Quran Chapter 53 Verse 23 :
إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا أَسْمَاءٍ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَا أَنتُمْ وَءَابَاؤُكُم مَّا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَنٍ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهْوَى الْأَنفُسُ وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ الْهُدَى
They are only names which you and your fathers have named, for which GOD has not sent down any authority . They follow only assumption and what the souls desire , while the Guidance has certainly come to them from their LORD .
They followed what their souls desired,
which means intention. And intention turns to action which is what they do by following assumptions and denying Ellah.

I rhink considering he was acting so serious whilst having a Guy fawkes profile picture probably gives a strong arguement that he was a weird loser to be totally honest
So do you truly believe in all of Mohammed pbuh lifetime there is not a single true saying of his written or memorised ?
Wouldnt it be better to simply ask "why" to understand the position first?
I think the problem moreso has to do with the developing view of the reliability of the Hadiths in modern Islamic academia, i think its more likely that he would say that we cannot know what is true or not rather than it being untrue if that makes sense

9:101| And among those around you of the bedouins are hypocrites, and [also] from the people of Madīnah. They have persisted in hypocrisy. You, [O Muḥammad], do not know them, [but] We know them. We will punish them twice [in this world]; then they will be returned to a great punishment. (Not even the Prophet sas. knew the hypocrites and deceivers, but the scholars had the knowledge of it?)
