They follow only assumption and what the souls desire , while the Guidance has certainly come to them from their LORD . They followed what their souls desired, which means intention. And intention turns to action which is what they do by following assumptions and denying Ellah.

Honestly I have to agree with you, the majority of Scholars today are corrupt, they put the Hadith over the Quran so obviously. What really change my mind on Hadith, was as soon as I began to ask questions. I noticed that my fellow Muslims were becoming extremely defensive over texts that aren’t perfect or 100% provable, that’s when a switch happened in my mind, how could I not question the Hadith? What was I missing, now I’m here.

It's really simple: God made a promise to preserve the Qur'an, but God did not make any promises to preserve any texts beyond the Qur'an. Nonbelievers can question the fundamental validity of that promise all they like because they're questioning the very existence of God, too. But a believing Muslim can't question that promise by God to preserve the Qur'an, because it's fundamental to Islam as religion. That is indeed a circular argument but that is not a problem at all within the framework of religion, the framework that believers operate in. It's a question only a disbeliever would present, because the answer is not one of anything but pure belief. Either you accept the Qur'an as the word of God based on belief, or you reject it based on disbelief. Those guys are confusing the frameworks of belief and objective reasoning. Many questions of faith can be analysed within the framework of reason, but some questions of faith have answers that depend on belief and nothing but belief. That's kind of what the whole concept of RELIGION is about: faith and belief. Questions that have objective evidence-based answers (like in science) do not require belief, only acknowledgement of the evidence and the conclusions drawn from it. It's very different from belief and faith. And these questions just happen to reveal the true disbelievers and hypocrites. Or they might be mushriks, if they admit to holding the hadith on the same level as the Qur'an and thus elevating their scholars as partners to God. Because God never promised to protect anything else than the Qur'an.
