OUCH. LOL.
Nah thats that I just smoked a blunt and sipping on something talk.
Lol😂😂😂 yeah he's definitely on something
i belive this is heroine
Nah he's just saying that his defense was exaggerated and he doesn't sick Jordan off like most people do
A guard that had 131 blocks and 259 steals in the same season is an overrated defender?
Where's the on ball defense? Not helpline defense
😂
He was talking about his one on one defense
@@darrellmitchell4338 so you think the majority of 131 blocks and 259 still came from help defense? Does that even make sense?
@@rmtjr237 I don’t think shit… I do know MJ didn’t guard the best scorer Peppin did….
Now that Jordan ain’t playing , the new era wants to pick away at his legacy
Yeah, just heard Dirk Nowitzki say the other day since Lebron is going to beat Kareem''s scoring record, then he's going to have to change his mind on who the goat is now, citing Lebron as the new goat......What? Longevity, has nothing to do with who the "best basketball player is." I mean, just because you're able to inject your body full of stem-cells so you can play for 20 plus years, doesn't make you the greatest basketball player of all time. Just thinking, poor old Larry legend sure coulda used some of them cells on his back, to lengthen his career, huh?
Isn't it crazy because after Magic and Bird were gone they did the same thing. It's like they did that to push Jordan's narrative. Yet now it's happening to him.
Nah those two are still the greatest of all time for their era.@@marqthewell

Even when Iverson put his famous crossover on Mike. Iverson himself talks about how close Mike came to recover on the shot.
Still almost blocked that shot … but what do I know ? I was a RunTMC/‘Nique fan back then. Ultimately I chose the 4 pic Jordan Wheaties box cover to draw for an art school project. Shout out to MCAD in Silver Spring, Md. !!!
Came close 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 man yall are funny af trying to defend Jordan
@@sheltonwilliams9656 That’s what Iverson said! I’m not making an excuse for Jordan. I’m a Knicks fan, Jordan killed my Knicks. Overall I’m a fan of the sport of BASKETBALL! I have no problem admitting when I see good basketball. Jordan is the GOAT, and I will leave the hate for people like yourself.😂😂
@@sheltonwilliams9656Say what you want Iverson got that crossover off but Jordan had 31 points that game AND the bulls won, so that’s that.
@@boogerlane9774great deflection, nobody is talking about the win, we talking about the crossover. One has nothing to do with the other. Jordan went from guarding stone blocks to players with skill. Imagine if he faced a healthy Penny, AI, and Grant all his career. Makes a difference in the defense played. Don’t forget Grant shook Jordan too, but you gotta dig deep to find that lol
Rasheed dun smoked one too many blunts. MJ was top 5 steals all time and Defensive player of the year. Also had the most blocks by a shooting guard in one season.
Sheed definitely high and hes drinking something during this video lol. MJ has the most blocks by a SG all time, not just 1 season.
1st to record 200 steals 100 blocks in a season and MJ did it back to back yrs. Not elite defender my ass. The only way to bring any player to MJs level is try to tear him down. MJ is the most decorated player by orders of magnitude. MJ's resume demolishes everybody else's. Not matter how you try to spin it. Its really that simple
@@brucewayne7831 Damn. 👀 I am MJ fan and I didn’t even know that.
@@joebuss8835 Youre right about tearing him down to bring any player up. Basketball is my first love and I grew up playing during MJs reign. I love the game enough to know and understand why old heads think Kareem is the GOAT and why so many now think its Lebron. But unless some player surpasses 6-0, double 3 peats, and 6 finals MVPs with no game 7s...they not passing MJ in my book. When you look at the TOTAL package (rings, accolades, stats, eye test)..its MJ all day. Just look at what happened during the Top 75 team. You could feel and see the difference when MJ came out. Other players, including Lebron and Kareem seemed small in comparison.
@@joebuss8835 Despite being a great defender, he wasn't the best one even on the Bulls. Take the stats with reserve: he was frequently leaving his man open to hunt for steals, which team defence were usually trying to cover. I.e. Scottie, who was keeping three opposing men in check all the time.

