I’ve owned trucks for 10yrs now and just remember this. You will never become a millionaire BUT you can have a good life if you put the graft in. Two bits of advice…… never use cheap/pattern parts it costs you more in the long run only genuine Scania. Two you will only ever get out what you put in. So if you want to sod about and work three days a week then don’t bother starting. It takes a good few years to get it right and that’s only done by hard graft mate 👍 ignore the haters . They are bitter and twisted because they have either failed or never had the bollox to try! Good luck my friend and welcome to the sleepless nights club 😁😁👍👍
The main key to all this is a good woman behind you who understands this industry rules your life. 🤷♂️👍👍
Thank you so much for your advice mate I really appreciate it and yes my partner it’s my rock, she’s my everything and she supports me more than anyone else.
She is a diamond my friend. Keep on trucking! Fair play to your brave move buying your own rig@@truckinguk
Great advice Stuart
You just need the green slip from the bottom of the v5. The seller should have given you it when sold to you.
Congratulations mate, nice choice. Don't listen to any haters on here..if they failed doesn't mean everyone will fail. They forgot you chose to buy this truck to create content for social media aswell which was already bringing revenue before you even started driving it. Ignore all the haters and false people around you (you will find couple more once you start your business) and focus on your future. 😊
hope everything works out for you and the truck you deserve it
Well done young man, I just came across this video. Ive been driving HGV and PSV vehicles since i was 21 I'm now 63 and semi retired.
Make sure you have an operators licence before you start pulling trailers for money.
Good luck in all you do. I'm sure you haveca great future ahead of you.
was it worth it pal? do this job all your life -money, Family, health ?
@longplays6496
Hi, I've been really lucky within both industries, HGV and PSV . As I've spent many years in the event industry. Driving trucks on tour with some of the biggest bands in the world also driving sleeper coaches with some of the biggest bands in the world, so I really consider myself lucky. I still do European coach holidays on a part-time basis.
Good luck you will need it! im a owner operator for last 7 years and can confirm you will have many sleepless nights ahead 😂 my tax went from 580 for 12 months to 1300 back in August thanks to the new hgv road levy 😢 you do need to go vat registered tho asap especially as youll be saving 20% on everything like fuel and repairs ect, register with a couple fuel card companies as price usually bit cheaper and you get a bit of credit. And seen you said u put tacho card in an wait 15min. You dont need to wait that long few mins on other work wile you do walk around and crack on. Theres no set time for daily checks
Thank you for your videos. I am HGV driver off ill for many months or years. Miss driving trucks watching you helps.
Excitement times ahead of you bro! Keep up the good work I'm enjoying the content 👌🏻🙌
Congrats mate, wishing you all the best jn your new endeavour.
Thanks for sharing how you go through things, I like your content👌
Well done mate on getting your own truck, seen a few of your tiktoks and just came across you on here.... Glad got see you've got a nice truck and cant wait for the next vid
You will succeed because you are positive and you work for what you aim for, times will get hard, but only the strong survive, and you have that strength, business has ups and downs, the only ones that make it are the ones that see it through and ride the waves, I wish you all the best on your endeavour, I too am embarking on my own business for the second time after failing during lockdown after 6 years of hard work and buying everything outright I had to sell and work for someone else because I became ill and the work i had got cancelled, I never give up, when many would have, the prize is for us my friend, veni vidi vici.
Fantastic, onwards and upwards. Great to see you start the truck up as a new owner.
Its all a learning game keep going and thank you for sharing your journey.
Congratulations mate , dont ever listen to your haters mate because you are going to have loads of them. Folks just hate other folks getting on in life.
Now loads will be hoping for you to fall flat on ya face because of jealously.
Well done and good luck in your new adventure mate.
You made someone else richer but you not really for this conversation, thank you 👍🏽

Mate why don't you try and be positive and giving helpful advice Instead of slating the guy and being negative about him trying to get on with his life and better himself. It's trolls like you that ruin the everyone's lifes
@@Spoon2006 never said anything
Hurdles are there to get over mate. I can feel your excitement.
The accent is the best bit of this channel. Scouser with a mix of.....❤. Good luck to you both from a fellow owner driver.
I'm new to this channel btw.
i'm thinking about doing this process in Australia (buying my own truck and starting a business). its awesome to watch you going through the process. keep it up mate! rooting for you.
Drive for a boss, turn the key off at night and walk away.
