Whats the difference of having this and the Smart TV that has these apps already built in to the TV. Is there a difference or an advantage to using the Xfinity Flex Box separately?
flex box provides more functionality and access to specialized apps
actually, Xfinity Flex is ONLY for Xfinity Internet-only customers. first box is free, second box and up to 4 are $5/mo each. Xfinity TV customers don't get Xfinity Flex, they get Xfinity X1 boxes, which are $8.5/mo. Xfinity TV customers don't get Flex boxes because Flex is only a streaming box, TV customers need a cable box so they can get their channels, and X1 boxes can give them that + the ability to stream.

Very helpful. thanks! So if I understand correctly, as long as I have Xfinity I can watch programming on my PC monitor? Xfinity is sending me one, says it is free, no charge, is this true long term? I read somewhere online it is no longer free. The rep assured me it was (but you know how that sometimes goes). I don't want to use on my TV, only on my large PC monitor. I am an Xfinity Internet-only customer. I do not have cable with them.

I just spoke w/Xfinity. I can't afford their prices today for a basic TV. Now Xfinity is sending me these boxes. I have TV. Not Computer. Do these boxes work on a TV Cable? Not what I would want if it's for a Computer only.

If it’s the boxes, I’m thinking of they would be for a TV. There are no boxes for computers.
Trying to connect this to my Macbook, and I'm perpetually riding the struggle bus with regard to any sort of technology. What sort of connector/converter cable do I need to connect the HDMI cable to my laptop? I'm not familiar with any port this size.
You can't connect box to a computer Mac or PC
On Mac goto Xfinity stream to view channels

Please help me understand!! I have Xfinity and a Gateway modem/router. My signal isn’t quite strong enough to run my Ring cameras in my backyard… I did a live chat and was told this FlexBox would solve that. Is that accurate? I thought I would need a “booster” of some kind!

not sure how that works with nest should be pretty easy just going to the settings for the box under Bluetooth and connect to your nest I don't have a nest so I am unable to test it good luck let me know how it works out for you please

i need help so when i watch anything the sound is messed up and it sounds kinda like a robot with a high pitch voice, any solutions?
maybe connection issue where is your modem located should be as high as possible

I just got my box today. It looks just like yours. But it doesn’t have the Disney+ app or the Discovery+ app. Customers also get Peacock Premium for free but mine won’t allow it. I’m looking for help if anyone knows what’s going on or what I need to do. Comcast/Xfinity doesn’t have good customer service so I haven’t called them yet. Thanks.

That's strange HDMI should work on any device as far as getting audio on a monitor that might be a little tricky. Might need to check your input.

Forget streaming for a second...does XFinity have a wireless cable TV box? I know that sounds like an oxymoron, but does it exist? Is there a 3rd-party one?

@@day1tech II have xfinity cable tv service. It comes with a cable box. It requires a coax cable to connect it to my tv. I want to eliminate that cable and connect the cable box wirelessly to my TV. Does xFinity have a version of their cable tv box that connects to a tv wirelessly?

Sounds like you need a new box I think they could ship one out to you or can stop at one of the local stores and pick one up good luck
@@day1tech yep , was a dead flex box!! Even though it was packaged up nicely , that shows that they can still send you crappy worn out or in this case, broken equipment!!! So before you smash your TV and cuss out your service, request for new equipment...😎😎😎
