    I just picked up a 2002 Banshee that needs a little tlc. Thank you for your how to vids, anytime I have a query about the banshee I look up your vids. I run a street bike powered Banshee for the last 7 years, so I'm just getting reaquainted with the original setup. A Big thank you!

    Will the actual covers you can buy for the Banshee with two screw mounting work good? Will completely blocking the vent decrease power or hurt the engine?

    You can go to military surplus stores and get those giant camo tarps have holes in them and there used for shading huge area.. reason for holes is so hot air doesn't get trapped and firm a heat pocket between.. we used these and there amazing..

    Good video, could you do a video or send me some pictures on the stock overflow line locations to the overflow bottle? I've owned a couple banshee at this point and they have been all jacked up, I'm just curious on the where the factory had them. Note I work at a yamaha dealer and the service manual and assembly Manual don't do a good job of depicting the line routing. Thank

    I’m rebuilding a junker banshee and have a question about this case vent. My clutch cover had the 2 screws that go on either side of that vent plug, but there is nothing there for the screws to hold. The plug fits in from the back side, what are those screws supposed to hold? Looks like I’m missing a retainer for that plug but I can’t find it on parts diagrams anywhere. What am I missing with those 2 screws

    • @dask1516
      @dask1516 Před rokem +1

      Don't ever do this to your bike it's always best to have your vent up towards the gas tank for the simple fact that if you go through stream water puddle or anything that will absolutely suck water into your case don't do what this guy's telling you to do terrible idea

    • @dask1516
      @dask1516 Před rokem

      Great now you won't be able to go through a ditch full of water because that case will suck water right up through that hose and if you're at high speeds you can get vent vacuum lock..
      Always run your vents up at least above your airbox so that way if you're going through a ditch or splashing through a puddle you're not going to have any issues..
      This dude has an awesome channel but this modification is absolutely ridiculous I wish she would have told people the possible problems that can result from doing this

    Isnt it bad to plug off vents tho?

    • @dask1516
      @dask1516 Před rokem +2

      Yes it is and rediculous to do.. those vent lines are there to keep suction from happening which can actually cause seals to prematurely wear as well as vacuum lock and cause your lubricant and transmission fluid to not work properly you've got to have air in there..
      Why anybody would get rid of these lines is absolutely ridiculous

      @@dask1516 I hear what you’re saying, but inside the water pump cover there are places for screws. for block off plat , so I don’t know why Yamaha would have that there if it would damage to bike if it was blocked off

    Why did you disconnect? I think the company set it up for a reason

    • @kevingalindo1
      @kevingalindo1  Před rokem

      Your fine disconnecting it if you block it off. You can just take it off and leave the port open. this is a major MOD in the banshee world 9 out of 10 who have ANY sort of a modded banshee do it. the company set it up on 0 timing and with TORS too. However that’s also one of the very first things we do. Bump timing and trash the TORS.

  • @charlesgunzelman3323

    There are cleaner ways without doing this type of Bubba job. Just route the front vent line up behind the coolant hose, and the rear vent line up between the carbs. Much cleaner. Although my hoses were hardened and the T was cracked, so I ran fresh hoses all the way up to the steering stem and bent a pair of 4 inch sections of hard brakeline in a U and stuck one end of each into the vents, the other free to air. Zip tied all of that in place to keep it from moving around.

    If you go through water or a ditch or something now that vent line can absolutely suck water right into your case this is the stupidest modification I've ever seen anybody do those vent lines should always be ran up at least above your air filter..
