Price rises may be a fact of life at the moment, but it's certainly not justified by the extra equipment. Plenty of reasons why prices are rising, I suggest three factors having a greater influence on the price rather than just the extra equipment are:
1) VW is repositioning where the R and other models fit in the market.
2) They have a lot of fines to pay.
3) Lastly, they need extra funds for investment into EV models.
Add in inflationary pressures, possible currency fluctuations and the increase in transportation and other costs due to covid etc. and you can begin to understand why the R has rocketed in price.
Still a great car.
Looking forward to seeing a Polo 2022 video soon perhaps?
Beautiful and the car too.
The only two things i do not like about this generation are:
1- the all touch buttons
2- the steering wheel
Other than that THIS IS GORGEOUS

Technology for technology's sake......lets hope an updated version in the future has physical controls for the heating and aircon. Tactile dials or switches are much more safer when one is driving.

With no corporate pricing on the new R, it’s actually $20k more than what I paid for my 7.5 R
Quick question, you say it can "send the majority of power to one of the rear wheels when needed". Does that mean when you activate drift mode, it's sending 100% of the power to the rear wheels?
50% to the rear, 100% to the outer rear wheel to push the rear out
To many screens bad for your eyes. How does the dash go with sun on it ,hard to see the screen? Glarey.
It seems I30N is more valuable
The 7.5 is way better

Flawless and Volkswagen in the same sentence, that's not at all common.
Looks like cheapo plastic everywhere
The front bumper/grille of the clubsport looks way better than the R and the GTI. The civic is just plain stupid ugly.
How did they completely fk up the design though? Previous gen looked insane, elegant yet aggressive. This thing looks like a 1999 ford focus, what a piece of junk 😂
