      I really liked this video. He mentioned a few conventions he used. I'd like to see that developed a little more. Give some best practices, some useful conventions to follow.

      It would have been great to see the links from the video in the comments. Then I could copy and paste text. Perhaps you could edit or add above or below the facebook to linkedin group of links ?

    You explained this well enough for this OLD GUY to understand and feel confident building a code plug. A video of exporting to Excel making changes then importing back to the CSI would be great.

    I am new to DMR and was totally confused - by now! Your video is the best explanation I have seen so far. Clear speech and straight forward. Concentrated on the really important things. NOW I GOT IT! Thanks a lot from Germany. 73

    This video is your Holy Grail. Thank you. There are a ton on CZcams videos (including yours) that go through programming code plugs, but they go through settings as if everyone knows what the settings are for. This video broke it down, and slowly explained it. This video will help any novice get on the air within minutes. Thank you BC and thank you Duane N6DMR (cool callsign by the way).

    Duane, you nailed it with this DMR how-to... Finally, someone explains the how and why of DMR codeplug basics. The only question I have is you mention that we can erase our codeplug and start fresh, but you don't show us how. I downloaded a bloated codeplug from Bridgecom support to get started and it is way too complicated. Now, if only Bridgecom would do a video on how to navigate through "using" a codeplug from the radio. So we built it, but you should take us through how to operate through the radio menus to find what we created. 73, Mark WU6R

    You can Scan memory channels or VFO by long pressing (while display is on) the zone key in the center Up or Down. Quick pressing the opposite direction on the pad will reverse direction of the scan.
    Another handy shortcut is long pressing the 0 key. That will manual dial by default.
    At least the 1.21 Firmware on AT-878UV will do these things by default. May or may not apply to other models or previous firmware. I have no idea.

    I never understood multiple entries for the same frequency. It's very simple to change the tg or time slot on the fly. Much easier than having such a mess in memory. Getting good with the radio is important IMO. It seems like the computer is never around when you need it.

    FINALLY! I am no longer in the dark! The sun is coming up. I am just guessing here but I'm assuming that you have to save the codeplug (with a name?) and then upload it to the radio.

    • @wilsonruizv
      @wilsonruizv Před 2 lety

      So you don't have to save it (but you should). You can just write to radio. But every time you make a change to your code-plug you should save it to your computer with whatever name convention that makes sense to you (I use ). This way I know for what radio is the code-plug and the date I created it. Plus it is a good way to backup.

    On your next update to the CPS software please add a control+ F search function, and a page up/down scroll function; it's almost impossible to find what you're looking for in your talk groups, channels, and contact list when there are thousands of entries. KO4ZCJ Rjo Memphis TN

    Do Analog channels need to have a Contact reference? It appears that they do even though I don't think it would be "used".

    It's a little confusing watching you do things 30 seconds before you talk about what you're doing, or to flip that around, listening to what you did onscreen 30 seconds ago.
