Genuinely some of the worst umpiring I've ever seen on the Borges - Mayot match. Dude was allowed to complain about something that affected him and Borges equally, refuses to play and got to call the supervisor on set point, but when Borges does the same the next game he's treated far more harshly. And to top it all off, Mayot saw no problem with his behavior. You have to feel for Borges, terrible job from the umpire.
100% agreed.
Yeah, that was insane. I don't think I'll ever respect Mayot.
Ump was right to call a let when stray ball came onto court. But wimped out when dooshbag sat down. He should have given him a code violation for delay of game.
And to add insult to injury, he speaks in French with Mayot when they could perfectly speak English so Borges could understand too.
And may I add never have practice matches next to live matches being played. The organsation was ridiculous as Mayot quite rightly pointed out.
The good old supervisor move: "I totally understand your point, but I still do absolutely nothing"
Fils: “Damn it, I suck already, help me!” 😂
soooo underrated lol!
@@tylerkeys8878?
borges was absolutely right
I’d be mad too if I was him. To stop play like that when he has set point…
Extremely amateurish scenario for a 175 Challenger tournament, which are supposed to be the best on the Challenger scene. Borges was 100% right on everything he said
Agreed
That was a complete farce.
I really wish he’d won that match. Totally unfair of Mayot, and really bad unprofessional actions from the umpire.
Rublev stop lying. You literelly said“Suka Blyat” umpire heard very well 😅
Rublev literally said "Da blyat nahuj suka", but actually this means the same
"I swear my life." He doesn't take care of himself.😂
He does this often but I think he genuinely thinks he didnt say anything wrong
@@pincel1996 Like when Khachanov kept saying "I need to take a shit" and had no idea it was a bad thing
That's what I heard too, very Russian thing to say LOL
Crazy part about the tiafoe match was that all the other courts had stopped play 20 minutes prior
Its cause mussetti was getting advantage in a home court
Because it was vs Musetti. They are so blatantly favoring their own players lol
So you're saying wet conditions = home turf advantage?
@@konepe1653 It was obvious, they let them keep playing cause Tiafoe was frustrated by the conditions and Musetti was making a comeback. I bet you they would have stopped play if Musetti was losing the their set.
That Musetti with this attitude can't go anywhere near winning a trophy. Learn from Alcaraz
Never seen Borges play till this incident. I have to give the man props for shaking both the umpire and his opponent's hand despite them screwing him over.
Damned, Nishioka is on his way of becoming 2023's Paire.
His action today in his match with Seyboth Wild is guaranteed to show up in the next video here. 😄
why what happened, little spolier?
@@matteo_-ot1cb he got a point penalty in a crucial moment
I miss Nishikori.
No Nishioka is winning matches.
The fact that he is Japanese and abusing a Japanese made racket is extra disrespectful from him. Kids in japan are taught to respect things made by other people because of the time and effort put into crafting them. Yonex rackets have the best quality control because they are made in Japan vs other brands that pump theirs out of the same factories in China. I had 2 prostaff 97s ordered at the same time that played completely different from one another because one was 6 grams heavier while the other racket was more head light. I ordered 2 Yonex Ezone Tour 98 and both are within 1 gram of weight, only way to tell them apart is where I chip the paint. Shame on Nishioka, Shame Shame Shame GOT nun style.
Mad respect from Borges. I wouldn't have shook the other players hand.
Was just heading to bed and tennis advocate happens to upload. Guess 27 mins won’t hurt best tennis related channel on CZcams what you do is so underrated man should have so many followers love your content ❤