@@tkx86 it is worth it, big companies started somewhere, nobdoy is guaranteed success, you have to have skin in the game to win it, many will fail, but the prize is great for those willing to put their all into acheiving their goals and dreams, whilst you work for the man, and are happy, that servitude is not meant for everyone.
Good luck,to the both of you 👍🏽
Good luck to you pal, I hope your career goes great.
Congratulations matey proper truck looking forward to seeing your adventures
Well done dude from driving a truck to own your truck
Good luck though and keep on trucking. ❤
Congratulations mate please never end this channel its the best one out there
Thank you for the support mate.
All the best mate, I’ll be a new driver in the new year 🤞 with high expectations, keep your head up and success will come your way 👍
You dont need to put your card in when you driving your new truck after collecting it to return to your depot. Especially as you do not have an operators license disc in the windscreen and you do not have a TM.
Also, when you do start needing to put your card in. You do not wait 15 minutes!! you put your card in and do your checks for however long it takes. I am a tramper, I can do my check in 6 or 7 minutes during the week as I am in it every day. Also, can do your checks before you put your card in and then do the manual entry to show you done it then drive immediately
good luck on your new venture
As an owner driver, you will soon discover the cost of diesel per week. Thats what kills most companies.
You might want a truck thats more fuel efficient. Fuel efficiency directly affects your cashflow thus the ability to run the company.
Hello. From Uzbekistan🇺🇿🇬🇧
Get this man back on the boat.
Thumbs up 😎 will get there Just don't give up on few difficulties in life 🙏 god bless you mate 🙏❤
God bless you too mate.
HGV tax in ireland is 900e over 12k kg..hauliers here brought Dublin city to a standstill for 4 days and won.The tax then was 5k road tax..bleedin crazy.
I think we need to bring the country to a standstill with the cost of everything
Good stuff watching with great interest. Please could you tell me what body camera you use?
Nothing is ever smooth sailing delighted it all got sorted catch u next time 👍
Thank you 👍👍
Never heard of a scania B 8 which you said😂.
Hi ,
Well done 👏 ✔️ your work hard can tell as more detail,
If it has been sorned the best and fastest way to do it is go to the post office with the new keeper's slip and the VTG 7A (office plating certificate) and they'll be able to do it off that. The only reason they wanted the logbook was because it has all the axle information on which is what the road tax is based on. Sometimes they might also ask to see an MOT certificate but I've never personally had that happen.
nice video. keep it up mate
Cheers pal
Nobody said starting out would be easy but maybe a little more time understanding the side of the business other than driving a truck, more planning and preparation my friend keep at it
Good luck to both of you hope you will be very happy with your Truck
A V8 scannia, i heard one rumbling past me, they alway seem to be going 58 - 60 mph, especially the irish ones. Hope everything works out for yourself.
Great video mate lovely truck glad you taxed it ok good luck for the future
Thanks mate really appreciate the support
You should of got the green slip and you will need the chassis number for the v62
Wow
I think us trruckers are really learnig somthing..... Keep going brother!
Great video 👍
Need to do longer videos mate 20 minutes or longer mate 12 minutes for me ain't long enough 😂 amazing work mate 👍
If you buy any vehicle you should get the green slip. Without it you cannot tax until you have a new V5. Basics and the seller should of handed it over
Should have. Should've.
Can't wait to see you drive the truck on the video
Congratulations 🥳👏 bravo
Behind every great man is a good woman, you will be fine,.
‘The Police’ 🤣🤣🤣
Your Mrs is a diamond mate. Lucky guy
Not done with a truck, but multiple cars before... I take the new keepers slip to the post office and they tax it from there. Also done it online as well with the new keepers slip
Mate you’ve more patience than me or at least you seem too mate. Ignore the haters my guy ❤️
Put a reyt smile on my face when your started it buddy
Thank you for the support pal
Congratulations on the new adventure good luck keep it up dont listen to the haters life will challenge you to make sure you can handle the next step.
Think of the end goal not the journey to get there most people just see the Obstacle that are in there way and fall down at the first step.
Good luck and keep on Trucking looking forward to seeing your success.
Good luck you two it wont be easy lots of drivers have tried owner operator work and gone back to employed from forgeting about work when you book off your mind will be working 24 seven when self employed
Congs my super worrier🥰, love from Uganda
You can get it trade plated without tax as long as it has a MOT👍
You mean he can get it taxed if he knows someone with a trade plate he wouldn’t get a trade plate
Oh no, your truck turned into a daf at the end 😂
I've dont it once, I needed the VIN number of the vehicle, get on the phone with the DVLA, and go to the post office, with their premission, and I could tax it straight after... And I needed a sign papaer I paid for the vehicle, cause the seller did not have the V5
ONLY ONE RULE IN BUSINESS MY FRIEND.
