The thing about Valentine's Day in School. It's a set up of emotional issues.1. Some could not afford to buy valentine cards for their kids to give out, 2. many kids were left out of getting any cards.

I was that girl in elementary school who MIGHT have gotten 1 candy gram sent anonymously. Never the one with the teddy bears, flowers, cards, etc. I was sad as a child. God blessed me with two sons. The oldest is in the 2nd grade, and ever since he was in kindergarten on V Day I give him the regular candy and cards for his classmates, but I also individually wrap roses for every girl in his classroom.