Totally agree with Frances, Roma was a joke this year. Nili was just standing there every single day, doing nothing. Dozens of players complained about the condition of the courts.
Worst tournament by far. Madrid was great in comparison, even with the cake drama.
Did you Remember what " your " Francis did to Sinner in Stoccolma 2 years ago? Coglione tu e lui
Who cares about Lukashenko
conditions probably made medvedev win
The Tiafoe weather forecast dilemma is the perfect example of when players deal with the umpire it’s like when an engineer deals with a notary
Both work on the same project but at times don’t understand each other because they don’t speak the same language, don’t have the same logic and the same priorities/interests
That’s actually an excellent analogy 😂
@@falks941 thanks my good fellow
Yeah brilliant analogy
Loved how Borges tried to get the Supervisor come to the court by singing „Supervisor“😂😂
Always a good day when tennis advocate uploads
🙏💚
Rublev swearing on his life that he didn't say it? He's tempting fate there.
Borges and Tiafoe were so right
They were right, but the way they handled it was wrong.
@@MatthewESC88 Tiafoe wasn’t wrong. This is the mans career. One bad slip on a wet line can cause him his entire career. So when it’s steadily raining then they should have stopped play. It to protect the payers. All the other games had suspended except this one.
@@jobuck879 that’s what he says just how tiafoe handled the situation could be a little more professional
You have to respect the fact that Borges and Tiafoe didn't smack those awful umpires, and in Tiafoe's case the supervisor was an even bigger clown than the ump, which is unbelievable tbf
solving disputes with tennis umpires is just like trying to get an airline to pay you back the money for your cancelled flight.
Aurélie made a big mistake there... Tho the line empire not having the mark is quite something strange... I think he didn't want his pride being damaged.

There is one moment which I still don't understand... If clay courts claim that they don't use Hawk Eye for challenging moments(which are judged by chair empire), then why they show us Hawk Eye ball hitting scenes? I just don't get it at all.
Yeah, it's just so bizarre that these days TV viewers get all of this information, yet players and umpires don't even get to use hawk-eye. This honestly makes the sport look pretty dumb and silly
Because the one showed in tv doesn't need to be precise, while the ones on court have just a few millimiters of error margin and need to be fixed and calibrated often, so getting a decently accurate one is easy, getting one as accurate as rules states isn't.
I`m sorry but Borges quote "175 tournament should be great" made me laugh
Standard of umpiring has been atrocious in the clay season. How about some sort of tv umpire who can intervene? These things are so obvious on TV.
I’ve watched a ton of the clay season and the umpires haven’t once adjusted their decision, even when new info emerges that changes the situation (like Kokkinakis) - it’s like they’re too keen on their own egos to do their job properly
It's because the fossils that deal with the ruling and judgment systems of the sport are about as scared of computers as Nintendo. Why have it and not use it?
Excellent video! Best in a while, such great tennis drama in this one! Made me laugh and good situations, every clip was super entertaining. I always love watching these the day they come out. Good player choice too!

The umpire in the borges match should forfeit their pay for that session. Terrible conduct
Don’t ever stop making these videos!!

Why rublev is cursing in Spanish wtf ahahaha
he speaks spanish, russian, and english
and then blatantly denying it
@@ilovetati91 gotta love him
He has been training in Barcelona since he was almost a child, many tennis players of Russian origin do, and his coach is still the Spanish Fernando Vicente.
Andrey doing his Jekyll/Hyde routine here. Tennis is so incredibly hard and unforgiving that even a joyful philosopher like Rublev has to explode on occasion.
He acts like that all the time now.
@@EndoftheTownProductions he's acted like that for years.
The way you guys give CERTAIN ppl the benefit of the doubt and grace is wild. He's ALWAYS been volatile. This isn't some "on occasion" type of person.
Usually the player is wrong in these situations, but in this compilation almost everytime the umpire made the mistake, unbelievable

I can't blame the players for saying "shut up" to the audience.. the "boooooo" or whatever is annoying af and they have no idea how hard is tennis is
25:17 lol that umpire is a boss
I'm convinced that Nishioka doesn't even like tennis.
He doesn't like that being too short means he'll never win a real title. As he gets older, his chances go from slim to none, so he becomes even more frustrated. Gets eliminated in the early rounds like clockwork.
Man I've never seen Tiafoe that upset.
Honestly it seems like a spoiled child. Many tennis players are like this
Tiafoe seems chill usually, ngl i would be much worse in his place.
@@kecleonboi But he was correct. All play in other courts had already been suspended due to the rain. Plus he's the player, he would know whether playing conditions are suitable. It's very suspicious that they finally decided to stop after the home country's player went a break up.

