Take it from a tow truck operator I pull people out all the time in bad icy weather. The guys that know what they are doing, get it done, the guys who don't can't get it done. I see my tow brothers on the live news pulling themselves into a ditch trying to pull a vehicle out. So what I do, is throw down floor dry, a lot like kitty litter, throw it down on the ice in front of all my tires. Then I drive forward on top of it. Then my truck will stay planted while I winch a vehicle out of the ditch. Point being, carry a 50 lb bag of cat litter in your truck. When you need to pull someone out on the ice. just toss handfulls of cat litter in front of your tires, mainly your front tires since they are going to get the best traction due to the engine weight over the front axle. It doesn't take a bunch. Just some gritty that bites into the ice, then your tires can bite the cat litter. Beleive it or not it works. Done it 100x or more literally.
Great day for dad and daughter!! That horse sure would love a blanket on days this cold. Love watching y’all
🤣 What a fun daddy daughter day! ♥️ Now she might need a spa day with mom! 😜
Californians! Disconnect that hose manifold and hoses before it freezes back into the house and you have broken pipe and a water damage!
Yep get the propane cooker out and heat up some water and pour it over the connections so you can unscrew them. The hoses might be a loss.
blow torch recommended, not for long but it will get the water liquid.@@bamaman6297
Get a pair of channel locks and disconnect them hoses
@garyseitz6133 he did disconnect all the hoses guys and wrapped the faucet .
that horse NEEDS a blanket and a place to get in out of the weather !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She’s fine … not all outdoor animals need blankets .
Mike, that moisture between rain and snow is what we here in Texas call ‘sleet’!! 😂Love your channel! Thanks for sharing!!!❤
You guys are too cute together have such great fun. Sadly i dont think many father daughter relationships are this awesome. Your family is surely blessed that way.
Having fun together, making great memories, priceless!
Don’t leave hoses hooked up it will freeze an split the cable on the house because that one turns off about 10 to 12 inches back under the house with hoses hooked up now that pipe has watered in it now it can freeze and bust under your house I would undo those hoses
Word of advice from someone who grew up in Michigan. You need to get snow tires with metal
studs in them. They work very well . My Dad would have them change to them in October.
THE EXPRESSIONS ON FRANKIES FACE WERE WORTH IT. LUV U ALL.
I’m in Monroe county Mississippi. Tupelo had more snow than we did ,we had sleet and ice. The road have been horrible. I’ve had my daycare closed all week. I don’t want anymore for sure. 278 E to Ala has been horrible.
What in the world are you thinking? Kidding. Were you not informed that an Arctic blast was coming? I hope your trees will be safe, and maybe with luck you won't have to buy new garden hoses. Y'all have a great time in the winter weather with all the ice and maybe be lucky and get some snow. Just being silly, take care. Frankie had the right idea for not driving, sometimes teens know the answer. Hey?
Hey Mike, did you put some weight in back of your truck? That helps alot or a couple bags of sand, plus if you have a fireplace use the Ashes for traction
That's some good stuff!!!
Chains in Tennessee? Add some weight to the back, 2000 ibs of whatever, prevents spinning. Car would have driven better, and probably pulled out the "truck" too. use the shoulder, crushed rock, more grip.
Donuts on S x S …on ice ..still a blast at 71 years young .
💯
Mike and frankie😊 looks like good times in the winter at the crouch ranch😁👍 I hope you get a couple of inches of snow so you can really enjoy the Polaris in the elements😁 great sweatshirt, frankie👍NIRVANA🤟 really enjoyed this, thank you😁👍🍺
She’s been digging their music lately !
@27:00 Hilarious, "We put the Polaris in the Ditch". Loved it!!! LOL
Don't let the Yankees bluff you on the snow. I lived in South Dakota for 3 years in the Black hills. I drove to work in the winter on snow at least 4 days a week with snow on the roads. There is regular plowing and it is usually a dry dusty snow. Easy to drive on, similar to driving on a dirt road. Also, the temperature is usually more bearable at lower temps because there is no humidity. 32 degrees is different with humidity. I only had 2 times I could not get to work and that was when there was ice and guess what. None of them could drive well on it either. They shut down rapid City and the cops told people to not drive because there were so many accidents.
