t like doing the MC stuff but realize we HAVE to if we want to do weddings. I appreciate the feedback. I’ve worked REALLY hard to do what you saw which isn’t all that great IMO. 😂
so cool!
it takes dedication to be my favor Dj😊😍😃,,,
and you are the best!!!!!!!!
You are so kind! Appreciate you checking this out.
Great job. You nailed it !
Appreciate you checking this out! 👊🏻❤️
You are the top of tops! The lessons learned here on the fly prove how valuable (V.I.P.) you are to each event. Attitude creates altitude.
Love this! “Attitude creates attitude.” 💯💯
“I just need a DJ play some music for a few hours.” 😂 Most have no idea the chess pieces we are moving behind the scenes to make stuff happen and plans B and C.
We take on the superhero role when it matters the most. 🙂
Still watching the rest - it keeps getting no better Lol- and Table Dash is the bomb
It got better! I promise. Everyone was so fun. We had a 🎉!!
Your are the best star Dj 😊
Rachel, great to see you back! You were 100% prepared for any disaster even no power. You are awesome! Great job working with the hotel and vendors. Thanks for sharing! You rock Rach.
It’s what we do as wedding pros! 👊🏻💯
Thanks for your time to check this out!!
always gd to see another VidLog Rachel
I don’t post often. But always try and make it a good one when I do. 😉
Great content! I always look forward to your videos! I always walk away feeling smarter!
Fantastic job Rach. Really enjoyed seeing you again. Completely know what it’s like when things do not go according to plan. It can be so stressful. For me once I have set up and everything is working I can relax a bit. Being a wedding DJ is fun but you have to be prepared for anything. I especially loved your approach to other vendors. I always check in with them, especially photographers, and I literally do not start something until I know they are ready and I let guests know that too. I am there to help everyone including the cleaner 😂. Love your passion Rachel. It’s just like mine.❤
I can’t agree more. We have the obligation as the “gate keeper” to ensure everyone is on the same page and ready to go. I’ll never move forward without double check they are ready for the “shot” or whatever is happening. I take great pride in making the day run as smooth as possible, whatever that means.
Thanks for your time to check this gig log out! ❤️
Dude! You are a rock star! And Stapleton… awesome!
Thanks so much! I do my best! Love me some Stapleton! Second time I’ve played this as a first dance. Is such a great song. ❤️
Outstanding work Rachel. Clutch getting there early
Time is the often the only solution to problems. I would rather sit around for a bit and not stress. Being early is ALWAYS a good decision. 💯
You come prepared for everything and your videos are just as awesome. Do you always videotape the entire wedding and do you drive back home after an all day wedding? Great job!
I try and do as many gigs logs as I can, especially if it’s a new venue I’ve never been to. I always drive home after as long as is less than a 2 hour drive.
i love the way you MC your introductions!
This is very kind of you. Thank you.
I’ve done two weddings at this hotel! So cool you’re up in my neck of the woods. The elevators are horrible!
They are horrible. 😩 Now I don’t feel so bad! LOL
Even the kitchen route isn’t great either. The floor is very uneven.
Great video Thank You for sharing for sure! Just did a wedding and the mom tried to plan the music 100% on Spotify - what a nightmare. I was not allowed to play 40 top Hit songs and they put up a sign saying absolutely no requests! Over 120 weddings and this one there was no pleasing the Mom who planned everything
Sounds awful.
I always enjoy your videos, totally honest about what we face, well shot, you are a true pro 🎉
Thanks for your time to check this out. I want couples to know that we don't just show up and press play. There is an ENTIRE world that goes on behind the scenes to make this happen. :)
Killer video I absolutely loved it. It's great to hear the actual sound of a wedding. Good job.
Thanks for your kidness and positive feedback. I appreciate your time to be here.
great mix!!
Thanks!! Appreciate it. 🙂
Such a pro! Well done.
🫡❤️
Love your energy, great video!
Thanks so much!! ❤️
Great job as usual Rachel.
Appreciate it! ☺️
@DJRachelLynch If I was there, I would have brought you your favorite Starbucks drink like I did in Vegas
awesome and informative as usual. great job!
Appreciate it.
Awesome job Rachel 👍🏼
Thank you so so much! I really appreciate this.
WOW, DJ RACHEL 🎧 SO GREAT TO SEE YOU BACK IN ACTION 🎬 🎧🎤🎛🎵🎶
GREAT JOB DONE ✔️!!
Thank you! ❤ Feels good to be back on the wedding grind. Appreciate you coming back to the channel.
Awesome!!
Thanks so much!
Dj Rachel do you need a helper to carry your audio equipment? here I am! Greetings from Mexico City
Nice job as usual Rachel. After 20 years in the DJ wedding business, Linda Terricola/Eclectic Songs Entertainment has retired from the business. She would have had to invest a lot of money into new gear like yours, and with the way things are today, it's too risky. I'll miss it, but will have your weddings to watch, without being able to eat all of that good food. Lol
I appreciate your time to check this out! Thanks being here! ❤️
Great video, always top tier advice - and you do this all solo? Incredible.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you watching. Yes, I do my weddings solo. It helps to have e great gear that lets me be independent and efficient. ☺️
Hello Rachel! I’ve been enjoying your content for a few years and love your work! Question: I don’t see any moving heads in this event, have you stopped using them?