Musetti as always very unsportsmanlike, he knew that ball was out. Still remember the double bounce vs Alcaraz in Hamburg last year. Btw Tourte was the umpire of both matches, I can't understand why she is still in the best ATP tournaments.
It wasn't even in his part of the court, he has no responsability to call it out as he isn't even the closest to the mark; it has nothing to do with him, it's the umpire's fault
@@paololorenzi3396 Typical italian defending his countrymate at all cost XD seeing is reaction you can know he saw it out, have to lear a lot from Alcaraz

I really love your channel bro

I cant help but think that electronic line calling would remove so many of these things. The fact that it's clay doesnt change the technologies ability at all.
In 2025 every tournament will have electronic calls. Something that will kill tennis a bit more.
actually the technology works worse on clay for some reason, but it obviously would still reduce the mistakes by a mile
@@hkmamba824 What evidence do you have to back up that claim?
@@bigrobsydney unfortunately none, I basically just quoted some people from german broadcasting like Boris Becker e.g.
@@hkmamba824 I havent seen Boris say that. And even if he did, it wouldnt change my mind; technology is much more reliable than the human eye, and we've seen umpires go to check the mark, and find a completely different mark. As far as I'm concerned, I would rather have the technology every time instead of humans.
Good respect in the end by Agut and Zverev
26:37 Line Umpire Look Exactly Alike Vladan Savic (Magla Bend)
I didn't know nishioka had a bad temper like that, he is on every video rn
That lady umpire Ana really screwed up Djokovic on that point which is clearly out. The raquet abuse is because of her wrong call
Why don't umpires get penalized for wrong calls?
Mayot acting like a true French man.
SO far as i see , only time judge was wrong was long ball agaisnt Novak :D
Rublev speaks Spanish so well lol
It's because of his team & where he trains.