Rasheed must be "Smoking something" during this interview
Damn Rasheed put the blunt down
From what I could find, Rasheed Wallace only played against Jordan 9 times. Jordan's team won 7 of those. In all 9 games, Wallace never out scored MJ. He was 1 point less twice. There are multiple games where MJ scored 30 more points. Wallace only had more steals that MJ twice. He did have more blocks more often (4 times). Other than the 2002-3 season, MJ was never less than 4th in All-Defensive voting shares. The highest Wallace made was 12th twice. MJ is 4th in career steals to Wallace's 60th, 23rd in defensive win shares to Wallace's 56th, and 24th in defensive BPM to 99th. The only defensive stats that Rasheed did better were defensive rebounds (58th to 94th) and blocks (1460 to 893). It seems odd that he would bash a guy that he only played against 9 times who dominated him in just about every defensive stat. I'm not sure why it seems to be a fad for so many people to diss the legends who came before them but that's all it is...a fad. There were a lot of people who saw MJ play for his entire career who would beg to differ with Rasheed...
It's his opinion, can't change that.
you a actually went & studied through his entire career to see how many times he played Jordan 😮 you jordan fans are beyond stans at this point. its his opinion & he played against Jordan...you didn't
if you listen to what he saying its more about how the refs where defending jordan & wasn't calling fouls on him. that was the bigger picture
Excellent
Bro guess what. They didn't guard each other. So all that studying you did was pointless. This has to be the most elaborated useless fact that I have ever seen in a CZcams comments section.
“Michael Jordan was the best defensive and offensive player in the NBA” -Jerry West

When did Jerry West play with Michael Jordan??????? They're like 2 generations removed playing wise

@@FinesseTheFrank West is legendary for his ability to assess talent and build winning teams. And while he was doing that he watched Jordan play countless times. But you're saying that doesn't matter lol.
Jordan was a maniac on defense he always always hustled. The fact that he did the same on offense makes it more impressive.
He had Scottie taking on the “bigger “ defensive roles as Phil set up the game
Plan. And that’s why it worked so good. I’ll agree to that as a regular game plan unless Mike
Says he’s guarding someone due to a personal issue.
Rasheed must have lost his damn mind😂😂
Wallace would not interview Dumars and Dominique because they would tell a different story.
Mike never ever checked Dominique for reasons Rasheed explained
Dominique was one of the best scorers in NBA history, and he played a different positions.. Of course Mike wasn't going to shut him down, but nobody else did either.
Rasheed's comment makes no sense. It's like saying ____ can't play defense because Benard King scored on them. In that case nobody is playing good defense.
it never made sense for him to do so since they had pip@@DrRhilTVNews
MJ made the all nba defensive team 9 times and was scoring leader 10 times. Sheed on that wet weed, for sure. Plus he's hating REAL hard.
Jordan have 3 steals titles
Hes probably being paid tp say this to elevate lebron, just like pippen. Nba is a business, gotta sell their face
Lost all respect
Jordan LOCKED UP Nearly every Player he ever GUARDED!
Jordan also got the MOST STEAL, BLOCKS, REBOUNDS and DEFLECTIONS ((OF ANY 2 GUARD))!
Jordan was TOPS in ALL THE DEFENSIVE CATEGORIES a Player at his position can Be.
IF THAT AINT GOOD DEFENSE THEN THERE IS ((NO GOOD DEFENSE)) CAUSE NONE OF THE PLAYERS YOU RETARDS COMPARE HIM TO EVER PLAYED BETTER!
Rasheed You Didn't Even PLAY AGAINST PRIME JORDAN and You Only Played against 39 Yr Old Jordan a few times. JORDAN WON 7 of the 9 even then.
ALL THIS DISRESPECT, STEMS FROM ADMIRATION, JEALOUSY, and RASHEED Wallace always wants to be a CONTRARIAN which makes Himself look like a REAL D#CK HEAD in the END because MJ was 100% a GREAT DEFENDER and THE BEST 2 WAY GUARD IN HISTORY to be honest.
RASHEED Wallace is Officially BANNED from REAL BASKETBALL Debates Nothing he says can be taken SERIOUS.
Mike had issues with smaller quicker guards in particular during that last 3 peat. However, he was an elite defender.
Really, watch his last game with the bulls, especially the last minute of it. Made a perfect steal then came down and hit the winning bucket to win the NBA finals. The defensive play to even give the Bulls a chance to win, without that defensive play they lose the game. It was absolutely poetic and beautiful to watch, I mean it almost seems impossible but he somehow made it happen.
In ten years they'll be saying Jordan played against plumbers and electricians.
Rasheed came into the league in 1994. He got a glimpse of Mike's latter years where he wasn't the same defender as he was from 87-93. Mike was still good defensively his last 3 years with the Bulls, he wasn't as dominant as year's past. For Sheed to say Mike wasn't a great defender...he's buggin'.
1995
The Bulls from the last 3 peat were also older and MJ literally had to conserve energy to score and take over offensively when they really needed him. Im reading one of Phil Jacksons books right now and he literally talks about this specifically. Phil asked and thanked Ron Harper for sacrificing some of his offensive talents to focus more on defense.
Even then he was still a better defender then players right now shit his Wizard years he still played better defense
Great point!
Bulls DEFENSE were much more responsible for the second 3-peat than in the first 3-peat.
Look at the finals in 97 and 98, it was DEFENSE that won those games (Jordan, Pippen and Rodman giving hell to Utah).
Rasheed is just high.
There are many aspects to being a good/great defensive player, not just one v one defense. Help-side, steals, blocks, weakside, team, off-the-ball defense
In 96 he led the best offensive team and the the best defensive team in the league.
Isn’t this the same team that was mere minutes from going to the ECF without him?😂😂😂 stop
Rasheed is bugging.