💯 that humidity gets us every time !
HEY MIKE AND FRANKIE I LOVE WATCHING YOU all three of you. HAVE A BLESSED DAY FROM NORTH CAROLINA
Snow ❄️ Much Fun ! Very nice winter video. Have a wonderful weekend 3 Mississippi 💫🙏💫
I feel for you warm weather folks. Up here we have a different way of dealing with things. It's tires, it's a way of moving its, frankly it's a different Lifestyle. Truly I hope you your family, your plants and livestock are safe. Driving on ice is not a skill a lot of people possess. My advice. Proper tires is one. EZ on EZ off throttle and brake control. Chains aren't always the right choice. With y'all down there, I would recommend and we have Goodrich all-terrain at 3. I live way up North and I rarely put my truck in four-wheel. Just my two cents take it as will
You need to disconnect the water hose from faucet it will freeze back into pipes and could burst your water lines it don’t matter if it’s frost freeze faucet it will still burst
You all are having too much fun 🤣🤣🤣 I have enjoyed this video thoroughly. 📹 That was fun to watch.
Thank you 🙏
Days like that makes me grateful to have learned hoe to handle a vehicle
A 50 Ford pickup with 4 on the floor had to double clutch up and down bald winter tires and no brakes 80% of the time 😂 drive in ice and snow enough great experience, since I was 8 52 now ❤🙏
Great adventures with Frankie Mike 👍👍😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎
Where does Beulah sleep ? You don't think she needs any shelter , Stall with straw down on the floor of it to keep warm in the winter ? Just askin , I know it cost money to build a little shelter for her . Mike, I love your teaching Frankie on hits about driving on ice and your garlic garden....Your a awesome Dad .
Thank You! That was Amazing loved it You to Do some Fun stuff. You two will be able to have Amazing memories. God Bless You all.🙏🙏🦅🇺🇲🗽💯
You're a good friend, Mike. Oh and the clickbait? Pure genius. Loved it!
Thank you 🙏
What is Ice? Here on our Ranch we have 20 acres of mud. Welcome to Central Cali!
Frankie talking Mike back from the edge.....lol
Making great memories is what that was.
Love your Channel but I always have to laugh when you Southerners get a little cold spell or a little bit of snow I'm up here in Canada -25 ° c your driving on the ice , would be a Sunday afternoon drive for us LOL
True but we don’t have plow trucks and salted road’s etc since it really only happens once a year …
Priceless memories loved watching
Thank you 🙏
We got 4 in of snow up here in Oklahoma City when it was 5° LOL you can't say it was too cold to snow, you've got to really know whether to know why you get ice pellets instead of snowflakes
Nah Mike living in illinois I’ve never owned a set of chains, I would say the weather better down there. Supposed to be below zero tonight and 4 inches of snow on top of ice
I love this video!! Keep having fun!!!
Stay warm n safe ❤
That was so much fun!
1 degree F where I'm at with 10 gusting to 20 mph winds and light snow. Real close to 49degrees N in Northern Ontario
He also need ATV tires instead of Street radials
You all have a very nice truck. We have a 2018 Silverado, 2x4, since we live in the desert.
I’m so glad I insisted on the 4x4 when we got it …. Had no idea we would end up here at the time 😂
Love seeing you guys have fun!
Good job Frankie
Good evening Mike Frankie
Get you a set of spike tries keep in shop for conditions like this.
no such thing as to cold to snow my friend that's a Sothern thing i guess it seams that way because the clouds come in and hold heat in so it warms up a little but it can be -20 degrees and snow clouds move in it may help bring it up to 0 degrees and snow 20 inches lol ive spent a few winters in Michigan believe me it can be snowing way in the negative temp it just takes moisture in the upper atmosphere now the colder and farther you are from a large body of unfrozen water the least likely you are to have snow
Like the Duck Dynasty toboggan
Hey Mike use the teeth on the back of the scraper to remove the ice on the windshield.