I don't understand why umpires who don't speak the language give code violations anyway, like they are just guessing or assuming it was a bad word. Lol such a stupid rule
I feel like words or phrases like cyka blyat and mierda are well known enough for them to call them out.
Suka blyat is a pretty common swear isnt it? Love Rublev either way
In fact learn swear words in all languages is mandatory to become Challenger or ATP umpire
@@GamerSverige write it right dude. it's "cyka blyat".
Rublev yells ,,suka bliat” and given a warning :i said how many times 😂😂😂
you mean cyka blyat?
Feels weird without Paire
Tiafoe and borges both got treated so poorly, both had to deal with terrible umpire calls
Fils rage is funny af
What did Musetti say after shaking hands with Tiafoe?
1:20 "da blyat suka nahui"
2:20 "If I say something bad - I accept always"
Yea, he didn't swear, he just spoke fluent russian "that's quite unfortunate" :D
Doesn’t use Hawkeye on court but broadcasts it on tv? Why not just finally implement it during play so we can reduce the amount of arguments and just get on with the game.
They use it but with a disclaimer. Hawkeye uses a prediction to estimate where the ball will land which on clay is a bit tricky as it’s a live surface. The ATP said they’ll implement live line calling by 2025 though. Hopefully it won’t create even more arguments because on clay you can see the mark and if the live calling shows it incorrectly it’ll be hard to trust it
7:23 loool
Some of these umpires rlly be trying to act so important. Like just give the guy the benefit of the doubt ffs
6:40 correction because I’m French, he said : even in futures tournaments, it doesn’t happen, even in a 15k [15k futur tournament]
Thank you 🙏
@@TennisAdvocate no problem if you need help for translation in French I’m here
First three videos, Rublev was in the match, lol
which genius figured it was a good idea to have a tournament match held on a court with people randomly hitting on the court next door with no barriers or fencing between the 2? Imagine treating peoples chance of stepping up to the next higher brackets with no more importance than a casual "come try tennis" day
Honestly I love Rublev but how is he cursing in Russian and then instantly forgetting that he did that
Borges and kokkinakis so hard done by- too much double standards on the atp tour and tennis in general.
Guarantee you if kokkinakis when hitting that shot knocked the guy out by accident - he would have got disqualified but he’s not allowed to move the barrier nor react when he bumps into it or else it’s hindrance -RIDICULOUS.
If I was borges I’d be putting in complaint to the atp board or have retired after that set - ridiciulous that guy mayot was allowed to pause at break point to relax himself
Kokkinakis wasn't, that situation is entirely his own fault for standing so far back in the court, and him moving the barrier to suit *his* court position isn't fair.
Kokkinakis is in the wrong. He may have a point but you don't go and move parts of the field because it doesn't suit his needs. He should've brought it up if he had a problem with it and if it wasn't dealt with then he should make a complaint to the supervisor or director.
Fergus Murphy is one of the worst umpires on tour, he never handles anything and just pleads ignorance every time.
It's ridiculous that they are still messing about with marks on the court for clay. Just use Hawkeye like all the other tournaments.
Hawkeye is not reliable on clay because it’s a live surface and it needs to be recalibrated all the time. Foxtenn is better. However, the ATP said they will implement live line calling from 2025 onwards so you’d hope the technology will be good enough by then
01:52 bro thinks he’s Jerzy Janowicz
Rublev had to pay a prize money by fine this tour 500 violations hahaha
Rublev is too passionate for his own good
I'm afraid that will be his downfall
Rublev what are you on about?
Why is Tiafoe bitching about? The conditions were the same for both players. Netflix star not a tennis player.
Tennis is fun as an entertainment, wachting on tv, but from the inside and specially in the lower tournaments, it seems to be a very selfish environment, full of cheaters, where players do whatever it takes to win a match, even a point. The so famous values that supposedly the "white sport" has, are nowehere to be seen. It is a jungle, covered with money and luxury (if you reach an elite level, and very few do), but a sad jungle in the end must be living this from the inside, 24/7. There is a reason why so many former pro players dont want their kids to be tennis players.
19:44 Commentator casually calling Tiafoe a Dick 😂
Roma tournament was so messy
These smaller tournaments, and challengers are absolute jokes in terms of referreing, bad publicity for tennis.
I was expecting the Rune-Davidovich incident. Maybe next video😁
Nishioka's wife leaves him for the fifth week running
Rublev swearing on his life and lying …
that female umpire did so many really bad call past 2 years really surprise that she is still up there😅 (not sayin she was wrong in that situation but would be very surprise if she was right here
I feel bad for Tiafoe tbh
Playing on clay courts, it’s so ancient. Use computerized systems then no arguments.
Zverevs own family leave him at gas stations when they go on vacation.
I've always said this, but considering the pivotal responsibility that umpires have they get away with being absolute idiots so many times. It's always an excuse of "we'll talk after the match" but nothing good has ever come from that. They also need to be fined and face some infraction. Players can't be the only ones bearing all of the responsibility.
Dont see the point on calling the supervisor. They dont do anything always agreeing with the umpires decisions.
Gotta side with Kokki on that one. Why are we still using 1700s technology in 2023 (line umpires)? Use Hawkeye on every court and check the mark if necessary
But I don’t understand his argument. It’s not like the line umpire is standing in the middle of the court, he’s standing right at barrier of the court. The court has certain dimensions, he needs to adhere to them. He can also not run into the barrier and ask for a replay of the point because the barrier was in his way, there are dimensions of the court and he needs to stick to them. It was the same thing with medvedev in Cincinnati, their arguments don’t make any sense to me
@Test1 again, the line umpire should not be standing anywhere because they shouldn't exist in 2023
2:03 Brother, you literally screamed profanities in russian so loud that the mic picked them up even with the crowd being super loud, what are you arguing about?lol
Rublev swore on his life lol, okay cause he clearly said bad words in russian
Man, I understand frustration but some of this players are really disrespectful and quite rude.....
why on earth did Rublev swear in Spanish? That has to be the time to curse in Russian unless you WANT a warning!
That ball was clearly out, but damn it's good to see Joker get some karma
