They are in every game, and if they are not they should be! So might as well learn how to be really bad at adding a boss fight to your game. It's a must.

Maybe just get the godot engine and just modify it to suit your needs.
3:54 Puzzle Games be like: The boss IS the puzzle and to beat it you must do a series of puzzles while it attacks you at the same time! Although “Puzzle Bosses” are more methodically put together so that by it attacking you doesn’t cause the puzzle to be impossible or luck based.
Can you please adress the worrie about claming rights to my game?... its THE reason why i dont start
When I share my ideas... I get even more clarity and better ideas. You are so smart!
it's what happens when I share a lot of ideas. :)
Ideas aren't exactly copyright only the forms they take since anyone can make a platformer, RPG or shooter game what matters is the execution
I felt that way sometimes but then again what other game developer is interested in making a visual novel 3d mecha action game hybrid when they are more interested in FPS, RPGs, rogue likes, and regular visual novel
Exactly everyone is too worried about their own ideas to steal yours. :)
How will the player know they're playing an indie horror game if it isn't in some kid themed location?
Sister Friede in a nutshell
Bro describes a Dark Souls Boss💀
jeffy
all i have to say is kenshi
Instructions clear, made a bad game
IM THE 400
Not Minecraft doing the exact same thing and thinking we love it
0/10 not enough quirky Earthbound-inspired RPG with hidden themes of depression and mental illness
Also, make sure the player spends 90% of the game hiding behind cover. Nobody likes to actually move around, it's way more engaging to just play peekaboo with your enemies from behind a wall. And, for extra failure, add in some poorly-explained stealth sections.
Big thing about making a custom engine is to not do it with your first project. Get a few years of experience under your belt first.
Good advice. :)
My game IS incredibly incredible...😅
Good.... bwa ha ha....
I get the sarcasm. If you want to finish a game 1000 times faster dont build a engine from scratch. I make my own game engine because I want to become a better programmer in general :)
I guess it depends on what your main objective is. :)
Seemed like sarcasm, but can the makers of a game engine just take your game? If so, is there something you can do?
There is the possibility, but it's very unlikely, this is mostly a joke at the insecurity that some people have when pondering if they should use a game engine. The solution is to read the fine print while choosing your game engine. :)
Can we get how to fail at card games next? I'm working on one and I really need to know how to fail before I make something interesting or creative
Celeste definitely isn't popular because of the LGBTQ people
How to fail at making an arcade game: forget to make bullets delete themselves after leaving the screen so after about 5 minutes, your game slows to a grinding halt. Then release it on steam! Im totally not guilty of this one
“Make your boss a bigger version of smaller enemies “ terraria with the king slime, eye of Cthulhu, eater of worlds, queen bee, skeletron(partially?) the destroyer, and skeletron prime : 😬 (terraria good game)
While these bosses are thematically similar. They have distinct moves and attacks than their smaller counterparts, instead of just being a scaled up version of the exact same thing. Great point! :)
Just to let you know, it possibly is better to make more story for interactive novels but dont allow it to be dull.
You know its good when you beat the boss character fairly easily, and it then shifts to a cutscene where the main protagonist is then somehow defeated anyways because the enemy is "too strong!!!"
Game freak must’ve watched this because now a days pokemon turtoriels are like this
1:02 2:37 Oh how I feel called out for one specific boss I made for my own game...
I do love text!

@@Artindioo now that tickled my brain
This video is pretty helpful the game im working on revolves around boss battles since its a 3d super robot anime/toku simulator where the player battles against giant monsters for nine episodes(its a visual novel hybrid) the player himself is basically a boss monster fighting other boss monsters
1:59 pizza tower moment
Noita is a great example of not using text to share how the game works. You just spawn in the world, and you get a couple small stones at the cave entrance that shows you basic controls. Other than that, you learn on your own (and it's quite fun)
Agreed. :)
Yes because if you try to do something actually good it might fail so instead just don’t do anything
"Vangers" does this, but it's still great
Skyrim and Fallout 4 be like
I wonder how visual novel hybrids get around this.
The mechanics for visual novels are typically simple enough that they don't even need explained, but a hybrid would be interesting. It's kinda cool how there are always exceptions and special cases. Great comment! :)
@@Artindi Baldr Sky has a training mode for its gameplay half(due to the voluminous amount of attack options) due be being half mecha action game, and Rance depending on which version is a bit old school on its approach due to being half RPG.
The funniest thing about this is not ironic or unintentional, but the fact that _almost_ none of these apply to the classic FNAF games (1-6 and UCN, the latter of which is customizable) as mentioned in the video, kind of.
The solution for the grinding problem? Make leveling up faster, and make the max level not that much powerful than the first level, and/or make it so that you can progress through most of the game without having to grind or even level up _that_ much.
I’m going to make this an actual boss, one day. Only funner and more vulnerable, and the boss actually tries to fight you without hitting you with weapons, as well.
Video good, make more :)
Comment good, I make more video. :)