Appreciate you stopping by the channel. I still have and use my JMAZ Aero spot 60 movers. I bring my totems and movers based on…
The amount of space I have.
The room architecture and design (if it’s gonna look good or cramped and messy).
The clients lighting preferences.
Their budget for the event.
They didn’t make sense for this event space so I didn’t bring them, but will have them at other events. 🙂
Everyone underestimates EV 50’s and the RE3’s. Best investment ever.
Electro-Voice makes INCREDIBLE stuff. Anyone who doesn’t like to 50s doesn’t understand how to use them and where they shine. I love my mics and Evolves.
I watch your videos All The Time
I appreciate it a lot! Thanks for your kindness and support. ☺️
Are those replacement wheels on your rock n roller? Do you have a link for those? Great Video as always!
Yes. After 10 years I needed to replace the wheels. One broke during this event, so I decided to change both rears. Happened during another wedding where it was pouring. 😅

I keep checking back. No new gig logs. 😂
Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate your enthusiasm! 😂 I’ll probably do one next month. I have a college dinner dance and it might be a good one. Also a few weddings coming up too. Stay tuned! ☺️
Rachel could you explain how you run your Ape Labs groups. Are you using different groups based on fixture type. I like the color variations here and often times I find mine are all the same color. I've been trying to get better about assigning groups and then using a different program for another group for some variation. I've even gone as far as creating mirrored programs, for example If i was using a program that was green-white-green-white I'd create another program doing white-green-white green so the lights aren't all doing the same color at the same time but I'd love to hear what others do. Great event, as always you delivered.
That’s exactly it. I have two different groups here and set them on color shift at a slightly different speed so there is some variation in movement and color. They aren’t mimicking each other if that makes sense. Nothing fancy here. Just offsetting the pattern here. Thanks for noticing!
@@DJRachelLynch thank you!
Do you come all dressed up or do you change? (Haven’t watched the whole video; I just see you with the nice earrings)
I change. 🙂 Always.
My Roland 707M has a big issue with VDj . The left pitch is not stable , always fluctuates , as if the fader is faulty. But it is not cause the controller is new , and works perfectly with serato . ...
I’d try reinstalling the drivers. I own two units and they work flawlessly with VDJ. Try that and see what happens.
Hey Rachel, which generation iPad pro are you using for your photo booth? I've got a 4th gen 12.9 pro (not M1 chip) and I'm thinking about upgrading since the newer iPad pros use a 12MP front camera as oppose to a 7MP. The only hesitation I have is that I've read that the 12MP camera is for the ultra wide angle and if you switch to the non-wide angle camera then it brings down the resolution to 6MP which is worse than what I currently use. Your photo booth pics look great which prompted me to ask. Thank you for the helpful vlogs!
Believe it or not I’m using a 2019 iPad Air. Lighting makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE with iPad Photo Booths. That’s why the pics come out as good as they do, even with an older iPad. I was thinking about upgrading myself soon because there is that much of a difference now and it seems worth it.
Let me get back to you on the wide angle information. Thanks for checking this out!
love the video and respecting other vendors.. but a word doc for planning? there are better options :)
Better options for who? 🙂
This is MY document for ME only. The other vendors and the client receive a VIBO timeline summary created with that app.
My word document is what works for my workflow and my level of detail. It also lets me make changes on the fly. I’ll never knock someone’s tools if they work. 😉 I don’t make mistakes and this is why.
For that photo booth, how do you keep people from being in the booth for ever playing with all the virtual props.?
I find that really only happens at youth events. At weddings it’s never an issue for me. Also, people police themselves. 😂 If someone is taking forever people will say something.
They have unlimited use so I don’t really care how much people hang out in the booth or don’t.
Rachel I'm in Cleveland ohio and was thinking about investing in a photo both and was wondering if you'd mind sharing how much I can upcharge for one ty in advance fyi I love you videos goodluck in the future
Every market is going to be different. Photo Booth can add anywhere from 500 to a few thousand dollars. It depends what you offer and how luxurious your booth is.
Random but for video taping do you use a gimbal with your iPhone? I’m surprised it doesn’t look shaky especially when walking! Do u use a tripod when filming the dancing?
No gimbal. I have a steady arm. 😉 I do use a $20 selfie stick tripod on the booth when I record the dance floor or timelapse stuff.
@@DJRachelLynch it all looks good, nice job 🤟🏾
@@DJRachelLynch Not sure if you’d want to but I think another good video idea would be to talk about ur crate organization since you do weddings, i always think it’s cool to see how others minds work!
What kind of Photo Booth is that?
It’s mentioned in the video and in the video description. 🙂
How long are you normally given for set up?
I arrive 2 hours early. Need about 45 min for everything.
@@DJRachelLynch Wow, that’s impressive with all the gear you have.
@@DJRachelLynch Im just trying to have an easy setup like you one day :-)~
Don’t you use Vibo?
I do. But I like my timeline better. The VIBO planner goes to the vendors and is for the client and I print that for them.
dont you hate it when your videoing the photographers block your view