Opening comment by Wallace = Hahaha , Rasheed needs to STOP drinking the Bong Water !
😄😄😄😄😄💯☑️
Laughable
Rasheed is right. By the time he entered the league Jordan had lost a couple steps, so some guys could easily get by him. But through Jordan's first ten years he won a steals title and a defensive player of the year award. He was the best offensive and defensive player during that time. But during the second 3 peat he had bulked up a little and lost a couple steps.
We are here to defend ❤
Come to think of it, Rasheed Wallace was a teammate of Michael Jordan's buddy Scottie Pippen when he was with the Blazers.
Haha Blazer Nation🤣🤣🤣
They got 9 players on all star level and lost. Losers.
He mentioned Clyde and Joe Dumars- he was a fan just like us during those battles soooo
What's the instrumental that plays in the background at the beginning of video ?
When did he have problems with Clyde Drexler and Joe Dumars? Nobody can stop a great player but great defenders can slow them down.Cooking a player in my opinion is either scoring on a defender every time or scoring 10 points or more beyond your average. Now show me a game where Drexler, Dumars, or Jr Rider score 40 on Jordan. If you look at the all time great defenders there usually one of two things. A rim protecting center or a defensive perimeter player who’s not the primary scorer. The reason is defensive effort takes a lot of energy. So the fact the Jordan could score 30 and give great defensive effort is remarkable. Rasheed Wallace., Gilbert Arenas, Nick Wright and the rest of the Jordan hating/ LeBron fan club are delusional!
Clyde did very well playing against MJ, Rasheed is right about the hype over MVPs, DPOY, all nba selections though, these shytz are all arbitrary and bias too. For example MJ and Clyde finished their career in top 5 all time in steals but only one of them got all the accolades. MJ was an elite defender. There's no debate there. He played hard on defense as he did on offense.
@@jcpenny3606 It’s not just how many steals they have it’s about defensive impact. I watched the majority of televised Bulls games from 1989-1998. Michael Jordan was not just great at playing the passing lanes or help side he was disruptive. He could turn the tide of a game at times by himself. Also by just trying to quantify defensive ability or impact by on ball defense alone is very narrow minded. Some players are good on ball defenders but that’s all. Some are good at playing the passing lanes or help side but not good on ball. Regardless, if he was the greatest or not at on ball defense or any other type the fact is that he was a well rounded defender. On ball, pick pocket, playing passing lanes, help side or ball denial defense he was either good or elite. All the people who think his all time rank defensively is overrated aren’t looking at all the factors. Lastly if you look at many of the top defensive players of the last 20 years most of them aren’t primary scorer’s or they’re centers. Ben Wallace, Dwight Howard, and Rudy Gobert all centers. Tony Allen, Shane Battier, Bruce Bowen, Raja Bell not primary scorer’s. Playing top tier defense takes a lot of energy. Being able to be the number one option on offense and still give great defensive effort is remarkable. So in closing Michael is one of the greatest defensive players of all time period!
@@lutalomoore Sure, it's not all about steals, but individually that's a significant metric. Aside from that, let's look at the next factor then. Team defense. To that, MJ played with 2 of the greatest and smartest defenders of all time. He had a lot of help and cover, from double teaming, switches, and mismatches.
MJ came out on record speaking highly of Joe Dumars & others have vouched Dumars gave Mike the largest problem on defense
@@jcpenny3606 While it's true Clyde held his own against MJ in the regular season, but not when it mattered the most in the Finals. MJ outscored him by an average of 11 ppg in the Finals at 36ppg to 25ppg.
Just by that first line I knew this was gonna be crazy. Wasn’t that good of a defender. He crazy. Sheed has been smoking too much of that ohhh weeee… 🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Truth is Mike is a great help defender. He’s not a good one on one defender when guarding someone as good as himself. Phil Jackson wouldn’t let Mike certain shooting guards cause he knew Jordan wasn’t capable of defending them.
It’s all about trying to tear down the greatest to elevate their guy.

