@@peachesroyale Each company is different. The average is 24-48 hours for Case Manager. For SOC nurses the average is 48-72 hours. I typically submit all of mines same/next day. I do so many SOCs it’s second nature. Doesn’t take me to long to complete the charting. It’s repetitive at this point 😂

@@sonyawilliams2204 Hi Sonya, I replied yesterday. Check to make sure your app is updated. I find that I may not get an alert when my app is not updated. To answer your question. I don’t do dogs!!!! I’m not scared of them. They are just unpredictable in my opinion. During my SOC call I ask about pets and request that they put them away due the SOC visit. Most people have no problem with that. Also, does your company have a pet policy? I’ve also so told them that dogs are not allowed in the home with the clinicians. I would definitely advise you to start that conversation during your initial call when scheduling the first visit. I hope this helps 😊

Do you have your patients actually put them in a cage? I will have to be more firm about this if I decide to still do home health. A lot of patients just put them behind a door in another room

Hi Lisa, I’m going to do a video on this topic. To give you a quick answer I usually do about 3-5 SOCs on a typical work day. Average time and commute with each patient is about one hour. My at home charting is about 20-25 minutes each patient. Combined field work and at home charting averages out to a 8 hour day for me if I have 5 SOCs. I’ll go into more detail in the video I plan to do about HH Charting. Great question, and thanks for watching 😊

@@nurseanderson6007 Hi, yes charting and field time balances out. I typically take 3-5 SOCs on the days that I work. My work day usually balances out to around 8 hours. I see 90% Ortho patients which makes my charting repetitive. I love the PRN option because I usually take a week off every month, and don’t care to have a bigger commitment to work at this stage in my life. Definitely good money to be made in home health either way. Thanks for sharing 😊

But i can not find good companies no more with nice case loads. i can do 3-4 soc daily too. but most companies here in MI don't have LPN to follow so i have to follow to. This is my first full time and believe me I take off if needed. I control my schedule still. I just needed stability.

@@nurseanderson6007 A lot people are struggling with finding travel contracts right now. Things usually pick up in the Fall/Winter. It’s been years since I did travel nursing. I really wish more LPNs worked HH to allow the RN to truly case manage. This would be an ideal scenario 😊

By all means, please have conversations with the Deans of the colleges that you wish to consider. Then, you may interview some graduates of the programs that you are considering to determine the time frame for the ROI on the degree program you are considering. Also, free or low-cost degree programs matter. You will do very well.

@@AccordingToTawanda both!!! I feel like I’ve really been catering too much and sacrificing my own time with my son (I’m a single mom) just to please as many people as possible. We are supposed to see 6 units per day, a SOC is 2 but lately they have us with 6 revisits and a SOC on top of that and I just am having trouble keeping up. Not sure if it’s the “case manager” aspect or what but trying to manage 30 people’s supplies and doctors appointments is enough to make me want to pull my hair out 😂 sorry for the rant but it just has me wondering if I’m even cut out for home health

@@maryrudisill2541 I would suggest that you start with the SOC especially if another discipline will be seeing the patient. I usually map out my day and start making my calls. I tell them that I will be out between 8:00 and 8:30A for my first SOC of the day. If they give me any push back I kindly apologize and tell them that I need to get the SOC opened by a certain time. I find the more information you give them the better things go. You can tell them that you need to open the HH case so the other disciplines can come. Most of the time it’s a play of words. If you can get at least one person to let you in early things usually fall into place. I hope this helps 🤞🏾