BUT CHEAP, SELL EXPENSIVE AND...QUICKLY COLLECT THE CASH....I assure you from 35 years plus running group companies until I chose to do just the driving, everything else becomes easy when none owe you and bills are paid...otherwise, its a slow ans depressing financial suicide!
No doubt all wish every success to this wonderfully always optimistic driver.
Nothing is ever straightforward.... wishing you well and enjoying the channel
Driving his new Scania b8
Havent driven these trucks but with the kph in thr settings you eill be able to chnage it to mph , look at the handbook if yoy dont have one serch it up you will get it
Truck driver Haley gives courses, I don't know if she also gives the ones your lady does, but you can always take a look.
how much is it to rent a space to park your truck
congrats on your new purchase..v8 scania was it lol..congrats, i guess we all will get these longer videos once your fully up and running..looking to get into the hgv game as well but unfortunately failed for the 3rd time last week..will e taking it again soon...good luck to you and mrs on your new adventure.
Thanks mate
Keep trying mate, I failed my class 2 3 times and passed my class 1 second time
Wow the taxes is so expensive 1.400 pound wow in Malaysia x 10 ..... Expensive. Keep it up.
I don't understand why you bought a truck without getting the V5? Taxing was easy when you had the owneship document. However, I love the truck. Hope everything goes well for you.
Boss that is right la!
That green slip is what you should get anyways from the new keeper, its the new keeper details and you can't tax online without the 11 digit number,v5-v5c?
New keeper slip, isn't it just like taxing a car?
Never buy owt without a v5 slip.
Only other way is to apply online for a new log book which i had to do and it took 5 days to come in my name, bosh.
LOL You caught me in Bed on that call, a least I was not sat on the Toilet LOL
😂😂
Never late in a v8
grats!!!
inspiring.
Green slip and you can do it online in 2 minutes.
You don’t need your Tacho card in when you not being paid
I think you’ve overpaid road tax, that sounds like the rate for pulling a single axle trailer not triaxle. Should be around £1100 you get the option every time you tax it.
Good luck
It's going to cost an arm and a leg insurance and operating licence plus other things .
Nice rubber necking at the end there 🤦🏻
Go luck mate Who are Scania? Good luck
The Asda! 😎
The Asda
Beans on toast for couple of months , until you balance the books. Good luck all the best.
Try a DVSA Tax Office
If you had the green slip from the get go it would have been a 2 minute Job to tax it if that
Literally just use the green slip to tax it…
I looked into this but i think it will cost you a lot of money. Correct me if i am wrong but its the cost of the truck plus tax, mot insurance, o-license application with fee plus have to show at least 8k in bank for working funds, and an operating base is needed? (unit/yard or whatever) do you also need to register and qualify as a transport manager for yourself? Seems so much agro for not all that much more money to me. That said not hating on you matey, I really do wish you all the best and hope to see you operating a fleet one day, wish i could afford to do the same if anything 😂🤷🏻♂️
Yee what you said about the o licence is true my brother has just started his own scaffolding business and got told what you said about it
@@ZGTWISTZ it’s a bit extreme really isn’t it.
@@Wheelgooddriving yes mate but I suppose it’s the rules and they probs get so many people tryna do them over and that at least if you’ve got the money and that it shows you’re trying to be a proper business
@@ZGTWISTZ very true!
Good luck man, I’m sure thes going to be a few mistakes along the way… but in the end you’ll achieve something special for yourself and family 👍
what is your accent, I can hear bits of scouse but where is the main accent? is it portugal?
i hope this vehicle wont give u too much problems
Buy it from a scania dealer so you have a point of contact
Big Up Skem Asda
How did tha V8 Scania turn into a DAF at the end ? 🤣
How much does it cost to insure the truck and what year is it
Around £7000
@@justsayok5137 a year
I live in a totoally different world to yours and i enjoy these videos, all these old boomers trying to prove something are just hating 😂😂
What is your mixture of an accent?
Well done with the truck 👍 peterbilt next I hope :)
Can we have a video about how much you can earn
Three Days work you should get your money back for the tax
What is the lady's name in these videos? Tried getting in contact with Rodney on Facebook he's a old comrade... He seems to have deleted his account
I’m not in Facebook anymore lad 😂
Congratulations on the new truck mate, where you living at now? Need a catch up