This is what I hate with former players turned podcasters particularly Gil Arenas, JJ Reddick, Draymond Green and now Rasheed Wallace. The sheer amount of disrespect for past greats is alarming.
Remember Sean, this is the man who said "The ball don't lie" right? And he had the nerve to say that Scottie Pippen and Tony Allen are elite defenders compared to Mike?! WTF?! Tell me who trained Scottie? Mike. And when David Stern gave MJ the 88 defensive player of the year, he was doing it out of pity?! So those nine time All defense teams were just out of pity?! Whatever Sheed is on obviously he's on crack.
You know what I think Sean? MJ must have dunked on Sheed countless times that it's so traumatic that he mindblanked the whole thing. No one is saying that Mike's the greatest defender. Even Gary Payton gets cooked by Jason Williams and Allen Iverson, that's what I'm saying. Mike's not perfect nobody is 👍👌
Man how can a Tarheel disrepect another Tarheel like that?
For real, that is just the lamest, Rasheed , I expect this from former Duke players, you sound like an envious bastard, and jealous hater, for most parts, it's just bull crap, delusional, and he sounds like a drunk, how many time did JR get MJ, or Clyde, show me the proof, Rasheed you should be ashamed of even going to the Dean Dome, I bet you'd get booed.
Nobody is one hundred percent perfect on defense and that includes Mike but he was darn near close~
Eh, I dunno about "damn near perfect". He was a risky defender. His risks usually paid off, but "perfect" is a bit much, especially given he was a 6'5" guard.

Sean! Glad you made this video... As someone who watched MJ back in the 80s and 90s, this man for sure played defense. Not only that, he influenced a defensive team! The year he won DPOY, look at the defensive rating of the team compared to the years prior. Rasheed always shoots it straight but sometimes these former NBA player will say something out landish to get some views. I didn't even know Rasheed had his own CZcams channel until you said. So, with that being said, watching that man he definitely played great defense. He had what is called "active hands". Both on ball and passing lanes. He is definitely deserving of DPOY and 9 time all defensive first team
Sheed not known for his intelligence and what’s up going after a fellow Tar Heel
Sheed saw Mike past his prime... yes he was still great but not the same athlete as he was in the 80s and early 90s..
And he was still a great defender and made All Defense teams.

Maybe this is Rasheeds Wallace way of creating something out of thin air to challenge himself, which is a MJ Specialty :) All I know is we are told people who try to do everything tend to just be above average to good, but never elite on more than just a few bullet points when it comes to accolades and skills in what they do. Jordan was a pure exception though, he truly was either close to elite on anything related to basketball, and if there are things he wasn't close to elite at it's not because he wasn't good at it, it's just he didn't invest the time to bring it to elite level. His ceiling for capability on all skills across the board was absolutely insane. An absolute gold mine of potential.
They had their fleeting moments against MJ but in the end MJ and the Bulls prevailed over them

That was so funny I had to laugh in multiple ways.
Rasheed Wallace has always been a wild ass dude.
Jordan was a top defender mostly in 80s early 90s, in an era where rules were not the same as of today. Not sure if Rasheed is comparing him to Micheal Cooper, Alvin Robertson and guys like that in the 80s who were top defenders, than possibly those were a bit better on occasion on D than Jordan, but overall none of them could stop MJ
How you played the game means a lot when you're giving a opinion, for example Jordan took no time off relentless on both ends of the court for 48 min, Wallace on the other hand was different, you had to make him mad to play hard or take over games 🤔 we never seen no player go hard like MJ sounds personal to me
What's in Sheed's hand in that cup. He drunk.😂
One thing about Rasheed he’s always gonna speak is true even though sometime it may be a little skewed, but we are talking about NBA players everybody can play and sometimes people just have a good night. I don’t care how good you are are you’re going to get cooked from time to time in the NBA because they all can play
Plain and simple that type of talk stems from envy.
Is there any great dedender that never got lit up? And isn't most peoples definition of being lit up an average game for Mike?
Wallace is absolutely right give special treatment to Mike and the Jordan rule what's that all about couldn't foul him and they wouldn't call a foul on him .
The point is. If you have an advantage with the refs on both ends of the floor, yeah your stats will look good.
Crazy thing even great defensive player get cooked sometimes
Nah only a dpoy 10 time first tea. All defensive team in the NBA. Only guard to ever average over a block and steal a game. The man that literally shutdown Reggie Miller in a must win game 7.
MJ won DPY, still has the record for most blocks per game for a shooting guard, made the all defensive team numerous times. Sheed was best known for getting technical fouls and the JailBlazers, but he was able to win A CHIP with the Pistons which saved whatever legacy he has.
