    DJ Rachel, thanks once again for doing the work for us. I think I'll be grabbing the 1500 or 2000 Pro just in case. And after seeing how well the 500 performs I believe the heavy price tag will be well worth it. Also, hats off to your mom for having a great sense of humor when it comes to your torturing her with hours of ceremony music. LOL!

    • @DJRachelLynch

      The 1500+ is a good move if you’re looking to power a full setup. Also check out some other brands, you may find something similar at a better price or different features you like. I grabbed this because it was light weight and on sale.

    This is a very thorough and comprehensive review, Rachel! It answers so many questions a DJ (or anyone for that matter) might ask if he/she were in the market for a solar generator. You obviously did your homework, my hat’s off to for yet another complete and thoughtful review! I own both a Jackery and a Bluetti solar generator…I completely agree with your pros and cons of the Jackery…one option your viewers MIGHT consider would be the Bluetti EB3, which does check off some of the boxes the Jackey lacks…with the Bluetti, you get the better battery composition (Lithium Iron Phospate), which can as much as triple the useable cycles, has the folding handle, has two outlets rated at 600 watts, and has a 100 watt USB-C port. Additionally, the screen is MUCH more informative, showing both input and output in watts, time remaining to charge AND discharge, and the plug is simply a standard plug WITHOUT the large wall wart. Not to mention the charge time on the Bluetti is 1 hour to 80%. No, I’m definitely NOT a Bluetti rep, just wanting to add my 2 cents for your viewers. Not sure if I should add this, but they are available at Amazon for $219 right now with their $80 off coupon. Thanks again as always for a great review and have a great 2023 season!

      I was going to chime in this as well. Ray is correct. Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) has is the way to go. They also handle hot and cold temperatures much better as well.
      The jackery is a fantastic battery, but if you ever consider purchasing a new one later down the road, I recommend getting something with LiFePO4 batteries.

    Rachael, this was an awesome review!
    The whole time I was waiting for you to hook two EV 50’s. Thank you for this awesome review.
    Based on your findings with the Jackery 550 I believe it’s safe to say two EV 50’s, mixer, and maybe a Chauvet LED tripod light could easily be supplied enough power from the 1500 Jackery for 6 - 8 hours! I use a predator 3500 because it’s whisper soft at 57 decibels with correct positioning it’s usable for ceremonies. However, I love the idea and silence of the Jackery. Thank you again for your insightful review. You absolutely amaze this 40 year veteran dj. 😊❤️

    Great presentation, especially your mothers part. I did a lot of research and I'm getting ready to make a purchase. However I am choosing a little more expensive battery that incorporates what they call Lifepro4 for the battery composition. Yes it's more expensive but the difference is, it doesn't lose its charge in cold weather, and let's you recharge it up to 5m times. Bluetti is the manufacturer. Great job Rachel!

    Great video. I've been running battery packs for a couple years now, LOVE them!. I have (mostly) Bluetti packs with Lithium-Iron-Phosphate batteries (much safer than Li-Ion, and 3000+ cycles vs 500 like the Jackery). 300w inverter will easily run a single speaker for wedding ceremonies. Bluetti EB70S (800w inverter) ran 2 RCF J8, 1 QSC CP8, 1 Senn wireless, Behringer Flow8 mixer for 2 hours outside - had 70-80% battery remaining. I always have at least one with me now on every gig, and usually bring a few to be sure.

    Excellent video. Just as you, I also own a Jackery but the 300 model for ceremonies. I don't have a evolve 30m though, but rather the EV verse8 battery powered speaker. For the ceremony right, I have a case with a furman, (2) Shure ULXD mic receivers and a rane mlm 42s mic/line mixer. Before picking up the 300, I decided to try the 1000 model as I thought it would be helpful to have a larger battery in the "just in case" scenario but it was a bit much. The 1000 is heavy, bulky and way overkill. For ceremonies, the jackery 550 or 300 model is definitely a game changer and totally worth it. Again, great job with the video. Your videos are so awesome.

    I am ready to try a system with a lithium battery such as the Jackery. In the past I mostly used a small portable 2000 watt gas generator for outdoors. It has worked out well and I will probably still use it for big events such as an outdoor family reunion and the like. You have to fill it with gas that stinks. Also it is noisy and larger than a battery.
    I figure I can also use a battery system for the football tailgates that I go to. It's just 4 of us at the tailgates so I don't need much of a system. Perhaps 1 top and 1 sub ... or just 2 tops. I can see a battery system handling this. I can also take a speaker to the beach which I have done in the past using an AGM battery and an inverter. Those batteries only last half as long as a lithium and they weigh twice as much and only last a few years.
    I will probably start with something like a 500 watt Jackery. That should handle two speakers for 5 hours.

