    Greetings from Russia! Awesome! I should never have thought, that our languages have so much in common! When watching this video I discovered a great many of words, no, roots, that exist in Russian. Futhermore phonetic features (I mean the way of pronunciation, the way of articulation) of Serbians resemble Russian's ones. I think that it won't be difficult for Serbian to learn Russian (and vice versa) and speak it fluently without an accent!)))

      We learn russian in schools, so many of us know to speak Russian a little. For me (I've been learning Russian since I was 11) the hardest thing about Russian is to pronounce some letters that we don't have(ы for example), and grammar is similar but have many differences.

      @p3r0uE Před 9 lety +7

      Bj Gas Before the Yugoslav Wars, all those "languages" were a part of the Serbo-Croatian language. There's not that many differences when it comes to the vocabulary of Serbian, Montenegrin, Bosnian, and Croatian, and the reason why they exist as separate languages are only due to politics. The biggest differences is that most people in Serbia use the ekavian dialect (_екавица / ekavica_), while most people in Montenegro, Bosnia, and Croatia speak the ijekavian dialect (ијекавица / ijekavica). Where I come from (Western Serbia), both ekavian, and ijekavian dialects are used. Some people mix the two, so, for an example, they'd say a sentence which has words from both dialects in them. So, the difference isn't really ethnic, it's just regional. Here's a few examples of the two dialects:
      English: time, milk, where, here, pretty, white.
      Ekavian Latin: vreme, mleko, gde, ovde, lepo, belo.
      Ijekavian Latin: vrijeme, mlijeko, gdje, ovdje, lijepo, bijelo.
      Ekavian Cyrillic: време, млеко, где, овде, лепо, бело.
      Ijekavian Cyrillic: вријеме, млијеко, гдје, овдје, лијепо, бијело
      P.S. - J's make the English "y" sound.
