I dare anything made today to last 90 years !
Heck, you are lucky if it last 90 days!
Sheesh today I’m glad if something lasts a decade haha
@@HabitualButtonPusherFor $100,000 it should last longer than usual.
You started out the video saying "equipment problems", and I was worried for a second it was Lucille!
That would have been family problems.
Tapping my toes or slapping my knees, more fun mix on this trip. Thx for sharing. FUN!
We were married in 1962 and our first RV was a brand new 1969 19' Shasta red. We bought it in January ('70) with a foot of snow on top, the only TT the dealer sold that month. What good memories.
We had two Shastas starting in '68 and what awesome memories
The view from a bike just can’t be beat.
PS Those vintage trailers are awesome. I agree, the Spartanettes were fantastic.
Tennessee love the Smoky mountains and the Blue ridge highway.. The best way to see it is on a bike! Great video ✌️
Wow wow wow What a neat campground, and the old RVss really neat. Thanks for the video I actually lived in a 40 foot spartan in l965.. It brought back great memories.
We have to go to this campground. Thanks Folks
Your production quality looks commercial studio grade. Looks like the Travel Channel or some TV studio made it. Amazing! Love watching you're content. I can definitely see all the work you put into it. Thanks!
Glad you enjoy it! 😊 Tara does a bang-up job editing! -chad
The last one is the same as the one Lucy and Ricky Arnez had in the movie they had it was real funny with them pulling it with a convertible on their honeymoon
Long Long Trailer! We still need to see that, but I think you're right.. that thing is LOOOOOOONG!!!
WOW What a view
Those retro trailers are super cool. I remember seeing many like them on the roads when I was a kid and accompanied my grandparents on summer vacations.
As a mid 80”s graduate of Spartan School Of Aeronautics seeing those old Spartan campers is very cool. My understanding is they are built just like the Spartan airplanes and the plumbing is like the hydraulic systems of an airplane.
That camp ground is pretty cool. Love the rv’s
We love you two!! The respect, humor, kindness, and thoughtfulness for each other makes us smile and inspire warm memories in our lives.❤
Enjoyed the trip with you and yours, it is always a pleasure. Thanks again for the invite.
Thanks! Married in '68 we bought a Shasta and took 30 days leave to travel the Gulf Coast...it was small but that was soo much fun. Kids came along few years later and we upgraded. We pulled that Shasta from Florida to oak harbor Washington. Now in the winter of life, we have a Winnebago Navion with all the comforts of home. Oh, I too loved my motorcycles. Started with Kawasaki dirt bike and did Motocross racing... Wasn't that good but it was a kick in the pants fun and a sinkhole for money. Had a 1971 Honda 750 full Windjammer fairing, saddlebags... the thing with a beast (900lbs) & I loved it! I let it go about 5 years ago... Just too old to recover from any lay down... And I had a few.
Thank you!!! ❤️
What's really cool about these oldies is the fact that most of the woodwork is real solid wood. That is probably why they are still in working condition etc.
It's not hard to get a gas stove to work...maybe its hard to find a person who has talent.
Those vintage RVs were really cool. I remember those push button radios. To set the station, you pulled out the button and then pushed it back in. One of our bucket list things is to do the entire Blue Ridge Parkway.
There're two single pleasures in life that reach the very top emotionally: - riding a bike and flying a jet fighter. I love them both. This ride with a great scenario is outstanding, the only way of total freedom on the road. Great ride this must be, I can feel it. Your bike is wonderful. In that red caravan I noticed that the stove is near the bed, very usefull for winter time. Your tour around those classic motorhomes was very interesting and quite cool, they make them well eversince those old times. America is great! Thanks once again.
Wow! - Whatta cool place. - LOVE the retro RVs. Great sound track - Thanks! - Cheers!
My parents had a large Spartan trailer. They traveled with it finally using it while they built a house in Ore.
Beautiful pictures, I felt as though I was right there with you. Excellent video. Thank you for sharing.
I LOVE riding on Lucille with you guys! Oh, Tara, your jacket is so pretty. Thanks for showing us the gorgeous views.
I love the retro and there so easy to refurbish This retro guy just bought a 1977 Coachman 33 ft 5 th wheel for 500 bucks in pretty good shape So theres some cheap projects out there if your living on a pension
👍❤ Another awesome video! Great music to a really beautiful and scenic ride. What a fun trip!
i love biking through that area
This is our fav video! We can visit June Bug in a day trip -- thanks for sharing! Also, have you seen the movie Long Long Trailer with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz???? You gotta watch that! We really love your videos. BTW, wife Jo's dad worked for Spartan Aircraft in Tulsa during the war.
We still need to watch that, but I think that last trailer might be the same?
