    The Vauxhall Corsa E at £236 for 36 months is looking great value. My wife’s Viva six years old and 8600 miles on the clock valued at £6800 bought for £8450 looks like the deal of the century. My second best buy a Corsa bought new for £8500 sold for £4000 seven years later. My expensive German brands can’t hold a candle to those Vauxhalls! I think, that the big financial burden of a combustion engined car is really known or taken into consideration. The amount of people buying an AMG car while having just the money for the car itself is astonishing. They dont know, that those engines can be babies to take care off and that a new one can set u back 50-60k as well. But on the other side everyone is looking on the batteries and the cost for a new one. I as well currently dont know, if those batteries really just give you 100-200k. Back in the day everyone talked, that battery degradation isnt really a thing and you can run them for 20 years and even then they degraded just like 10%. If that would be true, it is a fair bit of being afraid at the wrong end....and that this also is holding back many people zo buy a used one. I would love to buy a used taycan, BUT I simply dont know, what cost will come with it. Thats my main problem...I can afford 70k, but it is not like I can live with a wrong move that well. So, this would need to be all totally forgettable aspect. You buy it, you put your 10-20k km on it per year and as the car is still Porsche quality, you can use it for the next 10 years and still sell it for 30k at the end. If thats realistic, I would do it...but many people forget in general, what the potential costs for fixing stuff really is. And crazy enough people dont have the same financial eyes on a combustion car...they simply buy and get a huge burden if something happens. Its weird and I honestly dont know, what to do. The crazy thing: If you want a nicer car (middle class) you are now facing 60-80k for a new one....and sorry...I earn a couple percent more than many others, but I am still middle class...and buying a thing that is a third of my house? Sorry....in our economy, we need to go back in pricing...not up. Nobody can afford buying a car for 50k onwards. We are in a time, where this will divide people...because middle class will need to go back to superfragile loser cars, because anything remotely cool will be out of touch.

    Good luck to all those champagne socialists who bought heavily subsidised EVs (particularly early Teslas) , thinking they were virtue signalling, saving the world, and showing how much smarter they are than everyone. This has been a total scam and a financial disaster for everyone involved. And curiously, even if ALL motor vehicles in the world were converted to EVs, it still wouldn’t make a big enough dint in the world’s carbon emissions. Oops. Once the government subsidies are removed this EV industry is bankrupt. Hang on to your good old reliable ICE car for a while yet.

    This is a nightmare that has come true. For YEARS all we've heard is EVs are the future. We were all told that. Every major company pivoted in the direction of an electrified fleet, but almost OVERNIGHT it all changes and now NO ONE wants them. These cars are like phones, they have NO LONG term value. This kills the secondary market because they are too expensive to fix, insurance premiums are high, dealers won't even let you trade them (some) so why would ANYONE buy one? So many companies are screwed.

      They had no choice. The government's did it due to climate change, blah blah. If they don't have a certain % of EV on their stock list, they get a massive fine. All depends on your usage and charing infrastructure. I'd still get a EV as long as I can charge from home. It's much cheaper to run than filling up.

  • @joevandura9625

    We are going to see a lot of consolidation on the market for the next 4 years! Especially the Japanese OEMs are in trouble because they still try to hold on H2 cars and look on EVs only as a short period of time.... They are going to lose big points on the market! EVs are set as the next mobility for individual transport! So every OEM has to make the transition in the next five years or they are determined. Same stands for all "sport brands", because every "normal" EV is fast as the old supersport cars! So where is the benefit of buying a supersport EV?? Only in the combination of driving experience and direct horse power and exclusivity of the brand! ICE manufacturers will not survive in this disruption because in this exponentially transition the disruption makes no prisoners!! And no! No one has to wait on H2 cars or E Fuels! They are no future ideas for individual transportation. Just look at physics and thermodynamics and you will see there is no cheaper way to drive as in an EV!

    • @TABonTV
      @TABonTV Před 8 hodinami

      Agree, the thing with H2 is, if it was that good, it would've taken off by now. It's been around for ages and never really caught on. E fuels may have some use but really depends on world government strategy. Thanks for the comment!

    • @joevandura9625
      @joevandura9625 Před 8 hodinami

      @@TABonTV To create E Fuels you need H2 and CO2 taken out of the air! Until now there isn't anyone who reached the manufacturing goal on mass production! Not even the Porsche site in Chile works correctly, they have to buy industrial CO2 and using much of brown H2! Mr. Blume from Porsche corrected his goal from E Fuels for Porsche to only for the 911 fleet at 2035 if they can make the site effective and 5 times bigger!! So it's never going to be happen! We need E Fuels for the energy intensive industry and long distance flights, but never in individual transport! It's not a trick, it's simply physics and thermodynamics... 😉 ✌️ 🙋🏼‍♂️

The numbers don't lie, even here in the states , Taycan residuals and money factors (lease interest rates) are terrible leading to a crappy monthly payment. VW have said they will NOT fit 2024 battery technology to older cars such as the ID3 so I think the ev is a throw away item like your mobile phone. A Taycan battery is £45,000 to replace when batteries should cost £110 per kwh so £10,230. Electric car drivers are being ripped off and over charged for insurance. Many garages didn't want my ev on trade in or offered 50% of the purchase price in 2022 so be warned. A local dealership is offering £6000 to £8000 off list price for my car so like when Tesla reduced list prices my car value is devalued.

    I am just worried, if I buy one and the battery gets problematic. It is a potential cost in the horizon, which is more than 2/3 of the used taycan price. Thats the main problem: I always thought, that all Musk fanboys told us, that degradation is minor...so you can put several 100k on them before changing. As thats not the case, those cars are throwaway cars.

    Taycan Turbo S is an absolute weapon. I daily a Model 3 Performance that does 0-60 in about 3.1s and i thought it was super quick until i met a wild Taycan Turbo S in the weekend morning one day lol.

      They're pretty quick cars, and the new one is even more weapony!

    I agree with all the points made. This car is extremely comfortable. I've been driving mine for about a month now. I don't have surround view, but I wish I had it, especially because the front parking sensors on my Taycan are useless and never work, even after taking it to my Porsche dealership. They technically work, but they don't come on automatically; i.e., you don't hear the distance warning beeps, so I have to press the park assist for them to function and to see my distance. Another potential negative is the tyres. Being so wide, they pick up nails and screws. I already had to replace one because of a nail. Also, I have three young kids. Even with a no food and drink policy, they still manage to make a mess, which doesn't help with anxiety. Bearing that in mind, I've just bought an ID Buzz mainly for my kids to trash instead . Overall, I'm extremely happy, but as this guy says, make sure you get surround view.

      Forgot to mention, I would recommend people buy tyre insurance. Some Porsche dealerships do offer maintenance, but unfortunately, mine doesn't. Porsche don't do tyre repairs, and they're not recommended for such a heavy vehicle so it will become costly.
