    From what I could find, Rasheed Wallace only played against Jordan 9 times. Jordan's team won 7 of those. In all 9 games, Wallace never out scored MJ. He was 1 point less twice. There are multiple games where MJ scored 30 more points. Wallace only had more steals that MJ twice. He did have more blocks more often (4 times). Other than the 2002-3 season, MJ was never less than 4th in All-Defensive voting shares. The highest Wallace made was 12th twice. MJ is 4th in career steals to Wallace's 60th, 23rd in defensive win shares to Wallace's 56th, and 24th in defensive BPM to 99th. The only defensive stats that Rasheed did better were defensive rebounds (58th to 94th) and blocks (1460 to 893). It seems odd that he would bash a guy that he only played against 9 times who dominated him in just about every defensive stat. I'm not sure why it seems to be a fad for so many people to diss the legends who came before them but that's all it is...a fad. There were a lot of people who saw MJ play for his entire career who would beg to differ with Rasheed...

    When did he have problems with Clyde Drexler and Joe Dumars? Nobody can stop a great player but great defenders can slow them down.Cooking a player in my opinion is either scoring on a defender every time or scoring 10 points or more beyond your average. Now show me a game where Drexler, Dumars, or Jr Rider score 40 on Jordan. If you look at the all time great defenders there usually one of two things. A rim protecting center or a defensive perimeter player who’s not the primary scorer. The reason is defensive effort takes a lot of energy. So the fact the Jordan could score 30 and give great defensive effort is remarkable. Rasheed Wallace., Gilbert Arenas, Nick Wright and the rest of the Jordan hating/ LeBron fan club are delusional!

      Clyde did very well playing against MJ, Rasheed is right about the hype over MVPs, DPOY, all nba selections though, these shytz are all arbitrary and bias too. • @lutalomoore
      @lutalomoore Před 4 měsíci +11

      @@jcpenny3606 It’s not just how many steals they have it’s about defensive impact. I watched the majority of televised Bulls games from 1989-1998. Michael Jordan was not just great at playing the passing lanes or help side he was disruptive. He could turn the tide of a game at times by himself. Also by just trying to quantify defensive ability or impact by on ball defense alone is very narrow minded. Some players are good on ball defenders but that’s all. Some are good at playing the passing lanes or help side but not good on ball. Regardless, if he was the greatest or not at on ball defense or any other type the fact is that he was a well rounded defender. On ball, pick pocket, playing passing lanes, help side or ball denial defense he was either good or elite. All the people who think his all time rank defensively is overrated aren’t looking at all the factors. Lastly if you look at many of the top defensive players of the last 20 years most of them aren’t primary scorer’s or they’re centers. Ben Wallace, Dwight Howard, and Rudy Gobert all centers. Tony Allen, Shane Battier, Bruce Bowen, Raja Bell not primary scorer’s. Playing top tier defense takes a lot of energy. Being able to be the number one option on offense and still give great defensive effort is remarkable. So in closing Michael is one of the greatest defensive players of all time period!

    This is what I hate with former players turned podcasters particularly Gil Arenas, JJ Reddick, Draymond Green and now Rasheed Wallace. The sheer amount of disrespect for past greats is alarming.
    Remember Sean, this is the man who said "The ball don't lie" right? And he had the nerve to say that Scottie Pippen and Tony Allen are elite defenders compared to Mike?! WTF?! Tell me who trained Scottie? Mike. And when David Stern gave MJ the 88 defensive player of the year, he was doing it out of pity?! So those nine time All defense teams were just out of pity?! Whatever Sheed is on obviously he's on crack.
    You know what I think Sean? MJ must have dunked on Sheed countless times that it's so traumatic that he mindblanked the whole thing. No one is saying that Mike's the greatest defender. Even Gary Payton gets cooked by Jason Williams and Allen Iverson, that's what I'm saying. Mike's not perfect nobody is 👍👌

The year he won DPOY, look at the defensive rating of the team compared to the years prior. Rasheed always shoots it straight but sometimes these former NBA player will say something out landish to get some views. I didn't even know Rasheed had his own CZcams channel until you said. So, with that being said, watching that man he definitely played great defense. He had what is called "active hands". Both on ball and passing lanes. Maybe this is Rasheeds Wallace way of creating something out of thin air to challenge himself, which is a MJ Specialty :) All I know is we are told people who try to do everything tend to just be above average to good, but never elite on more than just a few bullet points when it comes to accolades and skills in what they do. Jordan was a pure exception though, he truly was either close to elite on anything related to basketball, and if there are things he wasn't close to elite at it's not because he wasn't good at it, it's just he didn't invest the time to bring it to elite level. His ceiling for capability on all skills across the board was absolutely insane. An absolute gold mine of potential.