Your travel day reminded me of the movie “The Jerk” when Steve Martin (Naven Johnson) is hitchhiking.
Johnson: “How far are you going?”
Driver: “To the end of this fence.”
Johnson: “OK!”
Cool video, thanks for sharing
"He hates these cans!!!!" LOL
Love that area, the Blue Ridge Parkway is an enjoyable ride for sure. Been a number of times in and around THE DRAGON, The Cherohala, Asheville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Franklin, Bridal Veil Falls, Dry Falls (when it wasn't so dry, huge amount of water), Wheels Through Time, etc... used to always be our favorite area to ride.
Wow I need to visit weaverville soon. I’ll need to check this out. Thanks for the views 👏🏻👍🏻🎶 loved all the music too.
The retro campsite you guys reviewed is awesome.
Tara, I believe the table turns 180 degrees, it was in the non mealtime position. When you turned it, you had more room to sit on the inside.
That’s a great place for a ride
Love riding the skyway, especially on 2 wheels. Was missing Lucille exercising her pipes in the tunnels. That retro camper part background music was so time period fitting. Great job Tara. I had that same double bay sink from the 1952 camper in my 1953 house.
Can say it all in 2 words. THANK YOU !!!!!!!!
Hey guys, great trip. Beautiful scenery, great run with Lucille.
That retro trailer site was amazing. Think your rig will look that good in 70 years ?
Got to tell ya'll that I think between your channel and Phil and Stacy's, Today is Someday channel, I couldn't choose a #1 & #2, both great channels. I really hope ya'll get to keep doing these for a long time.
Haven't heard anything in a bit, so I'm hoping, for yall's sake that no news about Tara's treatments is good news.
God bless ya'll and hope ya'll stay safe on your travels.
Awesome views on of Blue Ridge. Missed seeing you guys at the rally, even though my wife spent 3 days in the hospital there, all is good now. Praying for Tara's health.
Oh no! We hope she's well now!
Good afternoon Sir, I’m ((uncle) Armando, my nephew sent me a short video of the both of you on 4, Sep. just wanted to say hello and to thank you for making my day, I believe that you both met once before. Please be safe in your travels mi amigo.
Hi, Armando! 👋🏼
I love the tour of the vintage RV park! It is very similar to my dream - a vintage trailer BnB.
There's a place in Bisbee Arizona that rents classic RVs too. But not as many as them.
I had to show my husband this. We have a vintage RV that we did inside and out. So we had an appreciation for this.
Very cool area, not sure i would be brave enough to pull my camper to the top, loved the old campers. You need to do the parkway in the 2nd week of October when the leaves are changing, it's a magical place.
My parents lived 3 years in a Spartanette while in the army, West Virginia, Texas, New Mexico. And where I was conceived!
To program the presets on older radios like the one mentioned you would gently pull the button.
The music for this one was spot on, great video!
P.S. : Thanks for the tour of the vintage RV's. Those things were so cool. Looks like a stop for me and the bride on a trip up the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I lived in Hickory NC for 22 yrs which is one hour south of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Loved to ride the Parkway with my motorcycles. Used to pull a Lesuire Lite Camping trailer when I had a Goldwing. Several motorcycle camping areas just off the parkway. My favorite was in Cursco NC not far from Asheville.
Those trailers were definitely made better than what they do today. Simple, but very well constructed.
That was a great ride today.. Thank u for taking us along ❤
What an awesome video. The music was great. June Bug Resort would make a wonderful place for a family reunion or wedding. Save travels.
It is beautiful up there. If you didn't already know, Mt.Mitchell is the highest point E of the Rockies. It's only 46ft or so higher than Clingman's Dome in TN. Several years ago, a friend and I rode the PKWY from Fort Royal to Cherokee. It is surely very pretty!..
I recently purchased a 2016 Indian Roadmaster. Enjoyed hearing what you had to say about the upgrades you have performed on your bike. Looking forward to viewing and listening to you other videos. You are living the life... great for you!
Beautiful scenery. Loved the views. Awesome vintage campground. You guys made an awesome video. I really enjoyed it.
Great video, can’t wait till the next one 😊
Wow. Impressive weather. Fantastic for a ride. Thanks
We really enjoy your postings! Thank you for sharing your travels with us. Editing and content are superb along with appropriate music. I "was" climbing the mountain with you! Safe travels always!
Such a fun event space! Thanks for sharing! 🖖🏻😘🙏🏻👍🏻
Great video. Very cool vintage RV Park. If you’re ever around Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. You need to stop and stay at Lava Campground. The young couple took part of their farm property and put in an RV Park and have added Vintage Retro RV’s “trailers” people can stay in. It’s very cool and they’re super nice people.