    I do a lot of gigs for a park district. Almost all the gigs I do for them they want my generator. It’s very quiet as an inverter generator but last event it died 4 times. Fortunately it was unnoticed by the client but made me want to look into another option. I have a 350W battery and I was surprised it would run my Bose Pro32 and Sub2 without an issue. I found in amazon a 1000Wh for $400. We’ll see how it goes but should run my whole rig. My generator pulls 600-700W when running pair of Pro32’s, 4 Sub2’s and my photobooth with printer.

I'm hoping you can help me because if I remember, you did a video on using a built in sample (I think you used the Virtual DJ Bass Drum Sample) to "beef up" older tracks and also use as a transition between 2 songs. If so, how do you match the tempo of the sample with the songs? I'm sure there is an easy way but I can't figure it out. Thanks in advance for your help.

    • @DJRachelLynch

      The instrument sample will play at the same tempo as the Master Output.
      Right Click or Alt Click the instrument sample and open it in sample editor to see what it's set up as. If it’s “Looped” and “sync start” it immediately syncs to the beat of the current song.

    • @DJRachelLynch
      @DJRachelLynch  Před rokem

      The answer is, it depends, as explained in the video.
      It depends on what gear you are connecting.
      It depends on the power consumption of that gear.
      It depends how hard you’re pushing it.
      It depends how long you’re running it for.
      Temperature and battery health can also affect run times.

    I'd be all about using a maui, etc...but i'm into the tripod based battery-powered speakers for 2 reasons...1. mounting the wireless receivers on top and up high gives you better reception and 2. you can use a tripod stand with adjustable 3rd leg to level uneven services. Surprised more DJ's don't find themselves on uneven ground more for ceremonies like I do (lawns, slight hills, etc). An evolve just wouldn't work...and you'd be mounting wireless much lower

    • @DJRachelLynch

      Honestly, I do sooooooo many outdoor events and wedding ceremonies. Uneven ground has never been an issue for my 30M. I do have a Gator Frameworks ID speaker pole that has an extender leg for uneven surfaces if needed but it’s never been a problem for me. I think I’ve used it twice for that reason in the last 5 years.
      My EVERSE 8 has the mic base on top with their shelf. It’s an awesome feature! Line of site is super beneficial as you said. 👍🏻This was a very smart design.
      Right now my 30M is my main ceremony unit and putting the mic on the 3D printed shelf near the top of the pole has worked out great. I scan my EV RE3 mics each gig and have never had a drop out. Tremendous mics.
      There are a million ways to do this job and I love seeing what others do. I’m always happy to share ideas and solutions. Not everything will work for everyone and that’s cool!
      One of these units is also great for photos booths, printers, projector monograms, satellite speakers, emergency backup, and a bunch of other things. Definitely worth having in the tool box.

      There is no way for me to answer this accurately. It depends on the number of lights and how much power they draw. You should add up the power consumption of the equipment you wish to connect.

    I was set on getting the Jackery 550 because of the size and cost until I read so many reviews that it shuts off when the speaker bass kicks in. I have 2 QSC speakers, 1 laptop, and a DDJ 1000 so I think a Jackery 800 or 1000 would be better.

    • @DJRachelLynch
      @DJRachelLynch  Před rokem

      Yes, it will shut off as shown and explained in this video if you have too much draw. With what you’re trying to run on it, you’d need the 1,000W or higher depending on how long you need to run it and how hard you push it.
      The 550 is good for ceremony and cocktail hour systems as shown.

    How long do you think the 1000 or 1500 would run for?

    • @DJRachelLynch
      @DJRachelLynch  Před rokem

      Impossible for me to answer without knowing…
      The specs of what you’re running.
      How hard you’re pushing it.
      How many things you have drawing off of it.
      The temperature you’re running it in.
      Etc.
      If you know the power consumption of what you’re running, you’ll be able to do the equation to figure out a good estimate. Jackery’s website has it available. I don’t math well. 😂

    • @DJRachelLynch
      @DJRachelLynch  Před 4 měsíci +1

      It depends.
      It depends how hard you’re pushing it.
      It depends how long you need it to run for.
      It depends what the actual draw of the speakers you are using is.
      It depends what the draw of the controller is.
      It depends what the draw of the lights you’re using are is.
      You can do the math yourself by looking up the individual power needs of the items you’re using.
