    Thank you, Marley. I'm a painting contractor in Oregon and have had one of these for 25 years as a backup and for oil primers and such. Never had a problem with mine and didn't know they were oil filled nor how simple.
    Thanks again!

    Can you please tell us if there is a way to check the pressure valve and the pressure the piston is building ? In the case lets say that it was not building up the proper pressure after the rebuild.
    Keep up the nice work .

    Ali, question from the US. I have the Titan version of this sprayer (ED655 Plus). I spray my carpentry projects and have a need to go between oil and water based paints. I've read it's not recommended to use multiple types of paints (oil, water, shellac...) in a sprayer, but to have multiple sprayers one dedicated to each type....can't afford that. If I had a separate hose and gun for each type of paint, would this sprayer function well doing that? Watching you take this apart, there really doesn't appear to be much on the inside of the head that could get junked up using different paints & cleaners. Thanks for your time.

    • @westsprayairless8763
      @westsprayairless8763  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Garth, if you need to use the 1 unit, its best to use a seperate gun and hose for the water and oil based materials, thatll give you the ability to flush the pump much quicker as well as avoid contamination. You might also want to consider using a hopper for quicker cleaning. Take Care.

    Hello Marley, you gave a lots of good information. I have a Wagner 404 plus spray paint. after painting my double and a single garage doors died. I cleaned everything..... the piston is not not scratch or the walls of the sleeve. filled out with Titan coolflow hydraulic oil, the piston and bearing is working properly is filled with hydraulic oil. new diahragm, valve loose, ball cleaned. the piston goes up and down, some fluid there but not enough to even move the diaphragm. I can not do what you did by pouring the oil and watch to circulate, because this model has a slanted cover in one side and you can not have any liquid oil there. I think that circulates, but pressure does not built. Is this hydraulic oil too thin ? do I need a higher viscosity? Please help!

    • @westsprayairless8763
      @westsprayairless8763  Před 4 měsíci

      Put covers back on and seal up the unit, remove inlet valve, start unit, turn pressure controller up and monitor the diaphragm from the hole that the inlet vlve sits in, if diaphragm moves more and less as you turn pressure dial up and down, then there s no problem in the hydraulics, what you should also do is remove outlet valve, then the seal underneath it, look at the metal housing under theseal, if there is any injection then the pump head will need replacing. Hope this helps

      Hi marty, yes its what called a single stroke piston, similar to the Graco handheld pumps. They are a dry setup, lubricated by the actual material, the noise is most likely because it has a very fast revving motor, id strongly recommend you switch to the HEA spray tips, it'll save you a lot of materialand extend the life if the little pump

    • @westsprayairless8763
      @westsprayairless8763  Před 5 lety

      You can try to reset the hydraulic pressure. Disconnect the plastic cover on the pressure control, use a flat screwdriver and turn it forward more. Your pressure should not exceed 2500 psi. Also check if you have a leak in your return hose. If so replace the prime/spray switch.

It seems that its dropping quite a bit when I pull the trigger of the gun with a 517 tip . Is that normal ? Should I top up the oil with hydraulic oil 15 or 46 like a shop here told me ? Thank you in advance for all the insight you provide .

    • @westsprayairless8763
      @westsprayairless8763  Před 5 lety +1

      Maximum tip size should be 515, maximum psi is 2500. If you have a new tip and the pressure builds very slowly then you'll need to replace the outlet ball and seat. Also I recommend you only use hea or fine finish tips, these operate with lower pressure than the standard yellow tips