Loved the vintage RV tours. Very cool!
Fantastic video from start to finish! You two are the BEST! ♥
Great video, good to see you back out enjoying your motorcycle, great footage. Also loved the Retro RV park. What a great wedding destination, loved seeing the retro RVs.
Hey, guys, another great video. The wife and I are currently back in the US and traveling south. Gonna get all the New England states in. And then travel down to Fort Belvoir where I was stationed for 3 years in the 90s. Visit with some family, friends, then head to North Carolina to visit with more family friends.. I checked in to momma gurdy's of Course, they were booked pretty well. Especially for as big as we are, w/ a 44 foot Fifth wheel.
But it would have been a little bit of a drive to visit Our Friends anyway, we end up staying a little bit closer in Asheville.. But we don't get down there, tell the beginning October.. The tour of all the retro campers was really cool. I have to say I was pretty impressed with the drive also..
Glad you're all got to enjoy all of this.. Sooner or later we have to meet up & swap stories. God-bless, Ed & Ann
That is a perfect camp site with amazing view!!
Another excellent NC find!!!
Great review guys. TY!
Thank you for wearing helmets. It amazes me how many people go without if nothing other than as bug protection. Beautiful drive. That area of Tennessee and North Carolina are my favorite areas for me.
Really cool retro park!
I haven’t been in that area since childhood. Very beautiful. Someday I do it again.
Love that area. So beautiful. Great video guys. As always , Tara , you do an amazing job on your videos.
So happy to see you still in God's country! I'm in Waynesville, so I'm a little biased about this area. Went to a wedding at Junebug's and it was great. I really enjoyed this video (as always).
Amazing spot. I could see you both staying there for a bit longer then usual. Enjoy it.
Great views - great ride - Gee hard travel day huh !! 🤪 Stay Safe !! 😎
I don’t know how I came across this video but I’m glad I stayed and watched the entire thing! Subscribed! Well done
Welcome to our channel! 😊
OMG that was totally awesome!
Excellent video as usual ...Loved the vintage campers ..My parents had a 1962 driftwood with a cab over ...that got me hooked on RVs
Thanks for the tour of the JuneBug! We might just have to go out of our way to visit. It looks delightful!
What a video... Awesome... Great quality... Loved the music too!
What great video for just finding your channel. Love Love Love antique trailers. We ride for CMA and thank you for your service
Fun video. One of your best. Loved the retro park!
I have 1973 atwood camper that was. Converted into a fishing shanty
Boy after seeing the ride, I've got to take my bike on that road it was amazing
Amazing location, just beautiful ❤❤ I would hate to leave too 😊 Safe Travels ❤️🤍💙
Great adventure and retro rvs.
Great views, great spot to camp!!
Your editing is Fabulous!!❤
We love traveling the BRP. Haven't had a chance to do it in a while and we are missing it terribly.
This was a terrific travel video! Mix of biking (I’ll pretend it was a Harley) and terrific scenery and camp sites! Makes us want to get across there. Time to start packing up to go…😂
No, Bruce! You can tell it's not a Harley because the oil is still INSIDE the engine. 😛
@@ChangingLanes Just proves Harley riders like to share! 🤣
12:40 - Might be even cooler to the feel, if a hammock rope slips or breaks. 😮
The BRP is my happy place.
Hey ! Really cool video ! Loved the vintage campers. We’ve driven the Blue Ridge pkwy quite a bit dropping and picking up our son from VT, the views are breathtaking 😊
Love your videos. When I was a kid we had a Shasta camper with that attic sleeping bunk out over the tongue. We made a lot of trips in it. I am from NC and we camped a lot at South Mountain State Park. Also love your motorcycle rides. I would love to see you make a video on your motorcycle riding down The Tail of the Dragon in Dills Gap, NC. US hwy 129. It has 318 curves in 11 miles.
I didn't hear you mention Elisha Mitchell's grave there at the summit of Mt. Mitchell. Sort of a weird place for it. Too eerie with Halloween approaching I guess.
Love the video! We head up to Blowing Rock/Boone, NC for vacation each year and have been to Mt Mitchell. Watching your video make us really want to go back!!! Safe travels!
You guys have done many amazing videos but this one might be the best. The views were incredible and then the retro trailers was such a great mix. Thanks for doing these.
Very cool!
Mt. Mitchell, is a must see. On the list of places to check out. Thanks.
You lower that table to make a bed The truck campers have the same thing for extra beds
So neat you two wonderful
Last time I made that hike on my way down I told the folks that where huffing going up that there was a snack bar and beer at the top. I think I felt bad about it, I think.
What a beautiful view from the patio. What a long travel day!
Great Video I only live about 5 hours from this campground and keep saying I am going there.
