I love my 05 manual. Bought it 3 1/2 years ago with 104k on it I've put about 20k on it since. I want something newer with awd but I just can't justify spending money when this this is a fun little tank.

@@Kyle5K FYI: Don't open the hatch by pulling solely on the latch handle because those latch handles are notorious for snapping off. Pull the latch release with one hand, but open the hatch by grabbing the bottom of the hatch door. That way the pressure and weight is all on the door and not the plastic handle. Google image Scion broken hatch release for pics of what nearly all of us have experienced in this regard. Interesting temporary solutions we've all had to come up with to keep those things from banging on the back of the car until we could get a replacement. Lots of duct tape that's for sure...
Got an 07 myself with about 176k and engine runs smooth as butter still. Suspension and whatnot is a different story since I live in CT so the weather really eats the underneath up over the time as well as crappy roads haha. Still a fun little car that can be grabbed for around 3k or so.

I have an 08 tc . She’s over 200k but still drives well. The only issue is loosing power going up hills & of course keeping up with highway traffic. Idk what I want for my next vehicle thinking wrx or Acura
I have an 08 Tc release series with about 135k and I noticed it struggles a little going up hills even in lower gear but tbh she does accelerate hella quick!! Have no other complaints

I've had more headaches with automatics and so expensive to repair. Manuals are so underrated but can be stressful in heavy city traffic. I think GM with their hydramatics were about the best. The shift to front wheel drive and no access to the filter like Honda had were a problem for servicing. I won't mention CVT's.
Because your muffler modification I think the car may be down on power I would keep it oem unless you are going to install performance muffler intake etc. Good video nonetheless.
I have the same identical scion 281k manual transmission put another engine in it that only have 118k rebuilt transmission new headers and exhaust pretty fast for a stock engine

It always annoys me for some reason when people use the term "fast" when they really mean "quick"... quick would be a 0-60 time and fast would be top speed

A cold air intake and an exhaust on that car might net marginal gains without additional improvements. It all depends on how he wants to build the car and his desired budget/needs. Period.
Somehow the first Generation TC never appealed to me, I found it to be too round and the Headlights and Taillights isn't my taste. Same goes for the 11-13 TC2 the Front Headlights they look dated, whereas the 14-16 Scion TC has an aggressive Front end and nicer body styling all around compared to the first Generation TC
What is not stock in the car? Whole different engine? Ported heads, upgraded injectors, headers, exhaust and new ECU map? Maybe even a aftermarket supercharger/turbo?

@@williamfswann But if you look at numbers of who drives what car and how the car handles a crash, many drivers of Tc's are younger, and take more risks on the road, cannot afford a better engineered vehicle which may be slower and less sporty. I regularly see Tc's in wrecks and in poor condition in the junkyards. Almost always looked like driver error or risk taking. Lots of front end crashes.

I have a clean 2010 “fast” isn’t the word I’d use. It has a lot of torque, more than horsepower but it also weighs almost 3000 pounds.

I had the same issue with mine. Ended up checking transmission and the Rev sensor was broken. Once fixed all good! Take a look on that...

I got headers on mines and its a rebuilt 5 speed manual k&n filter cat back exhaust new drive axles I can get 60 in 7 seconds or quicker

2006-2010 burn oil. 2011-16 have an issue with manual trans. Other than that solid cars
