I mostly agree with Chad. IMHO the tankless in our 2023 GD Reflection 311 BHS is good ONLY for showers. Yes, we set a lower temp and run only hot. But for everything else, the tank system is the winner. The tankless issues with low or intermittent flow are insurmountable, in my view. I have always liked that I can use electricity to heat water in the tank systems we've had in prior RVs. LP is not super expensive but free is certainly better! I was wondering how feasible it might be to have both - tankless for the shower and tank for everything else. Probably not very practical ...but i may look into that

Howdy and thank you for taking the time to post your video. Well done I would like to add. However, I must mention your suspions for the cause of the thermostat failure does not prove accurate. Had the insulation rubbed and causing a short as you suspect, you would see arc burns along the metal edges that you bent back. I think the wire heated enough, causing the insulation to melt against the metal edge. I have the same brand new hotwater heater and just a week ago it quit working and I found the same exact connector burned to a crisp, but I do not have the insulation situation you also showed. That tells me there is a problem with the thermostat or the wiring. Likely being, the current draw is too high for the size of wire and/or connector. Continuous heating of the wire and connector at that connection point will further loosen the connection creating more heat and the connector fried itself. Lucky it was at the point it was. Elsewhere, and with all the wiring connectors, we are lucky there was no fire. Instead of contacting the manufacture do as I will be doing. Contact the Nationanal Fire Protection Association. If enough complaints are filed the NFPA will assure the mfg corrects the problem. The life we save, may be our own.

Thank you for this video on the Houston Space Center. I too had only been to Cape Canaveral. Houston has lot more operations related stuff. And a third place I recently discovered is The Space Center in Huntsville Alabama. Where all the rockets and engineering of space components are designed.

Spending next winter in south Texas and close to Houston for a month of that so you just shared a top stop for us! Love the videos and great to see you out on the road again.

I learn something about the EFS fuel card yesterday. We had been parked in RV park (Miami) for 5 months and didin't use card any while parked in Florida. Well when I tried to use it I was declined at pump. Called Open Roads and card was reactivated. The weekend warrior I spoke to representing Open Roads was working at home. As we were talking 3 dogs go off and start barking loudly. I said to rep shut your dogs up. She goes I can't make my dogs be quite and hangs up on me. I own a dog and if she starts barking while I'm on the phone she will be addressed by rules boundaries and limitations. She is a dog but she has rules, boundaries and limitations.

Unfortunately y'all ended up in my least favorite place to drive in the world ( at least in the world I've driven in, #2 Atlanta ) Other than the traffic, there is a lot to see and do there. We are in the market for a new rig. We hate the P.O.S. 2019 Thor Miramar gasser we have now. Build quality is shameful. Our retirement rig was always going to be a 45’ Tiffin DP. But then Thor bought Tiffin. 😢 We want a Tiffin 45FP. And now, in 2025, they finally have flush floor slideouts. Yay! We will have it inspected by an NRVIA inspector even though we are buying brand new. Any dealer that won’t allow for a 3rd party inspection will not get our business. We’ve considered Newmar and Entegra but no one has the floor plan of the Tiffin Allegro Bus 45FP.