YEEEEE HAW Y’all having too much fun-i’m jealous. You need some old water skis and a ski rope Aw it would be on then!
Fun memories!
Too cold to snow...as im watching this its 11 degrees and snowing here in Indiana.
Being in the north. Plowed snow and driven in every condition you could imagine. I would’ve kept going. lol. But I completely understand you turning around
Sometimes using neutral and tapping your brakes can beyourbest friend in icy conditions.. practice makes perfect Mike ! Best of luck. Stay safe !
Depends how much you like going down a road sideways.
Taking chances I would be careful with that young lady hopefully she has her seat belt on 😮
Oh boy this should be great!!!!!
Mike keeps driving the mule like a derned fool he's going to break it . Then money out the window for nothing
Slippin’ n Slidin’ 💚
You know it !
Any time it is below -14 degrees Fahrenheit you should have winter tires (NOT all season) on your vehicle.
It never gets that cold here. The coldest it got was 4 degrees and only for a couple days
Mike u enjoyed yourself way too much there lol
Be careful and don't get freezer burnt!!!!🤣 Love your channel, stay safe and God bless ❤️
Thank you 🙏
Thats a nice day just par for the course.
That's the way to combat the cold weather! Just go have fun in it!!!😊
Like your hat
If bulawayo has no stable shouldn't she have a coat on
Well thats exactly where a Polaris belongs.... and thats better than flipping it.
Mike has totally lost his mind and I hope that they don’t get hurt and don’t have a serious wreck
They were fine … the camera can make things look crazier than they are
cheers......YEAH...YEAW ........................................YAH..............................YUA.....
Sleet or frozen rain. I think there is a difference but I don't know how they determine which is which.
I know sleet is snow that melts a bit on the way down and refreezes…
Safety belts!
Drive careful
I can’t believe You don’t have shelter for Beulah.
Nice video 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you
LOL you really need to learn how to drive on the ice and snow, first things you don't just hit the brake when you're on ice you have to pump the brake and the best way to learn how to drive on Ice is to be on a back road like what you're on but you need to play a little bit to know how your vehicle will react on ice and you need to pump the brake not just hit the brake and when you do start sliding you take your foot off the brake and the tires will turn therefore pumping the brake will make you stop better and quicker
He got a lot to learn 😢
@@user-oi3su7sw5n I've lived in Oklahoma City area for most of my life, and I've always been fascinated about whether so I've learned a lot about weather and about hunting LOL so as to why they got ice pellets and no snow is because the cold air was not deep enough from ground up to the clouds for them to get snowflakes LOL and if he really thinks it's slippery on that back Gravel Road he needs to get up on a asphalt road where you can find out what slippery is LOL and I would much much rather drive on that kind of sleet instead of freezing rain, and a heavy wet snow can be treacherous cuz it's like driving in mud LOL as far as the snow goes I would much rather be on a dry snow which is a very cold snow compared to a wet heavy snow LOL
Hey Frankie your dad is like a little kid
💯
👍🏻😎🇺🇸
Freeze protection is supposed to happen before it freezes!
True … he was a little behind …
Does your horse have a place to get into and out of the cold?
Yes, she’s fine 👍
Hopefully your young lady is wearing a seatbelt that is how accidents happen 😮
Seat belts please
well I'm sure you be getting;;lots of Your're not a kid anymore;;;;lol;;;I don't care what anybody says that was fun;;;;lol;;;now if my tricycle didn't have two flats on it I"d come over and help you be kids again;;;;lol;;;;Me thinks after a chocolate and donuts its time to take mom on a run;;;;lol;;;; good one thumbs up and you not only teach your youngun the right things to do also the not so right things to do;;;;lol;;;;have a good one;;;we gone
