Liqui Moly Sludge Remover vs Liqui Moly Engine Flush (Which is Best?)

I tested Liqui Moly Sludge Remover to see how well it removed sludge from an old engine. A phone call to Liqui Moly headquarters in Germany helped clarify which product is stronger. Here's a hint, the said that their sludge remover product (# 5200) is not intended for the US market, but that the Engine Flush (# 2037) is. That doesn't stop 3rd parties from selling it on Amazon though. Liqui Moly...

Give your taxi driver a good tip, ours weaved through traffic like a pro and was honking like crazy, what an experience! The Phantom of The Opera was amazing and this was one of the last shows before it leaves Broadway after 35 years.

will they dye when left dry?
What's with most everyone wearing gloves on these videos? You're not going to catch anything from your mower. And why would you wash the mower then change the oil?
Liquy Molly best engine flush? xD Tec2000 ja best on market, and jest solutions is regular kerosine dach engine oil change. 500ml kerosine per 5000ml oil.
People are drawing the wrong convlusions from this video. The average person / shop waits a max of 15 minutes for oil to drain. In this case the amount drained is exactly the same. It's only if you wait significantly more than 15 minutes up to 12 hours (which nobody does) that the hot drains more than the cold.
👍👍🇪🇺🇪🇺
It gets darker after riding, if you do this test again, it’s better you go on a small 10km ride before each oil change
Now did it come out clearer next oil change ?
czcams.com/video/P0rfwHlkUz0/video.htmlsi=y6GqiDJgh8fAECer this is LEADALLWAY platform truck 330lbs
can you do the same test with valvolines restore and protect?
Thanks for the demo and info, this is great. I was trying to find a solution to carry my ecoflow delta 2 max and extra battery around. Have a great day
How old was that first filter?!😮
Regular oil change is the best, engine flush is a killer for your engine, bearings especially and the rest of your components.
This is so fantastic. I need this for my car except I have an already at 2017. Do you know if they make it for the rdx ? Thanks
I have used Seafoam Bug Remover , it came out a few years ago ? Though after spraying and letting it dwell for a few minutes , I use a pressure washer at the self serve car wash . I think you might be scratching the paint , etc by wiping it away .
Since we give the car for service pickup, we couldn't be sure if they do Liqui Moily engine flush. Can we pour in thé same and then drive down to service centre for oil change? Will it cause any problem?
After spraying the bumper with water, I use a wet Costco dryer sheet to wipe the bugs off. Works pretty good and inexpensive too!!
good viDO, I wish U just drains the cold one after car had been sitting overnight(as it’s tricky to imp. to tell if whole eng. was at ambient 45•)👋
Try Valvoline Restore, or Restore And Protect.
Just did mine tonight following your video. My drain bolt was on the driver side though. When I got the bolt out, it shot out and I lost a bit of ATF to the floor but it was about 3qts of fluid that I had to replace. Fluid was dark and dirty, probably should’ve changed it at 50k.
So a larger filter would mean more time without oil on startup
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video! It's very helpful!
You are so welcome!
Oil becomes that dark color when it's heated up. You can heat it up in a can or whatever and see it for yourself.
Hi Owen! I like your videos a lot! I really appreciate them, as they’re very informative and clear to follow the steps. I recently purchased a Skoda Octavia 2.0TDI with 120.000km from a friend and he told me he didn’t changed the oil for the last 80.000km 😮😢, and I believe him as the guy is crazy as fuck. I test drove the car and it runs great, and I got it for a very cheap price. I want to clean the engine properly, but knowing it has such an old oil on it, how would you proceed? 1. To put the Liqui Moly engine flush on the prehistoric oil and follow the instructions on your video? 2. To change that super dirty oil and put the LM engine flush in the second oil change and proceed as the rest of your video? Hope you understand me, my English is not very good. Thanks in advance!
Since the oil is very old, I would put new oil in with Liqui Moly and possibly do this one more time. With 80,000km old oil that engine could be really sludged up. Your English is great!
Fram?
Yes, I bought a lot of them on clearance. Fram unfortunately has a bad name for some reason but even their basic filters are fine with the extra guard and tough guard being very well built. At the end of the day I’d say that even budget proline filters from Walmart will get the job done for at least 5000 miles. It’s very rare for a filter to fail anyway.
Must be a nasty engine. I change my oil and the oil comes out clean on the dipstick for quite awhile. In a Toyota 5.7 liter and a Cummins x15 engine.
Just a 2005 Scion tC, 2.4 liter 4 cylinder Toyota 2AZ-FE. Oil was inside longer than 5k miles though.
To clear the sump out of the oil?

Tech tip: Flush your engine with cooking oil that way your mechanic can enjoy the delicious odor as he services your car
As he rebuilds your engine! 😂
@@OwenLucas lol exactly
I will never do this to my Car Engine. Absolutly fine every 12000 km Oil change
Use Lubrizol 6178 additive. Very powerfull, you can instantly hear the difference!
I was able to steer a harbor freight long funnel into the fill hole.
Excellent experiment and methodology!
Thank you!
Next: the best wheel cleaner please 🙏🏼
Omg buy a funnel
😂
I woder did you run engine when rinsing with cheaper oil or just fill ithe oil in and drain it ?
I filled LM into the old oil, then rinsed it with cheap oil. The rinsing isn’t necessary unless your engine is really sludged up
From the video itself: “Replace oil and filter, run engine for 10 minutes and drain” And after that, you change filter again, fill with the best oil you can get and you are ready to go.
Wow! That was a LOT of metal shavings in that oil!!! Honda calls for new engine break in oil change to be done after the first 5 hours of running.
You never mention what to do with the second oil fill. Do I start my engine and run it for a few minutes or do I just drain the second oil fill right away? If I run the engine, for how long? Do I change the oil filter each time?
You can run it on the cheap oil for a few minutes, you want it to circulate.
This very well could develop leaks or worsen pre-existing leaks on higher mileage vehicles. This goes for all makes n models a do at your own risk type of thing
There are ingredients in the formula to revitalize the seals. Does this work? I have no idea, but I understand your concern.
Very clever way of removing the agitator.
Good experiment bro....
You can forget those all these chemicals and just get yourself a bug block sponge
As long as you soften the bugs up I think that would work great!
Best stuff to move tar is turtle spray wax.
Best stuff I’ve ever used is zip strip. not only didn’t it get every bug but it took all the paint off as well and in only one application. 😆
🤣
From my experience Turtle Wax is awful at this
You’d think they’d be one of the best!
should i flush the engine before i do an oil change ? trying it for my first time so id rather go all out for better results ?
You can add the flush to the old oil.
so is the second flush just oil ? and do i perform the second flush straight away ? thanks for your help
Extra tough. Best bug remover I’ve used. It’s safe on paint, can be diluted. I spray it on and the bugs come right off. No scrubbing needed.
I’ll have to check it out.
great video, thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you so much! I can’t believe Honda dealer wanted 150 to do this and cabin air filter
Amazing video. No filler, no fluff. Very informative, thank you!
I saw you used only one type of Liqui moly though, I didn’t see the other one in your video.
😂😂😂 this doesn’t clean the piston rings and they need replacement after 100’000 miles anyway.
You can clean your piston rings by doing a piston soak. LM is for removing engine sludge.
